We stayed at the Alegranza in October, after checking different places & reading reviews which we always do before booking our holidays we decided on the Alegranza The reviews for us are very important on our decisions they have always been very accurate so we have always been extremely pleased with our vacations so far. We have never stayed in a condo for a month before, so we were apprehensive at first about if we would enjoy it there. we also wanted to walk pretty much everywhere & use local transport for a change.. Beach, High Street, & shopping are all 15-20 mins walk. & buses to Los Cabos are frequent & cost a few peso"s . So if your looking for a quiet place to relax. you will have a fabulous vacation here, you can always use 3 Hotels near by for more entertainment also they have many restaurants which are very nice . Everyone at the Alegranza were so pleasant & helpful so many names too mention made our vacation enjoyable so we definitely would recommend Alegranza to all our family & friends & hope to go back there again so thank you once again to everyone at the Alegranza for making us feel so welcome & safe . you all did a excellent job ! .

Room Tip: We stayed in room 402 on the fourth floor & we had a stunning view of the Sea of Cortez.

We stayed at the Alegranza as part of a wedding party & held the ceremony out the terrace of our suite overlooking the ocean. We had the wedding meal catered in our room and was fantastic. The accommodations are well appointed & views are spectacular. There are three pools for use, which were all lovely. If the beach is important, note that it is about a 15 min walk. Casiano's provided the catering and although pricey was well worth it.
Where Alegranza shines is their staff. Everyone awesome! As the reason for our trip was a wedding, there was a great deal of planning & preparation prior to the trip & many details during our stay. I can't say enough about Lucy (concierge). She was remarkable prior to & during our stay. Very professional, knowledgable & efficient. Although Alegranza does not have a spa, she was able to put me in touch with all the appropriate companies to make the wedding day a success (spa, hair & make-up services, florist & catering).
Javier who looked after security, maintenance, etc was also wonderful. Very professional, efficient & accommodating. All of the staff made you feel at home and were always available when we needed them & made us feel valued.
I would recommend the Alegranza if you are looking for more of a quiet relaxed atmosphere. This is a condo, not a resort party atmosphere. Just what we were looking for.
Great job!

Hi

Just a short notice to tell you that we just recently opened the Spa area, with a steam room, dry Sauna and massage area. It is located in the new gym right across the tennis court and it is open 24 hours a day at no cost

Research and due diligence paid off. Our month-long stay at Alegranza was very nice and relaxing.

Management & Staffing provided excellent service! Concierge / Front Desk / Maintenance / Housekeeping / Front Gate ~ Javier, Lucy, Esther, Giselle, Diego, Fernando, Sergio, to name a few, were all so friendly and professional and accommodating. They responded to our needs in a prompt and courteous manner. They offered great suggestions for local restaurants and services and sites. They welcomed us so graciously and made us feel at home.

We walked everywhere from Alegranza ~ going downhill was a piece of cake ~ walking back up may have been tough but we managed and it sure helped with our daily exercise. The walks in all directions (beach, markets, downtown) only took 10-15 minutes before we reached our destination.

Our ocean view two bedroom two bath penthouse was outstanding ~ tastefully decorated and well-kept ~ the views were spectacular. We liked the quiet surroundings and the local feel. Alegranza located on a beautiful hilltop above the San Jose golf course is definitely a go to condo away from the busy resorts in Cabo San Lucas ~ if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation with all the perks of a resort hotel try Alegranza.

Thank You Alegranza Family!

This is more of a condo complex than a resort.... Great views, good unit.....it sits on top of a hill, but you are a 15 minute walk to the ocean.... you can walk into San Jose as well.
It is in a residential area with other full time residents... cars, dogs, kids, etc........

If you are looking for a condo for an extended stay, this is a great place, but if you are looking for a resort vacation.. there are much better options that are on the beach.

Greetings!

Thanks for your review and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
Regarding your comment about the beach access. BEACH is PUBLIC in Mexico so you can go to any beach you want no matter there is a hotel. In between hotels, there are always paths to go to the beach. Regarding swimmable beaches, in San Jose, people usually go to Acapulkito beach or Palmilla. There are no condos there and people take the car to go there. We are 5 min drive from there. We are 2 min drive from 3 surfing spots as well: zippers, la bocana which you can see from your terrace and pescadito

Hope you can come back and enjoy the views again!

We were amazed by the beauty of the condo and the personal attention we received from the staff. It is a wonderful place to stay. We recommend you bring your own bathrobes. I recommend the stock the frig with water for future guest, There was a welcome bowl of salsa and homemaid torilla chips awaiting our arrival. The bowl of salsa was a great idea, but did was not labeled and we didn't know it contained shrimp. My husband is allegeric to seafood and it made for an adreneline rushing arrival after he had a salsa dipped chip. Luckily, the staff was quick to provide us with bottled water and we had Benedryl tablets with us. He was uncomfortable for awhile, but recupperated after his Benedryl induced nap.

Room Tip: If you are going as a group, book a penthouse condo in the newer buildings. There is wonderful outdo...

If you are looking to rent a condo in SJC that is off the popular hotel highway, this is it. I did a lot of research and found that Alegranza was the perfect place for our June vacation. Everything that I read in TA was completely true, clean, spacious, well equipped etc....these are privately own condos that are rented to travelers when the owners are back in the US or Canada. First of all you can contact the concierge directly. Lucy was the one that I dealt directly. I made my reservation directly with her, she was so easy to work with, very accommodating and extremely professional. We were picked up from the airport by one of Alegranza's drivers. They charge $40 for up to 5 people. The driver was waiting for us at the airport with a sign that had our name on it. He took us directly to Alegranza. We tipped him $5 dollars. Beware that there a lot of "time share/activity people" at the airport that will aggressively approach you offering their services, so just politely say "No Thanks" don't be rude as they are just doing their job. OK so back to Alegranza, we were greeted by Lucy when we arrived and we finished the transaction with her there at the office. Paid the balance and then she personally took us to the condo. E420 was our condo address. WOW!!! Huge two bedroom, two full bathrooms, huge closets, dining table, 2 couch living room, three TVs, wonderful air conditioner, sliding glass doors in each bedroom and living room, balcony from one end of the condo to the other, BBQ grill on the balcony, washer/dryer combination. The kitchen which is important had frig, micro, coffee maker, toaster oven, stove/oven, dishwasher, 8 place settings of dishes, cups, bowls etc...wine glasses, regular glasses, cooking utensils, silverware, pots, pans, cutting boards. I know this is a lot of info but I think it is important since I was wondering if I should take stuff from my own kitchen. I did end up buying a small knife for cutting fruit and a sponge for washing the dishes. They do have trash bags, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and paper towels. Bring some dryer sheets if use them as they do not have any there. OK, the property is located on a hill that overlooks the Sea of Cortez to the east and the town of SJC to the west. You can actually see the ocean from our balcony and the beautiful sunrises. Try to get a top level condo, they are quieter and the views are awesome. Walking to downtown is about 20 minutes. It is quite a hike up the hill on the way back. Some reviewed mention walking to Mega is close but, walking back with a bunch of groceries can be challenging. If you are in good shape...great. If not, there are taxis that will drive you back to Alegranza for $5 US. The taxis park their cars towards the back of the store. They are usually yellow/orange vans. If you want to golf, spa, sail or fish, the concierge can make all of the arrangements for you. Because Alegranza is not a beach front property, they have an agreement with Cabo Azul and two others beachfront resorts (sorry I can't think of the names) for day pass. We paid $20 each and we were able to enjoy the gym, pool, beach lounges under the palapas and swim up bar for the day. It was worth it since laying under a shady palapa was so relaxing!! We eventually decided to rent a car since we wanted to drive to Cabo San Lucas and to our golf/spa day at the Palmilla. Lucy arranged a car to be delivered to Alegranza. It was $50 per day and we returned on our way to the airport. Overall it was a great experience!! I will definitely return and will take more family members. Please read my review of Casiano's, the restaurant on the Alegranza property.

Room Tip: The higher up your condo is, the quieter it will be. Also the views are better on the higher floors.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Alegranza, returning again this year for a month to visit friends we made after we spent 6 months here a few years ago. The location, facilities and staff make this a truly relaxing place for us to spend family time. We have stayed in different apartments each time, always in Alegria block, and each one has been well furnished and set out. We like the new restaurants although prices (at the pool restaurant) are noticeably higher than a few years ago. We cannot thank the concierge staff enough for their patience and expertise and look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor for the views, they are stunning.
