“A MUST STAY in CABO”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

This little hidden hotel is spectacular in so many ways. We didn't have the good fortune of staying our entire trip here, but the next time we definitely will. Each room is like a private casita, overlooking a beautiful beach with incredible views of the sea. The food is unparalleled in the area for those who just love the freshest fish, salads, lovely breakfast, and general good spirit of California meets Mexico. Surfing is great and done at all levels so no need to feel intimidated or made to feel out of place.

The rooms - which I had the chance to peek at - from small to casita - are lovely with wonderful little terraces, ocean views, gardens. A truly out of the way place and unexpectedly beautiful secret find.

My husband surfed while our 4 year old son and I played on the beach and had wonderful lunches and breakfasts. There's jazz and other events at night. We're definitely coming back as this is a truly authentic experience in Cabo away from all the commercialism and vastness of other properties. Something really special. Many people come from far and wide just to sit on the terrace restaurant for lunch, breakfast and dinner. A must stay if you haven't already.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the Casitas off to the right of the main building or ask for an ocean front/facing ro...

Just returned from a two-week stay at the Cabo Surf Hotel. The hotel is very nice. We had a king shore room on the third floor. The bed was very comfortable, the food was good, and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Especially appreciated Jesus and Carlos and the woman who cleaned our room. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is too far from town to walk, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel. Besides surfing, the highlights of our trip were taking the water taxi to the arches with a stay at the beach, a wonderful meal at Flora Farms, and my husband's hang glider tour with Ernesto, who owns Cabo Sky Tours. Carlos got us a good deal on a car rental and we enjoyed driving around the area for three days. Found the driving conditions to be similar to the US - not like other Mexico locations we have visited. Although Cabo in general is more expensive than other Mexico destinations we have visited, we had a wonderful trip.

The only boutique hotel on the Cabo San Lucas to San Jose del Cabo corridor, the Cabo Surf is a gem: small scale; attention to detail; brilliant location; superb pool; amazing restaurant; great views; outstanding service; spacious room.
A bit on the pricey side, but this aspect easily forgiven!!

Hotel and Staff were GREAT. Food at seven seas was nice for fast bite but not very good. Be careful of what the cabs charge you. If you take a cab and the hotel calls it for you expect to pay twice the going rate. Some kind of "deal" between hotel and cabbies. There is no cab stand near by so your kinda screwed. Best to have Pesos with you and pay with it because of the conversion rate things get kinda confusing since they (hotel services) expect payment in pesos and they dont take AMEX

We did not know they charge double. All we know is taxis in Los Cabos are overpriced in general. The reason is that all belong to a union. But, to avoid any misinterpretation, we will write a rate sheet for our guests so that everybody knows the official rates and oritect them from fraud. Thank you for your adivice!

We were lucky enough to get tickets to the Sammy Hagar Birthday Bash on Wednesday night so we arrived on Tuesday. Several friends recommended one of the larger all-inclusive hotels, but we wanted peace and privacy. The staff was expecting us and we got our room keys and drink tickets in less than 5 minutes and were on our was to the room. This hotel is beautiful, with great views and easy access to the beach. We loved the intimate feel. The food was fresh and staff was excellent. Waking up to the sunrise and waves crashing on the beach was amazing. We will absolutely go back and we might even bring our kids next time, if they're lucky.

Thank you and that brings a reminder for us that we should always be grateful to our guests for the chance to make a difference in their vacation. There are other hotel options in town and we should strive to make a good impression as the boutique beach resort we intend to be. We hope the kids are lucky and we see them soon!

My daughter and surfing son-in-law just married here in Sept. 2013! The hotel is upscale yet small enough to make it quaint. You feel like family while there. The rooms, spa and grounds are intimate and immaculate with 2 pools overlooking the sea. We also had 5-9 yr. olds who enjoyed both pools and the jacuzzi. The staff is super accommodating and friendly, making all feel welcome. A special thank you to Martha for her helpfulness (and patience) in making this wedding all we could ever hope for and more. She also recommended a Florist, DJ and Photographer who all delivered service above and beyond our expectations. Thank you Cabo Surf Hotel for an amazing and unforgettable memory!! Can't wait to come back and just relax!

Room Tip: Stayed in a double-bed garden suite in front of the lawn area on the corner. Lovely patio with view...

Ever since we started with the food and bar service over 10 years ago, weddings started to parade in. We felt honored to have been chosen by your group to host such an important event in your lives. We love to participate in the joy, thank you for the review!

The Cabo Surf Hotel is a very cool, unpretentious place that is great for a weekend getaway of beach and surf. Unlike many resorts, the beach is accessable and there is a great break right offshore (Old Man's). Food and service are excellent. Drawbacks: no WIFI in rooms; you have to go to the small lobby if you do not have international cellular service. Air conditioning is loud - you have to choose between sleeping in the heat or with the loud A/C running. ALthough the hotel is right on the highway, we did not hear it at all.

Room Tip: It looks like the upper rooms might get more highway noise, as they are closer.

Thank you for sharing your experience and helping us improve. We decided to face the wifi challenge head on and we are installing individual access points in every room and will maintain the service free of charge. We are half way now and should be fully completed in November. We will find the room making noise in the air conditioning. We installed new highly efficient equipment this year and that shouldn't be happening. We are lucky the noise of the highway is not an issue because the hotel seats below near beach level and the highway goes 30 feet above.
