This location tops a few of the others at which I have stayed, by a country mile. The accomodations are the BEST, and the service is unequaled. But then Cabo as well as San Jose del Cabo are places where the people appreciate Americans.
English is spoken by nearly 99% of the people, which is a plus, and security is quite settling.

I have been to the Sheraton hotel and now the Hacienda del Mar for almost ten years, and enjoyed the time thoroughly.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent. A single story level is probably the most convenient for most folks.

We loved our stay at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Resort and Spa! What a beautiful property, built in a classic colonial style...lots of excellent photo opportunities. Beautiful ocean views from the restaurants and pools; watching the waves roll in was a favorite pastime. The vendors had tasteful merchandise and were not overbearing. Very charming staff...could not have been more friendly and helpful; you really get to know them over the course of a one week stay, and the curb team was fantastic...they took excellent care of our golf clubs! Loved the multiple restaurants on the property - our favorite was Girasole's! The food and evening views were spectacular. Everything on the menu is excellent; we loved the chorizo and melting cheese appetizer. An authentic queso.

Room Tip: Request a room that is above the other buildings. Even with an upgrade we were on the 2nd floor and...

I stayed here for the first time and really enjoyed it. The layout is villa-style and my room was spacious and had a balcony and large bathroom with a shower and a separate jacuzzi (room #3043). The grounds are beautiful with beach access and lots of swimming pools. The food establishments offer very good food and you even have access to the restaurants at the Vacation club on the same grounds. Activities are available and has a nice gym and Spa. The staff is warm, friendly and very helpful. Be sure to visit the Puerta Paraiso mall nearby and the marina outside of the mall; the hotel offers shuttle service to the mall for a nominal price. Private shuttle service is available from the airport at a great price but you have to book it two days in advance for your return trip to the airport. Taxi service is expensive and is heavily regulated in Los Cabos. This hotel is a great place to refresh and renew yourself and likewise for Los Cabos.

Room Tip: My room # was 3043 so ask for a room like that one (two queen beds). Don't know if the rooms in...

I spent 6 days here in mid september and loved the whole aspect of it. I normally stay in Sheraton properties and found it to be the usual standard of customer service which is always very good. However the rooms are dated and need some sprucing up!! The still capture the mexican ambience but brighter colours would be better for the rooms. I travelled with my husband and 6 year old son and we were given a great room for starwood members but the people above us were very noisy and we could here many noises in the middle of the night!!
The restaurants are great and breakfast too. We as Australians were a minority most of the time as Australians dont tend to go to this part of Mexico, the result of it being so close to the US is that everything is marketed towards the Americans, which would mean they would find it expensive by food standards. We found food cheap in the US, compared to australia. We loved cabo but a shuttle into town is your option or exorbitant taxi fares. we like to get out of the htoel and sample some food. We asked the waiting staff where to eat and all said "Mi Casa" in town, you must go the food is great! overrall a very positive experience at the sheraton, with some excellent staff. dont forget the cocktails for happy hour...a must!!

Everything was perfect. Very friendly, the hotel is really beautiful and comfortable. Excellent if you're in a family trip. The beach is not to slip into the sea because the waves are very strong, but still very nice. The pools are very clean and nice. The only downside is that the hotel food is extremely expensive, but we decided to eat out and asked the locals of places rich and value. We also buy food at Costco and it was very comfortable because you can take it to your room. If you like seafood I recommend you go to eat at a restaurant called "El Torito" is excellent and very good price. I mention the price matter much because the food price in Cabos is very expensive and not very good, I would say ok. Its beautiful scenery.

Room Tip: I think every room is great, is quiet and welcoming.

First of all let me tell you that this is an amazing hotel, grounds are espectacular, it's very private, very secluded, the architecture is amazing (there was a photo shoot for some magazine during my stay) and everybody goes the extra mile to help out. Everything in this hotel is "ocean view", from the pools, all restaurants, rooms..."ocean views" everywhere! They've got 5 pools the main ones being the "infiniti" type, 5 restaurants, all with good food, well served and everybody is so friendly and helpful.

The room we stayed at were Ocean Front, with a jacuzzi and they were luxurious, to say the least. There's a coffee maker and complimentary coffee provided every day, which is nice. Room had a (kind of small) balcony, but it served it's purpose well.

Now, let me give you a few pointers, cause even though the hotel is espectacular there are some downsides to it:

- The hotel is basically in the middle between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, so there's NOTHING within walking distance. A ride to Cabo San Lucas goes for a good $20 USD. Helpful Hint - It is a good idea to rent a car from the start, as you can get good deals online. Using cabs to move back and forth will really add up.

- Food in the restaurants is WAY overpriced. It's like "breakfast - 2 boiled eggs + coffee = $20USD. Even the tortilla chips served as entree, which are complimentary at most mexican places, go for a good $10USD here. Continental breakfast went for $22 USD. Beer $7, coctails went for $10. One can of soda goes for $5. This was really the biggest downside to the hotel, and I wish management would do something about it. To tell the truth, you really get the feeling that you're being ripped off, and I would have probably dined MORE at the hotel if there were more reasonable prices. I understand it's a luxury resort, but sometimes you're just in the mood for chips and beer, and not necessarily a gourmet dinner.
Helpful HInt - If you rented a car like I suggested, there's a VIPs restaurant (kind of Mexican "Dennys") 7 minutes on your way to Cabo. You can get a reasonable priced breakfast there. Also, there are some "OXXOs" (Mexican 7 Eleven) and even a WalMart right next to the VIPS restaurant where you can get a 12 pack of beer for 10USD. Buy yourself a small ice chest, plenty of beer, sodas, chips and such (milk if you have kids), take it to the hotel and you'll be all set...or go with the "all inclusive plan"!

- This is not a "spring break" hotel. Like mentioned above, this is very private and secluded. The hotel itself doesn't have a club like some other hotels do (only a sports bar). If you're looking for the big crowds and party atmosphere, stay somewhere else.

We did take the timeshare presentation, which was nice because they tour you around the hotel (it is soo big) and they give you a free breakfast (which at their prices, it's like a $100 USD value!). They were persistent, but respectful, we didn't feel harrassed at all.

Overall this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and if it weren't for the pricey restaurants I would definetely stay here on my next visit to Cabo.

Room Tip: All rooms are great to tell the truth. You can chose garden view and you'll still be pleased.
