I surprised my husband with a trip to Villa del Arcos for his 50th! I had stayed here last year with my girlfriends and decided to come back again. WE LOVED the food, drinks and staff at this place. First award for most attentive pool guy was Jorge (with the glasses), who ran his butt off to accommodate us! Second award is for Jorge *with the straw hat*, he brought us magazines to read when none were at the towel check in. Third award goes to the La Perla dinner staff who did an excellent job with dinners 4 out of 7 nights of our stay. Jonatan the Food and Beverage manager gave us "As you wish service" and even went above and beyond when my husband and his friends brought their catch of the day to El Faro and they made fresh ceviche and sushi for dinner one night. We didn't ask but were given an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. We didn't go to the concierge for our "WELCOME PACKAGE" when we checked in and weren't hassled about the time share....... The only flaws that I could find was that one day the pool was heated too warm! And one day workers were repairing tile the floor above us at 7 am! We were there from April 27th thru May 5th and will be back again and again.

This is a beautiful relaxing place. The room was wonderful, the service was great. It was a very calm place to be. The food in the restaurants was beautifully presented and excellent.

I agree with everyone who said to avoid the sales talk. Run, don't walk away from this! It went on a long time and I have had two phone calls since coming home even though I have said I wasn't interested. It is extremely annoying.

I was disappointed in the spa. It is beautiful but the facial was not that great.

Postive: The hotel is very nice with great rooms and wonderful views of the sea. The location is perfect and a very nice 15 min. walk to the marina. Bed is very comfortable and they have great verandas.

Negatives: After you check in at the front desk, run like crazy to your room with you key and AVOID the concierge desk! The front desk makes you think you have to go over and talk to them before going to your room and the reason they do this is because this is a Time Share Trap! Don't go to the concierge desk at all. Walk right past it, ignore them, tell them no, do whatever you need to get right to your room. All they want to do is sell you a worthless time share. Oh yes, they offer you free drinks, free breakfast, etc. then after listening to them for 15-20 min. they expect you to put up money for the "free" breakfast only to get you there to listen to a Time Share presentation. The food by the way sucks at this resort. Two of us got sick on the terrible food. Much better places to eat away from the resort.

Again...run as fast as you can with your room key past the concierge desk and go directly to your room. You will REGRET it if you stop and talk to them since they are like leaches once they have your attention.

Not sure if I would stay here again due to the blook sucking leaches that work the desk.

Room Tip: Corner room near the beach is great.

This is the third property built by timeshare company The Villa Group in Cabo. I own a one week timeshare, so I might be a little biased. However, this is my home away from home and I just love it. It's exceptionally clean, has a beautiful spa, great food at its restaurants, friendly employees.... Oh yeah, and it's on Medano Beach, the only swimming beach in Cabo! The units have a full kitchen allowing you to stock up on cervezas and chips and more from the grocery store located on the property. Washer/dryer in the condo, and huge balconies overlooking the pool, beach, or town. Tons of chases and umbrellas surround several pools where you can cool off, do water aerobics, play volleyball, or just float on a raft. This is a very kid-friendly resort, but adults can still find all sorts of trouble to get into! Enjoy your trip here.

Room Tip: If you aren't happy with the room they give you, just go back to the front desk and ask for a di...

Stayed at the Villa del Arco in a two bedroom 3 bathroom timehsare. We rented our unit from an owner on Redweek for a great price.
We did not have a great view, but did not ask to be moved. The unit was in decent shape but could have used more comfortable furniture. Beds were okay though. Bathroom and shower were nice.
We thought the service at the hotel was great, pool side waiters were always available and very friendly and helpful.
Resort was quiet at night, could not even find an open bar to get an after dinner cocktail.
We did not do the timeshare presentation, just said no each time we were asked. Used the spa one day for a massage and pedicure, was very nice.
All in all we had a great first trip to Cabo and hope to return soon!

Room Tip: Try not to get a room with a view of the canal.

Spent five nights at this resort/timeshare spot. All in all, it was a good choice for my wife and me given we never had been to the Los Cabos area and usually stay in simple hotels/motels. Having read several TripAdvisor reviews of the place we knew where the ideal rooms were and asked for those locations, but they put us elsewhere - a ground floor studio which had a blocked view out to the pool area, but that was OK. When we got there, an apparent concierge starts out telling you all the great things you might want to do at the hotel and the surrounding areas, but turns out she's shilling for the time share hucksters. We weren't expecting that and knew enough to say no, but my wife said yes because of all the potential discounts, buffet breakfast, and free drinks we would get by going through it. The 90-minute "presentation" turned out to be 3+ hours with some six people kissing up to us/grilling us, one at a time, and we politely saying "No" a thousand times till finally my wife said "My husband is getting very angry," and they finally gave up.

Plusses - the room was spacious, lovely. Everything is beautifully maintained throughout the hotel, quick walk or free trolley to the nearby Villa del Parma and Hotel Estancia. Location is very good particularly if you want to be able to walk to town (about a mile to the Marina) and local buses were available too for getting into Cabo San Lucas. The pool water is warm. The beach is lovely. We thought the restaurants were quite good and much better than the Villa del Palmar's.. Great views of El Arco and surrounding rock formations, the most beautiful natural sights of the area. Staff is friendly. Hotel is fairly quiet at night if you aren't there for the Spring Break scene and we weren't. And we had one incident where we apparently left the safe open (yes, incredibly stupid) with many valuables including cash in it and we don't think the housekeeper took a penny. Left her a huge tip for her honesty.

Minuses - Money hustles besides the timeshare pitch: on the hotel website they say the tap water is purified and safe to drink, but when you ask the hotel staff, they say "I wouldn't drink it." So then you have the choice of buying the bottled water that is one of the many items sitting in your kitchen and in the fridge that they tempt you with, but of course it's extra if you consume that stuff and there is no price list! Even the coffee is extra (but there is a "welcome package" when you arrive - which consists of packets of sugar, artificial creamer and faux-sugar - how generous!!!) Best solution - go over to the market at the Villa del Palmar and get the largest size available - about $4 and take it on the trolley back to your room. Will last about five days for two people. If you don't have a car that market is the best solution for buying other food stuff to make in your room as there are no other markets nearby. But of course their prices for everything were very high. Wi-fi was $11.10 per day, slightly less in quantity. The spa rates are ridiculous. Instead walk into town and find massages for far less (though we didn't try any of them, so don't know how safe). There's one on the road into town that looked attractive (and so did their masseuses), about 10 minute walk from the hotel, on the right side of the street and they were doing massages for $25 for 50 minutes, approximately one-quarter of what the hotel spa was charging.

Other minuses - website says there is a "VCR and CD player" in every room. There wasn't in ours. The TV was low-def. I didn't sleep well on the mattress - too soft, but I had a general back problem when there. Still noticed problem went away on my home mattress.

But I suppose the other resort hotels have similar minuses without the location plus. Los Cabos is expensive. All in all a very good trip and hotel.
