“Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2006

My wife and I visited the Royal Solaris the end of March and had a wonderful time. This was our fourth time to this resort and it only gets better every time. From check in to check out we had the most relaxing vacation ever. The beautiful weather was just icing on the cake.
You do need to get up early to secure the spot you want by the pool. You will have no problem if you do this by 8:00 am. We ended up two mornings pulling some chairs right to the waters edge for the day. That was actually more relaxing than hanging by the pool. Breakfasts are amazing with the omelettes, waffles, pancakes and fresh fruit. Lunch provides many choices whether you eat at the pool side grill or the Rosmarinus buffet. We really enjoyed the Marco Polo pastas and also ate at Pancho's twice. The two buffets we enjoyed were the Mexican Fiesta night (highly recommended) and the Caribbean Buffet (lobster dinner). The resort offers a $10 round trip shuttle into town four times per day. This is a cheap alternative to taking a taxi.
The service at this resort is second to none. Everyone will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. They also have a sports and entertainment team that provides pool side activities during the day and special themed shows at night. The kids club looks amazing with the special kids pool and water slide. Everytime we walked by there were plenty of kids having a wonderful time. This also gives Mom and Dad some relaxing time of their own.
Remember when reading these reviews is that everybody has their own opinion. How can one family have the best vacation of their lives, while the next family had the worst vacation ever......when they stayed during the same week?????????? Go with a mindset that you are going to have a great time and I promise you will. If you would like additional photos please email me.

when we first got to the hotel and went to dinner it was sick. it was a pretty bad start to our mexico vacation. the next couple days were pretty good but some of the workers were annoying. they always asked where we where going and why we were leaving. the only good things about our trip were all the activites and swimming. the shows were entertaning and the entertanment team worked hard. I would never go to the royal solaris again.

Having been to various all-inclusives throughout the Caribbean and Mexico I found this resort to be very average, great place for the price! If you have already booked it, don't worry you will enjoy yourself! If you have not and are looking for a wild time in Cabo this is not the place!
They are building a new hotel next door and the view we had was less than desirable, although we only spent minimal time in our room and therefore this didn't really bother us. The food was good, you need to be creative and utilize all options i.e. go to both the buffet and snack bar to find something for lunch, I enjoyed many grilled chicken salads. Breakfast was great, and I recommend dinner at the restaurants, just call each morning to make a reservation.
They allow you to get as many towels as you like (7am), the problem with this is that people get many towels and "save" themselves many seats, beach seats, pool seats, etc... two people may have 8 seats throughout the resort, as a result after 8am all seats are "taken"-often only by a towel for hours! Get up early -7am, save your seats, go back to bed. The pool was big and clean. You can walk the beach for miles, but swimming isn't as easy. We found the big waves to be fun, others seemed to disagree. Rough water but very swimmable!
The one element that was lacking was evening entertainment. We are used to evening shows, karaoke, a disco etc. in open air pavilions. They had a show, but inside in a theatre and it wasn't very good. The entertainment staff was great- daytime volleyball, pool games, etc. Yet the nightlife was lacking, aside from live music in the inside lobby pretty much non existent. We did do a pub crawl in cabo san lucas through the resort one night and I would recommend this! The option to go in town is always there, but it is 30 minutes away! Overall we had a great time, beach all day, pool in the afternoon with cocktails from the pool bar, dinner, lobby bar for a bit and bed. I would not go back due to the lack of outside pavilions, and evening entertainment. Although the beach and resort were beautiful.

WOW! Amazing resort. Not sure what all the negative feedback is all about. Here's what we (11 of us; 6 adults, 5 children) would like to say:

1) POOL ~ get up early to get your towel on your chair and umbrella. Erica, bartendar, was excellent...drinks plentiful. Food was great!! If you bring or get a larger cup..they will fill!!

2) RESTAURANTS ~ Buffet for breakfast...AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!! Actually the buffet for all meals were great. Pancho (Mexican) and Marco Polo (Italian) were horrible; not the best food or service. Don't listen to the dress codes...they do not enforce. We ate all the food (eggs, etc.) and no one got sick. Loved the hamburgers and onion rings around the pool. The kids LOVED the ice cream and fruit in the cocounut shells! We had the BEST steak at the buffet....very juicy and tender.

3) PRESENTATION (Timeshare) ~ 90 mins..they are good, but once you say you are not interested...that's that. No pressure at all.

4) TRANSPORTATION ~ We asked one of the taxi guys (Miguel, awesome) for a private driver to Las Paz, Todos Santos and San Lucas....$30 per hour for 11 of us. Great experience. Take the local bus ($1 for 2); taxi is a bit high.

5) ACTIVITIES ~ The guys did ATVg and LOVED it. They let you do what you want to do and have fun. We all did the horseback riding on the beach and it was amazing; worth doing.

6) ACCOMMODATIONS ~ Rooms were small, but good sleeping since that's all you really do in a room. Lights could be a bit brighter and not much drawer space. The maids leave great towel designs on your bed; kids loved it. Water pressure and tempurature were fine and refreshing.

7) ENTERTAINMENT ~ around the pool was fun but loud and could be annoying after awhile. The kids club was great and our kids didn't want to leave; make sure you bring a towel for the kids. We saw the Latin show and it was very entertaining and action packed. The Carribbean night was great and the lobster was WOW!

8) SHOPPING ~ if you love silver and stones....there's plenty! The resort shop has amazing pieces and my hubby bought me a beautiful necklace (turqoiuse) and earrings ($132.00)

Well, I believe that's enough. If you would like to email me about the resort or anything about Los Cabos...please email me! I could email photos as well.

All in all.....Royal Solaris was great and we all would definately return! Before we left, I read all the message boards and all the negative writings.....read them, process them and remember 1/4....its all in what you make it and what you enjoy.

I just returned form BCS (Baja California Sur) after a weeks stay at the Royal Solaris in San Jose Del Cabo. We had a wonderful time. I had read about the rpos and cons of this all inclusive, but we we're pleased. It was true that there is "tons" of food, some godo and some not so good, like most places. The Kids Club was tremendous and the counselors did a great job with the kids. Drinks are also plentiful (Cervasa Frio), but only Tecate for beer, and some fo teh mixed drinks were weak, others strong. I think tipping had an influence on this. We drank bottled water, but didn't avoid the fresh fruits, salads, and iced drinks. None got sick during or after, although we all were a little out of whack with the time changes and nice weather. Our room was OK, on the West side of the hotel, with a balcomy view over the ocean. I think the East side was over teh loadign docks and kitchens so I'm glad we were on our end. It did seem that Royal Solaris membes were given more perks than an RCI guest, but I expected that.

The pool was wonderful with a swimupbar and bridge allowing peson to cross. Make reservations for the resturants (at 8 AM) and you will get the better food. The beach was great (we were there in April), the sand not to hot the breeze perfect, no humidity, Vendors on the beach politely peddling wares, but not aggresively. You do have to watch the surf here. Very rough, but not many went in beyond the surf. There is plenty of water to wade in at low tide to enjoy it.

I wanted to see more of Mexico, so I took walks and jogs to San Jose Del Cabo, and enjoyed what Mexico really looks like. People were very polite and coourteous. I think they aprpeciated my attempts at Spanish. Bought soe nice silver. Make sure and compare the amount of silver in the jewelry, unless you like to polish. Most is made elsewhere in Mexico. There was also the "Mega" a WalMart of Mexico within walking distance.

We took a shuttle into Cabo San Lucas, that was fun. Much different town. I took an ATV ride that was great, and the Royal Solaris ararnged for me. It was out in the desert and along the pacific coast. About an hour away. We would have liked to have taken a day trip up the east coast to some of the more remote beaches, but never got around to it. We were told rental agencies wouldn't let you take a car (we didn't bother renting one), and we didn't look into other means.

Great resort! Wonderful for children. There is only one tennis court and it is
ASTRO TURF WITH SAND ON TOP!!!!! I have never heard of that kind of surface.

Other than that everything was great.

Brochure said the view was patio swiming pool , but got view to the hill. Ask for two beds, got one bed. Every night had to go down stairs reception because they kept disactivating the room key.Not the best liquor or food.. The good thing was that the rooms where very clean.
