The staff is very attentive and friendly. They make you feel at home. Poolside entertainment was fun with Rolfy providing excellent tequila advice and making everyone feel included. Antonio at the Sugar reef bar mixes up creative, delicious drinks. Hector provides excellent service at the Premier club lounge. The food is very good, once you know your favorites. Oceana for lunch, fish tacos, calamari, and salmon. Bordeaux's lobster bisque and chateaubriand, tasty for being in Mexico. Don't compare the food with what you would get in New York or Chiicago, the ingredients available are not the same. Stay at Dreams, you can relax and feel taken care of.

Room tip: Check to make sure your sinks and toilets are working.

We are experienced all-inclusive travelers. Im a former travel industry professional (travel agent, then sales manager for all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, and a cruise line).
That having been said, I have never been to an all inclusive resort that was part of a time share organization.
We purchased our trip through Apple Vacations. Apple listed Dreams as one of the top choices in Cabo. Golden Apples...etc
We eventually learned, prior to our departure that this resort is part of a large timeshare resort group.
The included transfer was excellent. Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted with champagne and cool towelettes. The young man checking us in was professional and friendly. We had to sit down with a woman who gave us our "free" $200 resort vouchers. And so it began. This gal was high pressure about going to the timeshare breakfast. She kept telling us we have to use her name so she gets credit. The vouchers are fairly restrictive so don't don't too excited about them. We finally broke away from her without committing to the breakfast. Phew.

And then....... things started going awry.
We booked an oceanview junior suite.
We found our room, entered and our hearts sank. This room could not have been in a worse location, nor have a worse view. Instead of the lovely balcony we saw in all the pictures there was a wall. A wall with 2 chairs and a table facing it as if there were something to see. Honestly. You could not see over the wall when seated. Right back to the desk to change rooms. But none would be available until half way through our one week stay. But we could pay more ($750US) for a one bedroom suite in a much better location. We simply could not imagine staying in the room we were given as we had waited so long for this trip and to enjoy an oceanview from our room so we agreed to pay more and moved to the one bedroom. This room was on a higher floor, had a beautiful oceanview and was quite lovely. Vacation back on track.

Well... sort of. Every time you walk through the lobby, there they are. The timeshare sales people. They approach you as if to be friendly and helpful but it always, always turns into "did you sign up for the breakfast presentation?" And don't think your person won't recognize you or see you. They are not introverts. They will approach you, follow you right to the elevator. Ours was super annoying. We wanted to be polite. By midweek because of reasons you will understand if you choose to keep reading, we finally told her we would not be returning to Dreams. Then she left us alone.

The grounds are lovely, the housekeeping staff very good. There is a pillow menu if you are in the Preferred Club. Our teen daughter got a different pillow every night. Our refrigerator was restocked with beer and soft drinks everyday. And some days packaged snacks would be left for us.

The location is excellent. Not a long ride the airport nor to either town.
The beach is unswimmable. Period. Don't even think about it.
There are a few vendors on the beach including a group with horses for horseback riding on the beach.

The pools are very nice. The bar service is good. There are scheduled events (pool games, archery, kids activities, organized sports, etc) that take place..... or don't. By that I mean, there is a daily schedule put out on the tv and on the daily activities sheet. Sometimes they happen and sometimes you go to the place and time and there's no one there to run the activity. Our daughter had a very good time as there were a lot of kids to hang out with.

If you've made it this far you are probably wondering about the dining here as it is an all inclusive and you'll be doing a lot of dining right?

Well the lovely poolside/oceanview restaurant is full every morning of salespeople sitting with guests who did agree to sit through the timeshare presentation. So that gets old fast. The other breakfast option is a very nice buffet. Mostly indoors but nice. And if you are lucky, there are a few outdoor tables looking at the ocean. It's an extensive buffet and there are self-serve bloody Mary's and mimosas.

The barefoot grill is on the beach and serves burgers, tacos, nachos, chicken sandwiches etc. all very good. Breakfast and lunch are average but really acceptable overall.

Dinner is quite a different story I'm afraid.
This review would go on FOREVER if I shared all of our experiences. The food at dinner was mediocre, at best. The service ran from ok to unacceptable.

Absolutely steer clear of the French restaurant. The Italian restaurant had slightly better food but really terrible service and zero atmosphere. The Mexican buffet night on the terrace was actually the best dinner we had all week. Dinner at the poolside restaurant was a disaster and at the seafood restaurant I didn't even get an entree when everyone was served and the server didn't even notice. We kept thinking it was coming and eventually asked. The server seemed completely surprised that I had no food. One night in the French restaurant we ordered appetizers, soups and entrees. After the appetizers they brought our entrees. We asked about our soups. They took our entrees and returned with soups. Next they brought our entrees. The same ones they had served 20 minutes before. Now cold and dry and terrible. We ended up leaving.
Yes. My husband spoke to the resort General Manager---twice during the week. He was apologetic and said it was due to staffing issues. Can't even relive the dinners any further.

The spa was nice. I had an aromatherapy massage and I was able to use $40 from the resort credit vouchers on my service. Great staff in a small but lovely spa.

We were part of the Preferred Club which gave us a few additional perks. Private lounge, concierge assistance, premium drinks in the lounge and upgraded amenities (soaps, lotions and pillow menu) in our room.

If this resort were not part of a time share and they could get their food service act together it would be a place we would consider returning. As it is, we will head back to the Caribbean or Bahamas when we are next looking for an all-inclusive resort.

I have been vacationing at Dreams Los Cabo dog almost 20 years and used to play a lot of tennis. Because of knee problems I had stopped for many years but after recent surgery decided to play again this year. I was fortunate to have Cristo Salazar as my instructor. He was very patient and after several days I was hitting the ball pretty well. He gave excellent instruction and taught me things about racquet position I had never learned before. Thanks ho Cristo, I had a great vacation and can not thank him enough for helping me get back to my game.
Dreams is lucky to have such an excellent instructor on their staff.

We had a terrific week at this resort. Beautiful spaces, very well maintained, food was okay, I did not rate five star tho and staff very friendly and helpful. My favorite bartender was Manuel in the lobby bar, Manuel the pool waiter was always there for us and remembered what we wanted, and the GREATEST KUDOS goes to HUGO in the entertainment department. Can't wait to go back.
