We stayed at El Delfin Blanco 2 nights in mid February. While the resort is not fancy, it does have plenty of Mexican charm and is a great way to get off the beaten path and into real Mexico. We rented Casita #1; it was small and comfortable, with its own bath, a small refrigerator and a TV (it seemed to get only one local station). The grounds were well kept and came with a resident cat named “Garfield”, who is a great friend to anyone missing their kitty back home.
One of the good things about El Delfin Blanco is the people you meet. The resort has a shared open-air kitchen where people gather in the morning to share stories. It’s a great way to meet fellow travelers and get tips on things to do and see in the area.
The very best thing about El Delfin Blanco is Osa. Returning from the beach one afternoon, I ingeniously locked my keys in our rental car. Lucky for us, Osa was in the office and she called Budget Rental car right away. She used her powers of persuasion and a representative from Budget showed up and unlocked our car within the half hour. And they only charged us $20. I’m sure the scene would have been much different at the Hilton. For that, El Delfin Blanco gets 5 stars. Service with a smile - thank you Osa!

Osa and El Delfin Blanco were the perfect holiday destination. From homemade crepes to help on area attractions, Osa was wonderful. The rooms and grounds were very well maintained and I could not reccommend this place enough to those who are true travelers.

As a previous poster has said, the initial reaction to the approach and appearance was a little off-putting but once inside things improved greatly. The staff are friendly and helpful and Osa, the owner, was constantly around with helpful advice and making sure we were comfortable. The room was well-appointed and the grounds well-kept, the hammocks a joy.
The beach is a short walk away and there are a small number of eating places within a short walking distance. Both were quiet with limited numbers of people around which was exactly what we wanted.
Off-topic. We came to the Delfin Blanco straight from the airport where we had been very disturbed by the timeshare touts. Generally, we are good at avoiding these guys but these were particularly good. Usual advice, don’t talk to anyone but go straight out of either exit. Outside there are collectivos/minivans. Again don’t take any notice when they say “the next one isn’t leaving for 20-30 minutes so would you like a taxi?” Insist on being put in one which is already filling up as that will leave within a few minutes. We paid 100 pesos each for the journey into town where we picked up a taxi for 70 pesos (for both of us). No meters in the taxis; we paid 50-70 pesos for most journeys. We don’t like unmetered taxis. Most places including Mexico City where we live they have meters.

Most relaxing vacation in a long time. Osa's hospitality is warm and gracious. She even arranged to have some newly hatched turtles released and brought us to see them. We did lots of snorkeling and sunning. I would suggest investing in your own equipment if you don't already have some. We did and it was well worth it. Very safe town, though the dining options were limited. We rented a jeep and made almost daily trips to the lovely town of San Jose del Cabo for food and fun. Jeep was the only way to get to snorkeling beaches easily. A highly recommended vacation spot if you like peace, quiet and roosters crowing at dawn!

We only stayed one night, but the room was very nice (especially for the price). We were in cabana #2. Very cosy and the grounds are meticulously maintained. Kind of an oasis when you come in off the street. Most impressive was Osa (the owner) and how helpful she was. Although we were only there for one night, she arranged a rental car for us, gave us great advice and made our trip a whole lot less stressful (not that it was). Anyhow, I would highly recommend El Delfin Blanco if you are considering it.
