“Finis terra is back!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Stayed at this property 4weeks ago. The construction is finished.
The rooms have been freshened, the pools are all back in service & the staffing has been sorted out. Staff could'nt have been more friendly. It is obvious they are trying very hard to make people enjoy themselves.

We booked a junior ocean view suite but at check in they gave us a partial view. The manager, Ulysses, was great at taking care of the situation and moved us to a much better room.
Everything else was great! Service, food, location. Great activity every night. The SPA a bit disappointing, I booked a mani pedi for $ 95.00 definitely not worth it. That made me change my mind about getting a massage. The SPA is new and probably I should have giving them another chance.
This was our first time in town, we usually stayed at the Hilton because they have a swimming beach. All and all we will definitely go back to Sandos.

I had been staying at the Finisterra for 11 years and then I stopped for 6 years due to the decline of the resort which desperately needed a make over of major proportions. I recently stayed there with guests and the takeover by Sandos was amazing. The resort is staffed with great employees and management. The food is good but could be improved on. Every night there was good entertainment and you can walk to town easily. I am a time share owner and converted to Royal Elite membership. They treat their Royal Elite guests special and I give that a 10. My only negative is that the resort needs a high caliber restaurant in addition to the buffet at Don Diego. The Italian restaurant is very average with no view.

I highly recommend this property as the beach is the best in Cabo and the staff are wonderful !!!!!!!

gorgeous location facing the pacific, secluded by easily accessible to downtown, however a very steep road up to this hotel which may be challenging to some to walk but a cab is a better choice, the hotel offers a comp shuttle down when you leave to the entrance, some nostalgia here one of the rolling stones got married there, nice pools and service

Room Tip: ocean view if you can

We recently took a "sister" trip to the Finisterra and overall had a great trip. Our room was ready promptly at 3pm, however, the initial room was NOT ocean view as stated in our reservation. We returned to the front desk and they switched us to a first floor, ocean view that despite being on a low floor still had a nice view. The rooms are spacious, but could use updating in the bathrooms especially. The noise level was fine, surprisingly, so it was nice having easy access to the pool areas. Most of the restaurants, the spa and the gym are all on the 7th floor...gorgeous views! All of this area has recently been renovated and is very nice. The gym equipment is new and everything is in great condition. Two of the three of us had massages that were excellent, but the only complaint was the lack of a ceiling over the treatment rooms....so I heard a faint voice every now and again.
On our first night we ate at Emiliano's which is their Italian restaurant. The house salad is excellent and the Tuna Tar Tar was super fresh. Most impressive was the service. Jesus, who I believe manages the area asked if we wanted to return during our stay for a private outdoor table with an amazing view....YES...and it was wonderful! He also gave us a tour of the Disco and Whale's bar which are both very nice. The Whale's bar has an upscale bar area, tv's, computers, and a pool table.
Abraham, who is one of the activity directors there, was also ultra impressive! He was a wealth of knowledge about the area and town of Cabo San Lucas and made sure we had nothing short of a fun time!
We also attended the Manager's cocktail party, and were welcomed with open arms by Paulino who was most personable and very interested to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay.
I hope to return to the Finisterra...and hope they will continue renovating and improving this hotel as it truly has one of the best locations for walking to town and the marina, as well as the most breathtaking views from up high!

We bought a groupon and stayed for 7 nights and had an excellent time. We were at first very disappointed when we should up as it was not what we expected. As Cabo first timers we didn't expect it to be completely desert/sand with very little greenery other than the palm trees. We also didn't know that you cannot swim in the Ocean on the Pacific side meaning there is no ocean access from this hotel. After getting used to these things everything was great. There is a beach within walking distance or short water taxi ($5) to a beach where you can swim. The pool area here is awesome with three separate pools with separate vibes from low key to party time. Service around the pool is excellent and they will bring you a full menu to order at the pool at any time. Decent tips on day one and the waiters remember you and hook you up the rest of the day. Thought the food was pretty good as well, especially breakfast. The main restaurant is buffet and different types of food each day. The atmosphere is excellent and the views incredible. We were in a renovated junior suite which was fine. It is not incredibly nice and the bathroom needs a little update but it easily did the trick since you spend most of the time at the pool! 24/hour room service included in the all inclusive. Nice coffee shop with great views as well. Over all I would say this place was excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone going. Seemed a lot nicer than the other places we walked by both on our side and on the bay side!

Room Tip: the higher the better. We had ocean view (which is pool view as well) and it was great, bay view ha...

We took a trip in Feb 2014 with a family of 10! The service and entertainment staff was outstanding. We stayed in the Royal elite suites over looking the marina. The view was breath taking. The only thing we wished was different was access to more of the pools. There was only one pool heated, the other pools were very cold and unusable. This was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas and it won't be out last...thank you sandos for making our stay so wonderful.
