This location is nice and sequestered, about a 7 min drive to the Marina which is where all the action is.

If you're going you need to know a few things.

1. The 9 a day "tips for gardeners etc" is optional and kinda a bogus charge. You have an option to decline this charge when you check in. Make sure to decline this charge.

2. If your time share company books using Interval International you need to contact Interval prior to going to confirm that the 17 dollar a day charge doesn't apply to you. They tack this charge on when you're checking out and they won't let you leave (literally) unless you pay it.

3. Maid service is NOT included in the time share and may be $35 USD per day. Check other reviews for more info - we didn't use a maid because of this.

4. The place is nice, but you will need a car to fully enjoy Cabo. Unless sitting by a pool all day every day is your idea of fun. The all inclusive cost is $85 per person per day. Dominic Los Cabos http://dominicloscabos.com has the best deals and best service in this regard.

5. There really is only one legit "resturant" The other areas are burgers etc. and generally just so-so.

6. There is no oven. So, everything you cook will either be microwave or stove.

7. There is no swimming in front of the hotel - the beach is not safe because of the currents. Seriously. I heard a guy saying he snorkles some about 20 feet out - but it's not safe looking at all.

8. Factor in a few bucks here and there for tips for when you get your car and drop off your car.

9. They have two pools, but the good one is in front of phase 1 where you won't really be unless you're an owner, or it's a slow time of year.

10. Rent a car. The cost for 2 people to get a shuttle from the airport is $25 per person each way. So, $50 total for one person. With 2 people the cost is a total of $100. A car rental from http://dominicloscabos.com is about $300 and includes mexican car insurance.

Room Tip: 4261 and 4262 were nice rooms. There are five floors total.

these are the burns that i sustained while at the Hacienda Encantada, Cabo. Painful, second degree burns that blistered and scarred my arm; all from a broken coffee maker in our room. we complained; they ignored. we hired an attorney; they ignored. we've called and have written letters; they have ignored. we have left messages for people to call us back; they have ignored. we have hand delivered a letter to the manager of sales, being assured the letter would be delivered to the developer's son the next day; two days later the letter was still in the drawer. undelivered. i have been told by the concierge that "señorita, those aren't second degree burns." but if fact they were.... and the pictures prove it. pictures don't lie. but concierges do.
now i ask YOU, if you went on vacation, paid good hard earned money to stay at an "enchanted" hacienda, got burned from a bum piece of equipment in your 'luxury' resort room, and then were subsequently ignored for almost a year, when attempting to establish contact.... would you be frustrated too? would you ever consider returning to this resort? the hacienda encantada refuses to step up and acknowledge the injury i received at their resort. as a hard working american (like you) when i vacation at a 'luxury' resort, i have an expectation of safety. i expect appliances in the room to work safely. i expect to use those appliances without being injured and burned. am i any different than you????
i am saddened that the hacienda encantada has not taken the time or effort to accept some responsibility and try to resolve this situation. i have no other choice but to write this review and encourage all potential Cabo vacationers to stay away from this resort.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere

This place was empty and quiet when we decided to go. I guess it was during the slow season which I actually liked because at times it felt that we were the only ones there. The shuttle service always available when we needed it but we chose to walk most of the time. The front desk was always helpful and answered all the questions we had. The bad parts of the trip were when we got to the hotel they did not have our room ready which seemed strange to me considering the place was so empty. We ended up waiting well over an hour to finally get into our room, we made the best of it by eating down by the infinity pool with an amazing view. My other complaint was the food servers throughout the entire place. There are only three places that we ate, we ate at both pools and Maria's. Every single time we went to eat we were ignored by the servers. We had to call for them to help us out most of the time, this was surprising because the place was so empty that I figured that we would be getting great service. The food at Maria's was also nothing to write about, it was ok but not too good. Another thing is that if you take their shuttle into town you have to pay $5 each way otherwise you would have to pay the taxis $20 each way so unless you have a car you are gong to have to pay to get to and from town so be prepared. So the grounds are nice and maintained but the food service wasn't very good. I probably would not stay here again if we were to return to Cabos but we made the best of the week we had there. Oh and by the way try your best to make your way out of the airport without being stopped by the vacation rental guys trying to get you to take a tour with them, it is absolute madness exiting the airport. Have Fun!

You’re told to walk down a big hill with your luggage (in HOT/HUMID weather) so please pack light….

And this leads me to my one BIG complaint; we were told we had to walk down a hill with our luggage since the hotel would not allow the shuttle service to pass the front gate as we had our arranged the shuttle service outside of the hotel. Mind you, they were able to drop us off with front door service. This was completely beyond me.

Besides that....
The staff was AWESOME!
The food….well mediocre especially if you are eating poolside or the buffet.
The rooms are comfortable & nice (unless yours happens to smell of mildew and sewer, lovely combination I know). They did try to fix this issue and we were compensated for this inconvenience with a bottle of wine & fruit basket.

You are definately paying for a secluded hotel which is nice, a little far from town so the taxi/shuttle can definitely add up if you are heading into town daily. There really isn’t beach access. Other than that it was a nice overall stay. Friendly staff members and good service always make up for the little flaws in the end.

Happy Travels~

My husband and I just returned from our Cabo trip. The Hacienda Encantada was great and horrible all wrapped into one. I will try and give the best all around feedback I can.

The Great-
The rooms are perfect. We loved our very spacious 2 bedroom villa. The balconys are huge and a great place to read, relax and listen to the waves. I laid on the couch/banco every afternoon to read.
The Food. -We choose to do the All Inclusive for 3 day's during our trip. I'm so glad we did because the food was fantastic. We only had two options for food Maria's and the pool but I can't say anything bad. I truly enjoyed everything I had.
The View- The location of this resort being built on the side of a cliff gives you great views. Especially when eating breakfast or dinner at Marias.
Timeshare- We knew we did not want to participate in a 4 hour tour of the property so we politely opted out of the Timeshare presentation. I must say that after reading all the reviews I was expecting to be asked over and over. That was not the case. They only asked at check-in as they do with everyone so be prepared and one other time. We polietly declined and they never bothered us again. We are very happy Marriott owners and don't wish to purchase more timeshare.

The Not so bad-
The dreaded carts. Come on people they are not that bad. Most of the time we choose to walk and get the excersize. When you do need one you call the front desk and they come right away.
Fitness Center- Just an ok fitness center. Equipment is old and outdated but usable. The only problem we had was the AirConditioner in that room does not work well. We inquired and were told it was working. As long as you don't mind REALLY sweating while you work out then you'll be fine. I opted to run around the property between 7am-8:30 each morning. Due to the property being bult on a cliff the hills of the property are quite challenging. If you do run make sure you go all the to the front gate.

The bad-
Due to renovation Phase 1 was closed. This also included the infinity pool, spa, and restaurant.
The resort was so empty that they closed entire buildings. This included everything down to turning off the lights on the building at night. They also unscrewed everyother light bulb on the entire property to save money. At times the resort felt like we were the only ones there. This gets a liitle weird when you are the only one at the pool or the only ones in the Restaurant. We felt like we were making a scary movie. Ha Ha
Distance and cost to downtown. If you choose to book this resort and don't rent a car please remember you will pay

Room Tip: I would say building 1 or phase 1. Currently the entire building is under renovation and closed. A...

My mom and I stayed here for 4 nights for a mother-daughter trip. We absolutely loved this place!! The rooms were beautiful and had a great view of the ocean. The staff was all so friendly and remembered us by name on the second day. We loved the food at the poolside bar. It was unbelievable! We also loved the breakfast buffet! There wasn't much to do at night, but that was fine with us as we were just looking to relax. If you are looking for night life, then this probably isn't the place for you. The infinity pool was wonderful and we had such a relaxing time just laying out overlooking the ocean. We would definitely stay here again!!

The service was excellent. We didn't eat much at the resort restaurant, but we made our own food in the kitchen in our Studio (kitchen was decent size for the studio). When we did eat, we only ate breakfast and the buffet was awesome. This resort actually owns another resort at the marina called "Marina Fiesta Resort" and there are about 5-6 restaurants there that are owned by this resort company so if you get coupons from the resort, you can eat at the marina too.

The room was very clean and relaxing. For the first day and a half, we sat on our balcony (it was nice to just get away from normal life and relax). The studio was fairly big and way plenty for two people. The bathroom was large, equipped with a whirlpool tub and a very large stone-tiled shower (loved taking showers there).

Pools were nice and so were the hot tubs. There is a mini store onsite that has some good food. Walmart and Costco are about 2 miles down the road.

This resort is located a few miles away from downtown Cabo San Lucas, which is nice. Low noise. There is no beach there, but you can walk down to the shore line and climb all over the large boulders. That was nice just sitting on top of one of the boulders and looking out over the ocean.

When I was there, they were still building many parts of the resort. The entrance was a temporary gravel road but now I see they have finished their grand entrance. I am coming back.

The only thing we found amusing, if complaining about, was the guy who would sing and play guitar sometimes sounded like he shouldn't sing everything he could play. :)

I will also say this, I have seen just a few complaints on tripadvisor about this place and I did not have any experiences like those who complained. While I was there, there was a lady that was yelling at the top of her lungs like a spoiled brat wanting something for free (her kids were with her). Those people I care not to be around. This was a relaxing place for my wife and I.
