“Best Resort in the Area”

A great choice for our first time in Mexico. As soon as you enter the open lobby you get a wonderful view of the sea, this resort is really beautifully built. It is centered on the swimming pools which are always crowded, people “save” their seats by waking up as early as 5am! Food was good quality, and we were offered a selection of cuisines. We were surprised by the sushi restaurant, given the sushi chefs were Mexican. The meat is not the best, but the seafood was delicious. The staff were very friendly and provided quality customer service, they seemed happy to serve us. Special thanks to Jorge and Tony boy for making our experience memorable. The rooms are clean but not spectacular, and the reception desk is not very timely in responding to our phone requests. One issue that especially miffed me was the terrible wifi – there is no reception at all in the rooms, and the wifi in the lobby is mediocre at best. But all in all my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Ziva.

We just returned from an excellent vacation at the Hyatt Ziva. The hotel was very nice. It was clean and well-maintained. The food was very good, especially the a la carte restaurants. It was a bit noisy some nights as there were some large groups there and our room was close to the sports bar. The best part for us was the service. All of the employees were so helpful and very friendly, however one of them really stood out from the rest. His name is Eduardo A. Gonzales in the International buffet and he provided us with such superior service that I had to mention it here. He greeted us with a smile every day and gave us such wonderful service. He always made sure that all of the guests were taken care of. I would definitely recommend the Hyatt Ziva as a place for a relaxing vacation. We look forward to returning in the future.

Nice and relaxing resort. Pool area was fun. Adult pool was slow and relaxing with a nice little bar area. Restaurants were all better than we thought they would be. French restaurant was our favorite. Buffets were solid. Service everywhere was great. They work extremely hard and if you don't have to tip but if you don't you're just a cheap jerk. Tony boy was fun and ran a lot of activities. Karen was our waitress by the pool a couple days and was really nice and provided perfect service. Jorge was a great waiter at the Lobby Bar. Abraham was our waiter at the French Restaurant and was excellent. Every worker did everything they could to accommodate you and get you what you wanted.

I enjoyed this all inclusive resort. The food was wonderful. New York strip steaks, Shrimp and Red Snapper to name a few. The service was great, especially in the restaurants. Our son fell in love with the food and they catered to his wants even when his favorites were not on the menu one day. (The french fries and potatoes were his thing.)

We went on several excursions and upon returning to the Ziva, the amenities really helped us relax and feel comfortable.

The pools were beautiful. Pick your seats around the pool early.

The waves at the beach never stop and will take you away. Be careful. They do not encourage swimming here.

We were 20 miles from most of the main attractions of Cabos, but its not a bad ride. The drivers that come to pick you up, do drive fast. They are not the Ziva's drivers.

If you can, pay for the resort before you arrive to save on the transaction fees, (from dollars to pesos).

Taking some cash with you for tipping is encouraged. ($1's and $5's).
They will treat you like a King or Queen if you do.

Room Tip: The rooms were very nice.

We just finished a 10 day all inclusive stay at this resort and the staff, service and food was terrible. The staff hated their jobs as they never smile nor did they even try to provide good service. The food was terrible and even when room service was ordered it arrived cold, the best food we got at the resort was the shrimp tacos at the pool. They did out door buffetts and allowed flys to swarn their food and could care less about covering it. The resort was very under staff and their onsite resturants that do not take reservations provided terrible service and worst over salted food.

We found better places to eat from the small downtown area near the resort where the staff there was friendly and wanted to provide outstanding service and great food.

Never again would we stay at this resort!

Hyatt Ziva is a beautiful resort that is nicely landscaped and groomed, very clean, and great pools! However....they certainly need to work on their customer service.

The staff seemed quite bitter and almost seemed "put out" when they had to serve us. The chip on their shoulder got old fast! After all we did pay to visit their hotel. The waiters at the pool bar were annoyed with everyone all the time. They made the drinks so sweet they were practically unbearable to drink.

The restaurant food wasn't bad (if u like buffets) and the kids were happy with the choices however the meat was not very good and either was the cream and butter. The teppanyaki grill was great and the fried rice was fantastic!

Another huge issue I had with hyatt Ziva is how the whole place shut down at 8 o'clock and their was NOTHING to do. They do have a show going each night but that gets boring after the first day. A little live music and a dance floor down by the pools would have been nice. Or just anything to liven the place up when the sun goes down.

I would only give this place a 3 star mostly for their bad attitudes and mediocre food.

First time going to Cabo. The Hyatt was a perfect resort all-inclusive resort. The staff was very friendly. Spent a lot of time around the pool. There was always someone asking if you wanted any food or drinks(top alcohol brands )and never pushy. Coco Loco also had some for the best shrimp tacos i have ever had. The rooms were very nice as expected for a top end resort. There is plenty of different restaurants to choose from which is sometimes hard to find at the all-inclusive resorts. Everything from Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, to a buffet.( some of the Restaurants do have a dress code so be aware) There were plenty of activities to do during the day that got everyone engaged in. Everything from trivia to dance lessons to the Water Aerobics. I took a water aerobics class with Maria. She made the class fun and exciting for everyone. I got partnered with her for some of the demonstrations and she remembered me for the entire time i stayed. (which was very nice and different then other places).

All in all a great resort for family or adults. Just make sure to bring your ones cause you will want to be tipping the servers cause they truly deserve it.

There was only two cons one is that it is about 20 min cab ride from downtown cabo where the nightlife is. And there other was you couldn't go in the ocean because of the rip tides.
But you won't want to leave the resort or pools when your there
