Edith's and the Office were booked so we decided to book Lorenzo's instead...there aren't that many options in the Marina area. Lorenzo's was RIDICULOUSLY expensive for what you get so we went with Dos Mares instead. It was fairly good - we paid $100 for 3 people with a great tuna app and multiple drinks and entrees. Beautiful view right on the water and some swanky 70s tunes by saxophone. Good meal for some casual seafood and people watching.
Eat on the patio over the waterfront. Excellent for drinks as well as a more elegant but casual al fresco dining experience- check it out
We were hot and tired walking around the Marina. Of the may marina-side tourist restaurants, Dos Mares ("Two seas") stood out: 1. Shaded dining area right on the water, 2. Less americanized & touristy. We didn't regret the choice.
Independently my wife and I chose fish tacos. Just to be different she decided for the shrimp and I the fish. Both were great. The two salsas that accompanied the meals (pineapple and habanero) were delicious, although the habanero has to be approached with caution. We had ordered a guacamole appetizer with chips as well. The guacamole was served with pico de gallo; when mixed together the effect was wonderful.
Service was professional and discrete.
Bottom line: We'd go back in a heartbeat.
Perfectly seasoned food! More like cuisine! Great service! Right on the marina! Makes me happy to be alive and enjoying this place!
