We have always stayed here, last 12 visits or so but totally agree with the prior reviews. Lounge chairs full at 6:30 am, conventions make you feel like you never left home...blah blah blah is all you hear at the restaurants, needed a shot of tequila but now the price of that has gone up to $16.00 as are all cocktails. Yes rooms and staff are great but wow, could not wait to get home this time, wanted to leave a day early but we couldn't. Also, for the now large capacity of business conventions, you need to wait until 10:30 am or later if you want to workout.

So sad, loved it but prices are sky high now and this has become a business convention resort.

My wife and I just spent two nights here April 3-4 and found this hotel to be a crowded disappointment. This was our second stay here (the first six years ago) and found it to have the same problems. The rooms are decent, but it's a noisy hotel and the constant convention and/or company groups overpower the property. The pool area is so crowded with the loungers literally stacked on top of each other that it is nearly impossible to get spots and as the hotel allows people to save loungers by throwing a towel on them the big groups come out literally at 6:00 am and save all the chairs--both mornings we were up at 6:30 am to walk the beach and there were NO loungers available poolside--only up the pathways or down below--totally unacceptable! The poolside restaurant was not bad with a good menu and the food was good. The breakfast buffet is very average and was typically way too busy so we opted to go to Las Ventanas for breakfast and have a much better and tastier breakfast with superb service and no buffet lines. The location of the Hilton is midway between Cabo and San Jose del Cabo so you have a $20-15 USD taxi ride either way. The beach area is however nice with a small protected bay for swimming as well as a nice lounging area with a decking path to get there...the only lowlight is the horse pen adjacent so the smell of horses, etc. wafts up to the lounging area when the wind is right. Overall, the staff is well trained and professional, but the packs of screaming kids and constant crowds make this a less than enjoyable place if you're looking for a relaxing stay. Also, don't pay extra for Ocean front rooms as the views from the Ocean view rooms are just as good if not better. The Spa was a nice surprise, but again the overall pool experience--which was the same thing we experienced during our last stay, will keep us from staying here again. Unless you're using Hilton points there are better options in Los Cabos.

This is a really nice full service hotel, in an excellent location on the coast of the end of the Baja peninsula. There are a large number of business conventions here, and a lot of families, and 90+% of the clientele is American, so if you are looking for an authentic Mexican experience, or want peace and quiet at the pool (the "adults only pool" does not exist) this is not the place for you. Also note that the conventions mean that the restaurants do not all open in the evening, as the staff are servicing events, though there is nothing to tell you which ones are open when which is rather annoying. The prices are on a par with resort hotels in America, not the rest of Mexico. We were pleased we had a rate that included breakfast, as there is nowhere else to go and it was much cheaper than buying it there.

It is disappointing that the hotel allows people to "towel book" beds by the pool, and does not police or manage it in any way at all, so there are many many beds occupied by a towel and a bag for most of the day, from early in the morning, but not by a person. This is a really annoying practice, and most other hotels go out of their way to request that people don't do it, and if they try they don't allow it. That said, we tended to head to the pool in the mid/late afternoon and because we wanted shade we usually found somewhere to sit.

First point to note, if you are going to pay the extra for an ocean front suite, ensure you are not in room 1053, this is a bad room, it is on the ground floor, has no shade at all and no privacy, and everyone at the restaurant of the resort next door can see not only your entire terrace but also into your room (we have photographic evidence of this). We complained and thankfully they were able to move us the next day to a much nicer room in the same category that we were very happy with – but room 1053 should not be in this category.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, although we did have two other customer service issues – one member of staff, when entering our room to leave a bottle of wine that our travel agent bought us, left our door open and visibly on the latch. Our most important documents, passports etc were in the safe, but cameras, ipods, ipad etc were all out. Thankfully nothing was taken but the room was open for the best part of an hour. The hotel did apologise and send (another) bottle of wine. There was also an incident earlier in our trip which resulted in our travel agent giving us a voucher for dinner – this somehow got translated to lunch by the hotel, who not only took the credit for giving us the free meal (when it was actually paid for by our travel agent) but also managed to be very awkward indeed about booking it, involving 3 visits to our room and 2 phone calls by a member of the room service management. It was just embarrassing for the poor member of staff whose manager was not authorising us using the voucher for dinner. The staff member was polite and lovely, he just clearly had a manager who was not "getting it". In the end we sorted it out, but it was an hour of tension that we did not need, and having followed the bad room incident and then the leaving room open debacle, really did make us think "enough now, Hilton get your act together". It was as though they wanted to snatch customer service defeat from the jaws of victory, and was a completely unnecessary situation to put us and the member of staff in.

Overall though, other than these bizarre issues the customer service was excellent, - and the things that happened wouldn’t put us off going back to this hotel – though we would be very specific about which room we were in.

We had whales swimming past our balcony on a daily basis which was an amazing treat. The sea was pretty rough, though there is a roped off area for swimming that is a bit calmer. If you’re not confident in the water then don’t swim outside the roped off area.

The spa was excellent, really good treatments, and the gym was well equipped though could have been colder in terms of air con given the temperature outside.

Room Tip: Don't accept room 1053.

From what you described, it seems like you were able to involve yourself with many of the available wonderful services. We look forward to meeting your every need during your return visit to Hilton Los Cabos.

While I felt our room was on the small side, that is the only negative comment I can make about our stay here. The property was immaculate, the food (even poolside) was fresh and interesting, the service was friendly, accommodating and prompt. This is a lovely hotel with good restaurant choices. The managers of the restaurants are quite particular about always putting their best foot forward both with regard to food quality and presentation as well as the restaurant's ambiance. From the attendant in the workout facility to the pool waitstaff to the servers at the restaurants, everyone was working as hard as they could to provide us and our daughters, 8 and 10, with an enjoyable experience. One lucky strike extra about staying here is that they actually DO have a little part of their beach area where swimming is safe and roped off, unlike most of the hotels on the Corridor in Cabo. Our daughters loved that. Breakfast buffet was wonderful...either continental or full, you will be delighted by it!

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hilton Los Cabos, and couldn't be happier! We were due to arrive around noon, but after flight delays we didn't get in until 9:00 in the evening. We were greeted by the nicest bell staff (I feel so bad that I can't remember his name!), who made sure we had our complimentary margarita and lemon aid for our daughter, and were comfortable in our room. We were on level 2, but still had a nice view of the ocean. Ideally a high level room would be best.
We chose a package that included breakfast, and that worked well for us. Every kind of breakfast food imaginable was available, and delicious (the French toast was the best).
Poolside drinks and food are pricey, but you get what you pay for. The grounds and rooms are immaculate. The view and infinity pool are amazing. The staff work so hard - I felt guilty sitting in a lounge chair!
We ate dinner at El Mezan (sp?), and found it to be a little too pricey. The food was ok, and portions are on the small side. Not that we needed it. We went into San Jose one evening, and ate at the open bar the other night, and enjoyed both very much.
The resort has one, or the only, swimmable beach in the Cabo area. We spent about half the time around the pool, and the other at the beach. We were able to see the last of the whales migrating for the summer. My husband and daughter were able to take a fishing trip right from the beach area.
Not to go on with what has already been said - this is possibly the nicest resort we've ever stayed at. We will save up our vacation $ to stay here or won't visit Cabo at all!

Room Tip: I think 2nd or 4th might be best. Level 3 could have to dodge palm trees to see the view. I don...

This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of value and the level of service provided. Our room was private and quiet, with a great view of the ocean. We initially booked an ocean view room, but the view was blocked by the pool bar. When we discussed it wit the front desk, we were given a choice of two other rooms. The room we ended up with was a partial ocean view, but we thought it was much nicer and less expensive. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

I actually wanted to give it a 3.75 and since that wasn't an option I chose a 4. There are two reasons I didn't give it a 5. 1. The walls are thin. We could hear our neighbors toilet flushing. Also, since the floors are tile, everything in the hallways echos so you can hear sounds from down the hall. 2. Not enough electrical outlets. With all our portable devices we had to share outlets to charge them. They need to put some more outlets over by the desk. Having said that I would stay there again.
