“Pleasant surprise!”
Reviewed 4 May 2012

We chose this hotel based on price, reviews, and proximity to airport, and it suited our needs precisely! We took the Cabo Express shuttle bus from the airport, $13 US each. By the way, US dollars are accepted almost everywhere, but your change will be in pesos. The facility is just what you would expect of a Best Western, attractive, clean and pleasant, with terra cotta tiles, white walls, and uncluttered decor. The desk staff was friendly, spoke English, and didn't laugh at our attempts to resurrect our high school Spanish. Almost all of the rooms are on the second floor, and there is no elevator, but there are always porters available to carry your gear. The first room we stayed in was small, had one bed with a wonderful pillow top mattress, a TV with a few English channels, and was immaculately clean. No view, but we had little time to enjoy one anyway. On the return stay, our room was larger and had a view of the ocean several miles away, had two queen beds with traditional mattresses, and again, was immaculate. Even though it faced the 4-lane street, we had no problems with noise. While we didn't use the pool, it looked very clean and resort-like, and was on the upper level away from the street. We ladies walked down the busy street to WalMart and various stores and felt quite safe. The included breakfast cooked to order was very good, and in fact we ate at the same little restaurant one evening. The restaurant has computers on the upper level with internet, so we were able to access our boarding passes. The next morning we printed our boarding passes at the front desk. The desk staff called a taxi for us, $20 US to the airport.

All of this being said, here are the pros: VALUE! CLEAN! WALMART a few blocks away! Nice staff. Internet. Hot breakfast. Air conditioned. Cons: Not a self-contained resort destination. Few dining choices in neighborhood. No elevator. No beach.

We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, think twice about staying here. Our rooms were a good walk away, and r...

Far from the luxury of the posh all-inclusive 5star resorts that most people come to Cabo San Lucas for... but also far from the price. Rooms are small but comfortable and with a nice breakfast included. Really fits the value equation perfectly! Not a place to stay for those looking to completely veg out on a trip, meaning it's not the ideal place for most who come to visit Cabo. But for those looking for a different path, stay here and rent a car (<$30/day). Since so few tourists drive anywhere, really opens flexibility to explore the limited parts of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

A 10min walk from the "historic" San Jose del Cabo district, and 20min drive from Cabo San Lucas - parking is very easy to find everywhere for free.

Room Tip: stay on a higher floor... the pool is on floor 2 and can get noisy in the mornings (if you've be...

Just returning from San José... the hotel is ok if you want to be in the city...which I wanted.
My room was nice, clean with a confortable king size bed. The staff was ok too but ...
the breakfast which was included in the prize was very bad with only two choice of breakfast...no fruits or fresh juice...I had to pay extra for that... the pool area was very
simple...the water to COLD. No cushions on the plactic chairs. That area could certainly
be improve. But in all I enjoyed my stay there...

Room Tip: Very simple hotel but clean and good size room. Not recommanded for the food and the swimming pool...

I never thought I'd stay in a Best Western in Mexico but did for the convenience of its proximity
to the airport- we'd come from La Paz and were returning our car and flying out the next after-
noon. Nice surprise! We had a little suite with cooking gear and fridge we didn't need to use, we
were close to the pool which was cool but refreshing and clean. The complimentary breakfast in
the nearby dining room wasn't much, but we'd been eating more than usual anyway! Nice to be
offered something ( eggs & tortillas ) other than Froot-Loops... the entire place was scrupulously
clean and all interactions with staff smooth and friendly. Walmart is across the busy street! Noise
was not a problem. Recommended!

Room Tip: Get a room at the back- we requested and got one ( based on other reviews ) and noise was not a pro...

Hotel is in a good location. It is on the highway near the Walmart and Mega store. The onsite restaurant is actually outside of the hotel and about 50 yards away. The room we had looked nice, but the blinds in the living room did not close. The room was on the back side so, road noise was limited. The hotel is not the place to stay if you want to see San Jose del Cabo. It is too far from any real local activities.

We stayed one night here, before catching our flight back to the states the next morning, after spending a week at a beach house in Loreto, Mexico. The room was clean, and once the a/c cooled it down, was nice and cool. There is a small patio off the room, but no chairs, so if you want to spend any time out there, I guess you have to stand. The shower does not get hot water, only warm, but since we had been in so much heat, that did not bother us much. It is above a strip mall, but it seemed sound proof enough. The breakfast that was included was somewhat of a disappointment. It is a very limited menu, in Spanish only with employees that spoke no English. The front desk was bi lingual, that was helpful, and very friendly. There are places to eat close by, but you need a car if you want to get to the closest public beach. The free internet is nice. All of the stairs can be a bit much to carry your luggage out when you leave. The pool is nice and clean, but always seemed to be full of a lot of people, so we did not use it much, even after the supposed closing time of 10pm. The noon check out time is nice.

I stayed at Suites Las Palmas for one night after leaving home earlier than planned to meet up with my husband. I booked this hotel last minute because of its location and reasonable price. The resort we were staying in (Melia Cabo Real) did not have availability so needed a hotel near the airport where I could spend the night before heading to the resort the following day. This hotel has a great location just minutes away from the airport. When you arrive at the airport (which I did at 10:30PM after my flight was delayed) you can take a shuttle for $10USD that drops you off at the door of the hotel. There is also the local bus (Suburcabos) which has two stops in front of the hotel which take you to downtown Cabo during the day (for only a couple of $UDS). I took this bus to go to the resort the following morning and it very easy and convenient.

The hotel itself is very basic. No luxuries but it was clean and safe. They do provide free coffee with the coffee maker in the room, unlike what other posts stated, which came in handy. They had free WiFi which was great! Check in and check-out was a breeze and there is a bank just a couple of doors down where you can get money from an ATM or have USD exchanged as long as you have your passport.

Overall a simple but clean hotel with friendly staff. As a female traveling alone I felt safe and found the transportation to and from the hotel convenient.
