5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here this past week (wed-sun). Can't say enough good things about this resort. Had room 2103 (ground level with the pool) which was super convenient to walk out bedroom and 5 steps from main pool. Booked through Orbitz with round trip transfers. Once we got through the gauntlet of time share folks, driver was standing waiting, super easy. On site we ate at Javiers (twice), Flor de Noche (twice) and used the cafe for breakfast and lunch. All were great. Bought a few things in the market on site which were overpriced but didn't really care. Had the 2BR suite and room was perfect. Not one complaint. Service was a bit choppy by the pool a couple times but overall everyone was spot on. Main pool was pretty warm but used the adults only side pool one day and it was cooler as it was in the shade. Ventured downtown one day to look around and went to Wild Canyon Tortuga Zip Lines. Zip line was fantastic. Other than zip lining again, we likely won't leave the resort. No need to as it is that good. Had a couples massage on the beach under the hut and was the highlight of our trip. Although many told us not to do the time share presentation once they offered us dinner at Javiers, 2 50 min massages plus a 3 day/2night certificate to a US Diamond property we decided to do it anyway. It was a huge pain in the ***. Lasted over 2 hours and you know the rest. So, the freebies were nice but may or may not do again.

We also at at La Forchetta, directly across the street for some italian, and it was excellent. Went to Retro Burger Bar in San Jose and it was ok, not great. Nice place to catch a game. We walked to and from Retro Burger Bar through the heart of San Jose and it was nice. Lots of local flare, safe location. All and all can't wait to return. Truly an exceptional resort from top to bottom.

I agree with most of the reviews below. This place is so nice! Maintenance and customer service and friendly greetings seem to be top priority. I wanted to add - the little grocery store and deli they have here was all we needed. So I never had to take the $5 taxi ride to the Mega. The other thing I didn't understand from reading the reviews earlier, is that there is a great little strip mall type place right across the street. That includes our favorites Ten Tu Taco, and my 13 yr old's favorite gelato place, we didn't try the other places, but they looked good: a sports/bike rental place, a Gloria Jean's place for frufi coffee, a "natural food" restaurant, a deli/wine place, a jazz restaurant, a "forchetta" nice looking restaurant, a Spicy Tuna sushi joint we will try tonight has great reviews on TI, and Gene Simmons' Rock 'n Brews. So, those places are very conveniently close if you don't feel like going out to town.

My family spent a week at Cabo Azul and had a wonderful experience. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The food was very good. We did have to request they cook the pizza longer several times at the Marketplace, but that wasn't a big deal. My wife and I had an excellent dinner with an ocean view at Javier's. We napped on the suspended beds under the palapas on the beach a few times, very relaxing. The music around the pool wasn't great; felt like we were doing yoga or meditations. The pools were beautiful. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Absolutely fabulous resort! Cabo Azul has beautiful units, stunning pools, fabulous landscape, and a professional and friendly staff.

Our group had several units for a family reunion, with ages ranging from 16 to 70. Our entire week was perfect! By doing a little advance research and collaborating with Pedro Morales, the fantastic resort concierge, we found numerous fabulous, memorable activities that everyone enjoyed.

Since our group had lots of teenage and college kids, we took other readers advice, and stocked a suitcase full of kid-food basics – cold cereal, peanut butter/jam, granola bars and snacks. We also shopped at Costco and Mega (like a Walmart) but found many basics in the small resort market for a reasonable price.

The kids were also were happy to have brought a ‘power plug’ bar, which allowed them to simultaneously recharge everyone’s vitals - phones, iPads and tablets, without having to wait.

For communication, our group used “WhatsApp” a free internet based text service. The resort has Wi-Fi in most common areas. In your room, there is a very small router in the family room TV / Entertainment system area. If your Wi-Fi isn’t working well – resetting the router often cures the problem. Out in town, we found Wi-Fi in most malls and established areas.

Since our group was large, we had fun taking the old yellow school buses that originate at the store ‘Mega’ and operate up and down the corridor. Rate is typically $1.00 USD per person. You can get on or off the bus, just about anywhere – just wave a lot and they stop.

Some of our favorite group activities included the boat/snorkel trip and the Thursday night ‘Art Walk’ in Cabo Azuel’s own town of San Jose del Cabo. Our best ‘family’ dinner was at “Mi Casa” also in San Jose del Cabo. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Because of the beautiful landscape, try to get on the 3rd floor or above, to see the pools and ocean...

Really enjoyed our time at the Cabo Azul resort. The resort and the staff were amazing. No complaints at all. The only thing I would change would be to add a bit more signage because it is easy to get turned around and lost until you get used to the layout... you have to do a bit of exploring and remembering to find your way around especially if your room is farther away from the lobby.

Room Tip: We had a beach facing room...I think it is worth the extra cost...facing the pool would not give the...

Relaxation, spoilt, laid back, friendly staff, smiles, clean, great service, great rooms, we could go on!
Cost - drinks on the expensive side. Food in house - hmmm really good but maybe a little limited.
We are new member to Diamond Resorts and this was our first real taste of what is in store! We have stayed in Santa Barbara (Tenerife) as an ordinary guest and liked everything about the whole setup. So here we are.
We are from England and travel with two teens (18, 16) and a mother in law (79) so always looking for a holiday that suits us all. We'll we found it (nearly).
This place is the place to unwind and do nothing more than make sure you remember when to get up or go to bed. Loved it. Totally forgot work!
A long way to travel from England with no direct flights but think I can make the same effort soon enough. My only real improvement would be to have little entertainment on site. Probably more for my teens. Even a foozball table and pool table would have broken up the day a little for them.
But please book into this hotel if you want to be spoilt.
Special mention to Daniel at the pool and Janay (bellboy) , both really nice people who take the time to say hello and chat. Also our cleaner needs to come home wth us. But to be fair all of the staff are exceptional.

Room Tip: Ask for a main pool view or ocean view.

Have stayed here several times, the rooms are very spacious, service is first class. The pool area
is gorgeous with excellent service. The in house restaurant is also great. Decline the time share pitch when you check in and have a relaxing spoiled vacation. Highly recommend.
