“Best All Inclusive Experience Ever”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

We stayed at several 5 star all inclusive resorts in the past and The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was by far the best. The facilities are beautiful and impeccably maintained. While it is a large resort (over 600 rooms), it is quite intimate with distinct areas that cater to a variety of interests (adult only area, kid friendly area, sun, shade, etc). The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The spa is world class and the gym well equipped. The nightly entertainment is above average for a resort of this nature. There is an excellent selection of buffet and a la carte restaurants located in the main building, by the pool and by the beach. The food ranged from good to excellent. The service in all areas of the resort is polished and, for the most part, the staff members are accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as possible. It was our first visit to Los Cabos. We will definitely be back to the Hyatt Ziva...loved everything about it.

We just returned from a 6-night stay at the Hyatt Ziva. First, a shout out to Antonio, also known as "Tony Boy." Tony Boy seemed to be everywhere, making fun announcements by the pool, leading stretching and volleyball and water aerobics - even Spanish classes! He and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. We were told this is the first all-inclusive Hyatt anywhere, and if so, they are off to a good start. The food was good, in all the buffets and the Japanese and Italian restaurants. The beach is long and wide and beautiful, but be advised there are strong undertows along this stretch so swimming is often not possible. When we return to Los Cabos, we will stay here at the Hyatt Ziva.

Last time there is was the Barcelo and then hotels starting switching ownership. Three nights, 7 restaurants, 6 bars, family pool area, kids pool area and love the adults only pool and bar. Staff and management have upped their service levels and food choices. 24 hour room service and a wonderful room. Too bad is was only 20% occupied. Would have been nice to have seen more people there. Mostly Canadians which was nice.

Room Tip: Make sure to enjoy the Spa

This hotel looks nice but don't be fooled. The pool is not heated and there are only 3 fire pits so u need to get there by 4 pm to get one for the night.
We were in Royal Service and there was basically not difference btw that and regular service except the price. Very misleading.
The resort is big and crowded. The staff are friendly but inefficient. They look u right in the eye, say they will do it and then never follow through. It can be very frustrating.
We were looking forward to leaving.
If u have teenagers ( over 18) and like to have some fun be careful. They are ridiculous.
I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,

I am very thankful that you did write to us. We actively seek any kind of feedback from our customers, as it is the only way to continue to improve our guest experience.

We accommodate many guests each day and we strive to make their stay a satisfying one. The principal goal of our hotel is to provide dependable service to all our guest at reasonable prices. Consequently it is disappointing to learn that you are unhappy.

Our Resort features more than 50, 000 square feet of swimming pool areas including the Children’s Water Park. All pools except for the main swimming pool are heated and we keep a very strict log and surveillance about the temperatures.

Unfortunately we do not have Royal Service, ours is Premium services that consist in private check in and check out, preferred room location, access to The Club private lounge, access to the wet areas at the Spa as the sauna and hydrotherapy circuit, premium liquor and some discounts in excursions and bottles of wine.

I am sorry that we did not live up to your expectations, and that this made your stay less than perfect.

Best Regards

After having a very bad start to our holiday at another property we moved to the Ziva on the 8th of January. They were able to get us into our room before noon and we loved the property. The staff and management here are fantastic. We loved the 7 restaurants we had to choose from and everything was fresh and delicious. The A' la carte restaurants served nice sized portions and I never felt 'stuffed'. If you were still hungry you could simply order more as this is Hyatt's first all inclusive resort. Pools were good and although you can't swim in the ocean there the beach walk nightly was lovely. We even saw whales one day from our balcony :)

We loved it and plan to come back next year with our kids!!

We are glad that you saw the whales from your balcony witnessed such as majestic spectacle of the nature, most of our guests have had the same fortune, if our guests take the lunch at the Hacienda restaurant they can have the fortune to watch whales.

I am sure that your kids will enjoy our Resort as much as you did, Hyatt Ziva is a family Resort all our activities and facilities were designed to make you feel comfortable and as home.

This was our first time to stay in San Jose, and this place has to be among the best there. It was very clean and beautiful right on the ocean, everyone was very helpful and friendly, and the all inclusive included a variety of wonderful restaurants. Our favorite restaurants were the Italian and French, and favorite waiter at the French Restaurant was Carlos, and Enrico at the Italian, both were outstanding. In the mornings we enjoyed the Breakfast Buffet with anything you can imagine.
The beaches are spacious white sand and enjoyable to walk on for miles. The hotel has very comfortable seating both on the sand and around the pools, with amazing service there too. Although on this trip we had no young children with us, we did notice a very nice children's pool area that would keep little ones busy for hours.
The Art District is a short bus trip away and you can catch the bus right in front of the hotel for only $1.00. When there, be sure and check out the Art Walk on Thursday evenings.
Cabo is one of our favorite places to go, and this Hotel is definitely one I would recommend!

Our first time to San Jose del Cabos was fabulous. As you walk into the lobby of the Hyatt Ziva your breathe is taken away by the wide open vista of the amazing pools and grounds and on to the beautiful white sands and waves of the Sea of Cortez. We arrived in the morning, but they got us checked into our room and we were changed and on the beach by noon. Wow! Our Jr. Suite in the Galeon Bldg. was beautifully appointed, spacious, and immaculate, and our view off the balcony of the sea was marvelous. The bed and linens couldn't be better, we both slept so well. It is all inclusive and we found the food to be exceptional for all-inclusive. The breakfast and lunch buffets were wonderful, so many fresh fruit and vegetable choices prepared so well, and always great fish choices. We love fresh fish. The ala carte dinner options were French, Italian, and Japanese, and we enjoyed all of our dinners also. We greatly appreciated the smaller portions, artfully presented. There is also a buffet choice for dinner if you prefer, but we didn't try that. Service was amazing. Everyone was bending over backwards to make sure our stay was to our satisfaction. We loved the beach. White sand stretching on and on and on, and during low tide, so easy and pleasant to amble along watching for dolphins or whales. There are no high rises on this stretch of Cabos and there are places where you look inland and all you see is high sand dune, blue skies and mountains off in the distance. It is very easy to arrange excursions. We enjoyed a very reasonably priced kayaaking and snorkeling trip arranged by the concierge. We found the wifi service to be very spotty, quite often we could not get connected. You might consider getting your own hot spot if you need to be connected, or check to see if they have improved their signal. The jets in the pool were not functional, but with everything else we had available to us, this was not an issue. We hope to return next year. It is the best beach destination we have found. The weather is predictably sunny with temps in the 80's during the day, the beach amazing, and the hotel top notch.

Room Tip: Rooms on 5, 6, or 7 have views of the Sea. The Galeon Bldg. is next to a hotel that has their louds...
