It was lovely to eat several varieties of wood-fired pizza in a lovely courtyard setting behind a good art gallery--and watch classic movies. We went twice and loved the experience both times--and at incredibly affordable prices. I can't understand how EVERY review is excellent, and yet the ranking is so low! Strange algorithm TA must use to do the rankings.

Casa Dahlia--the gallery and the cafe--is our favorite place to visit in San Jose. After visiting year after year, we have become friends with the entire staff, with special affection for Leah, Julio, Hector, and Bob. Their breakfasts and lunches continue to get better year after year. It's the first place we go when we come to San Jose--in fact we will be there next week, and we can hardly wait. You will be sorry if you don't visit this charming and friendly place. It's just up and across the street from El Encanto Inn. And if you can, try their movie night, where they show a classic film, along with salad, pizza, and chocolate-chip cookies on Thursday night. Very cool.

We happened upon this little restaurant a little too late in our 6 months in San Jose. We didnt try the food (next year) but the coffee served in a french press was much appreciated after not being able to find a good cuppa all this time. We hope to enjoy all the delights as described in the previous review, but for now we dont want you to make the same mistake, CHECK IT OUT!

Lovely quiet courtyard with about 5 tables. The food was excellent. Try the Jamaica tea-it's unusual but very refreshing on a hot day. They have wifi and it's also an art gallery.

A small place as described by previous reviewers, we also found it during the Thursday night art walk. The service is friendly, the location is tranquil and the pizzas from the outdoor wood-fired oven were only surpassed by the flan which was also prepared in the wood-fired oven. Also one of the better salads we have had in SJdC. Wine selection, while limited, was good and reasonable.
