Oh my!! Their pancakes and french toast are to die for. Although the portion size is rather large (3 HUGE pancakes) it fed me for breakfast and lunch, and for a reasonable price. Right off the highway behind Walmart, makes this place a little quieter and not so jam packed full of tourists. Also the eating area looks like a tropical retreat as opposed to a palapa across from a concrete superstore. The fresh fruit is amazing and we have never been disappointed. Our waitress was so sweet and just awesome. Well worth a walk if you're staying near the beach in the hotel/condo zone as it only takes 15 minutes (for fast walkers).
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes breakfast, and lots of it.

I rated it as $$ for cost as it is more expensive than breakfasts downtown (at Molly's or Shooters) but it is very well priced for the quality and quantity.

Wow, a great surprise. We were directed to the pancake house from a local who lives in San Jose del Cabo. We walked around and eventually found it close to wal-mart in a local community district. It is a Palapa restaurant like many in San Jose. It is very clean. We both had pancakes with fresh fruit. Awesome, fluffy and filling, better than any pancakes we have had at home in Calgary. Large menu selection and very cheap, cost us about $15.usd. good service and highly recommend stopping by this fantastic breakfast spot in San Jose. The even brought us a coat-purse stand over to our table.. :-) cheers and enjoy..T&A

Read about it in local news and gave it a try. We parked in WalMart underground and walked block to the restaurant that was packed with locals. Very laid back and service Mexico slow but the pancakes and French toast were amazingly delicious and worth the wait. We will definitely be returning during our stay in the corridor. Prices more than reasonable. Want a wholesome meal give it a try.

Our three teenagers enjoyed the Mexican equivalent of a Grand Slam: two eggs (they all ordered 'over easy'), two thick 'fluffy' pancakes (at least 8" in diameter), and two strips of bacon for 59 pesos each. My wife enjoyed Huevos Rancheros: 3 eggs on a corn tortilla, red sauce, delicious refried beans, and potatoes (steamed and sautéed with basil and garlic - yum) for 69 pesos. I ordered the Granjero 3-egg omelette (avocado, spinach, cheese, substituted onion for mushrooms), and I requested salsa and crema (better than American Sour Cream) which they brought as sides (free). My omelette also came with the refried beans and basil potatoes, all for 79 pesos. The coffee was typical Mexican cafe, and they also had brown sugar on the table in addition to Splenda and regular sugar. We enjoyed three large Mango smoothies and a large fresh OJ for 35 pesos each, and fresh lemonade for 25 pesos. Our total cost including IVA (tax) and tip was 600 pesos. The ambiance was very nice. The restaurant is essentially a covered patio or palapa enclosed by bamboo and greenery. Our young waitress and waiter were very personable and accommodating. I think the review dissing this place should be removed. The floors weren't dirt, nor did the place look run down. The food, service, and venue were perfect. This was our first morning in SJC, so we can't compare this restaurant to others here, but we will definitely return again after we have checked out French Riviera, Tropicana, and a couple of eateries we passed on our 2-mile walk from our hotel (Cabo Azul Resort) to El Pancake House. Afterwards we walked to the corner and picked up everything we need for snacks, happy hours on our balcony, smoothies, burgers, sandwiches, cereal, popcorn, etc. The taxi ride back to our hotel for five and groceries was $7.
