Cabo Azul is beautiful! The staff was incredibly kind and even got to know our names! We loved lounging by the pool and relaxing... In fact it was so nice we didn't really leave the resort for the entire 3 days we where there. We did have dinner in Cabo one night ($30 cab ride to and from Cabo FYI)....

Overall, I would highly recommend this resort! It is still under construction - but we didn't really even notice.

My family of 5 returned from Cabo Azul at the end of June. 3 daughters (18, 16 and 9) plus myself and husband. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. We CANNOT wait to go back. The property is absolutely gorgeous
....and we usually stay at only 5 star properties. The check in area may be small but the friendliness of the staff overshadow this very small and temporary fact. The new lobby will be fantastic once completed.

We are already looking to go back b/c of the accomodating staff. After our 8 day stay, the pool attendants and activity director knew us by our names. If we needed an amenity in our room....housekeeping was there within minutes. When we needed confirmation on dinner reservations in San Jose, concierge called promptly for it.

Within a week of returning home, we received comments from management wanting to follow up on our review of our stay. I do agree with other posts about the lighting in the villas being low, especially in the bathroom (for makeup). I mentioned this to the staff and they said this has been a common complaint and they are addressing it by adding lit makeup mirrors in the bathrooms.

For anyone to say that the staff is inattentive is ridiculous. We exchanged email with some of the employees and they have follwed up, inquiring how we are now that we are back home.

Our daughters were not bored,,,not for one minute. They have organized activities on a daily basis. Such activities included beach volleyball, face painting, paper airlplane competions, golf chipping, water aerobics, salsa lessons, spanish lessons, sandcastle making, tequila tasting and drink making (for the adults), the list goes on and on. Each day they post the schedule of activities in the market place.

The grounds are immaculate.....someone always coming behind you to pick up or to help you arrange. We will be back.....even if the price to stay here doubles,, which it will once it is completed.

My family and I just returned from a four day vacation at the Cabo Azul Resort. The resort is indeed beautiful - very modern, generously sized and equipped rooms, amazing pools, and an incredible spa, however there is much work to be done in regards to customer service. Poolside service was spotty at best as was timeliness at Flor de Noche Restaurant, while Javier's was excellent and the waitstaff was very attentive. The pool area lacked towels daily, to the point that all 11 members of our party regularly had to remain in the pool for 20 + minutes (after we we were more than ready to go!) until we could finally get some towels delivered to us in order to dry off! The resort is also 30 minutes from Cabo San Lucas and does not have a usable beachfront.

The front desk area, as mentioned by other reviewers, is nothing more than a tiny room staffed with impatient and rather unkind employees. I requested months before our reservation to have all members of our party in the same tower, instead our 4 rooms were spread over 3 towers. No attempt was made by the front desk staff to accommodate us, rather they seemed angered that we even asked them to place us in close proximity to each other. The kicker to our front desk experience occurred with a staffer named Adriana. I asked her for some assistance in speaking with a Spanish only speaking individual who was delivering food to our group and delivered meat items to our primarily vegetarian party. I needed help in communicating in order to correct the order and her verbal and physical demeanor was incredibly rude and mocking. She rolled her eyes repeatedly and refused, stating she doesn't get involved in such matters. In addition, upon check out she did not give comment cards to most members in our party. I guess hospitality, aiding your customers, and receiving feedback is not part of her business.

Adriana aside, many staffers, housekeeping, and the concierge were excellent.

In order to be the 4-5 star resort Cabo Azul strives to be and charge the prices they do for food and lodging, much work needs to be done.

Perhaps they can get their act together in the years to come...

We have been waiting for this property to open for some time since we are owners. Our visit did not disappoint us. We checked in at night and the resort looked beautiful upon entering. The ambiance is just right with fires set throughout the pool areas and bars. We were impressed with the rooms and the space that even the one bedroom villa had. The next day we continued to be happy with the resort and ultimately we had a relaxing week at Cabo Azul. We enjoyed dinner at Javier's, lunch at Flor de Noche and snacks at The Plaza. The food was great and above all the service was excellent! If you visit look out for Hector. He seemed to be everywhere and ready to assist you. We had an excellent couple's massage at the Spa. We will be back at Cabo Azul next year.

Despite our wonderful experience, we believe there can be improvements. The lighting in the room, while nice and romantic, can be a bit too dim. We found ourselves needing more light. The restaurants, while providing great food and service, is a bit too overpriced. We found great food for half the price in San Jose del Cabo (Tropical is highly recommended). We balanced our high priced meals with a trip to Mega (walking distance from Azul). The market at the hotel has essentials, but also overpriced compared to Mega.

Overall, this resort will only get better. We are happy to be owners with Monarch even if we only use our points to return to Cabo Azul.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WHAT A PLACE!!!
We frequently stay at time share locations, simply because you can get great deals, even if you occasionally have to attend a timeshare presentation. This is by far the best we have ever stayed in. The facilities were phenomenal, rooms luxurious, grounds maticulus and the pool as soothing as a pool can get. The staff were always there to assist. Not much for kids to do, but still a great place for the whole family
