“BEWARE”

My brother and I went to have a few days vacation. They hooked us into a Time Share Sale seminar the first day. Sat through the pitch. Would have been nice to know this before we booked at this location. Other than that it was ok. To touristy for me. Not the real Mexico. Ok if your just looking to sit on the beach for a few days. Better stay by the pool so the locals don't harass you to buy their wares.

Don't get stopped by anyone at the airport either. They trick you into thinking they are with your hotel. Only go outside to look for your transportation.

Room Tip: Rooms are nice.

We own a timeshare with the Villa Group and we are so glad we do!!! (You are not required to own a timeshare and you are not required to listen to a 90 presentation -- just say no thank you if you aren't interested). We have stayed at this location several times and the Puerto Vallarta location (looking forward to visiting the Cancun location in June). The Villa Group has WONDERFUL resorts... The spa is great too... Along with the gym...We have always been very happy with our stay. The grounds are always kept up, the pool is always clean, the staff is wonderful, food is great, service is always the best and the beach is AMAZING! We have stayed at many places in Mexico and this is by far one of the best resorts we have ever stayed on. The resort is close to the Marina and all the shopping places. It's easy to get a taxi from the resort. Getting to the resort from the airport is about a 20 minute ride and easy. Cabo is a wonderful place to go and make the most of your trip and walk down the beach to The Mango Deck and The Office... You can book adventures at the resort and they are very helpful with which adventures are better than others. There is a market at Villa del Palmer (which is walking distance away and a part of The Villa Group) so if you need anything from baby food to Depends, they have it all... There is a deli as well... Pool bars... and much much more! Also, be sure you go down to the marina and enjoy all the restaurants and shopping down there and the beauty of all the boats... You will be very happy you chose Villa Del Arcos or Villa del Palmar! Enjoy your stay and enjoy your vacation in beautiful Cabo San Lucas!

I thought the resort was really nice, we did all inclusive and I am not sure it was worth it. The food (other than the breakfast) was just mediocre to downright bad! It did seem to take awhile to get a drink at the pool. I did hear that there are some really good restaurants in town which is only a mile or so from the resort, but we felt since we had all inclusive we should just eat at the resort. We got a 1 bedroom villa which was perfect. The view was not great, but was not awful either. My husband said the bed was hard, but I slept really good. You can walk the beach to get to town or take a taxi for $7.00 or the bus for like 80 cents...buses run all day long. We rented a car and drove to Todo Santos, nice little town. I felt completely safe we just made certain we were back by dark. Oh and speaking of after dark, this places closes down by 8:00...nothing going on, so if you are looking for nightlife, you have to go into town.

Room Tip: Just ask! It can't hurt.

We spent one week in a Penthouse at Villa Del Arco with our 3 children ages 8, 11 and 12. It was one of the best weeks we've ever had! The hotel is on one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo, perfect location, the BEST pool and our unit was gorgeous! Wrap around deck, very spacious, all the amenities of a 5 Diamond resort with all the comforts of home! The staff is very friendly, professional, gracious and so helpful. Lucy, the GM knows her business! Israel at the pool is awesome. You will have personalized attention from the moment you arrive. You can also enjoy the other related resorts too. We loved being able to walk down the beach to enjoy other restaurants too and also the beach activities. Their spa is fabulous too! Our children didnt want to leave and neither did we!

When arriving first time or returning, you are greeted with the most wonderful staff ever..
Once in your room,( and every room is great.) you can see how beautiful the resort is...
The staff (waiters) at the pool side resturant are wonderful.Juan, Jesus, Suzy, Andreas,Jose and all the others they make your time at the pool fun and enjoyable. It does not take long and they all know you and you will feel like familly...Oto the manager of the Buccaneer (poolside resturaunt and bar) he is truly the best , he is there to take care of any questions..and they do have the best bartendars around. There is two other resturants on sight and they make your stay a pleasure. It is truly the place to go to relax, lounge by a beautiful pool or beach, not far from town for shopping and the views, well you just have to go..

My husband and I didn't really know what to expect. We booked our trip through Costco. Which is a Godsend when getting to and from the airport cause they have their own transportation. Anywho...we visited the Arco for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed the staff, they were super friendly and the sweet little gal running the morning buffet had our name down by day 3 of our trip (and I swear I would remember her name if I wasn't writing this 5 months late!). We both loved the resort it's self. Our room was gorgeous. We opted for the one bedroom suite. Definitely worth the upgrade in size and comfort. Oh and thanks to Alex for giving us the real ins and outs of the resort! I love when people talk to you like they're a friend and not like you're a job. He was great, total fountain of knowledge.

We decided not to do the all inclusive thinking we would be going into town and trying the local food more. However the walk to town is about 30-40 min...in 90 degree heat. We did take cabs into town on a couple of occasions especially at night. However that can get a bit pricey. After everything was said and done we ended up closing our tab at the end of the week for $186 USD, yes that's food and drink! Mind you that we did have $200 resort coupons from booking through Costco.

On to the only issues. Of course upon arrival we got asked to time share. We got asked again when we went through the lobby on one of our outings and again, and again and again. Basically anytime the sales rep saw us. I know they get commission from bookings, but the sales rep actually said to us, " I only get paid if you go, so what's an hour or two of your day?". I actually felt guilty for her, she was about our age and seemed really sincere and why not? By day 3 we'd been approached 4 times. But the BEST was when we got back to our room, were getting ready for dinner Friday night and the phone rings. Guess who. Yep. They were sales pitching us over the phone in our room at 8 pm. I couldn't believe it. Done. No wanting to hear this. Besides the nice boy who works for the excursions already clued us in on day 2. We're to young to really be worth it to them, we obviously don't make enough money. Hahhaha...ahhh it's great.

The only other thing I would say that might be a drag to others is that the resort ends at 8-9pm. By end I mean stops. It's like time stands still. We're not big partiers I didn't want some bouncy get trashed club, but I felt like I needed to walk around on my tip toes so as not to disturb the stillness of the night. It was S I L E N T.

All in all this place was pretty great. The food was good, the room amazing, the staff fantastic and the pools were very nice. This was a pleasantly relaxing vacation My husband was so in love with Arco he actually wanted us to sell our house, ship the dog down and move to Mexico. We'll be visiting the Riviera Maya side later this year, we'll see how they compare!

We recently stayed at the Villa del Arco in Cabo on the great Medano Beach. Overall the hotel is amazing. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, which was awesome, the space was great for four. My wife and I traveled with our 20 and 22 year old sons and the room was very spacious for us. The room has a beautiful patio deck that runs the full length of the room, great for early morning coffee and early evening drinks, very relaxing. Overall the service was good, but it is one area this hotel could get much better. It seemed to me that number of people working the pool areas were inadequate to service the amount of people that were at the pool. The rooms were emaculately clean. The pool itself is excellent and great place for everyone!!! The vicinity to the beach is great, but it is quite a walk to downtown, only did it once the rest of the time took a taxi ($7 a car load). My only compliant of this facility is our room was located on the third floor next to the water plant, which is very loud (similar to a very loud AC outside your window), but overall great place for everyone in our family, we had an amazing stay!!!
