My wife and I went to a sales presentation in December 2010; as others have said, they are the water boarders of time share sales I second those reviews; Against my better judgement I bought one of their lesser packages. I naively thought if some of the basics they promised were true, it would be worth the cost. I have tried to utilize the website and the phone services to book two trips and found the website to be a joke, with links that are totally inaccurate and listed prices that are at best "bait and switch" and they simply do not have the accommodations that were promised at the presentation. The phone service is ONLY available from 9 to 5 PST and no help is available on weekends, in sum tantamount to FRAUD.

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. It is quite small with 165 units and seemed to not be that busy. staff were great and the 1 bedroom master suite was very nice. It is an excellent resort if you want peace and quiet and long walks down the beach. You can not swim in the ocean as red flags always up. the pools are cold and the weather was cool so we hardly went in the pools. not a resort that i would take children to as i saw no activities for them. very few restaurants on site and you could order a meal plan but we didn't try that and although there were daily activities they were quite limited. but again if you want peace and quiet this is the place to be. resort is about a 15 min walk to San Jose and about 30 min drive to cabo san Lucas. also a 15 min walk to a large Mega store and a starbucks. first time we ever rented a car in mexico and had no problems. would have been nice if they had free wifi in the rooms..

The service was great, as was the room. Very clean, we even watched some of the staff washing stones that were laid out on the ground. The location was nice a little out of the way if you like Los Cabos. There were hardly any kids or younger people. Mostly retirement age folks. If you wanted to get a lounge by the pool, there were plenty to be had. The pool was cold. There was no one at the pool bar partly because the water was so cold. The weather was great the whole time we were there. Nights were a little chilly. If you wanted peace and quiet this is the place. It was a little too quiet for me. My two favorite people were Edgar and Carlos, the Activities people. Good people.

My husband & I went to Mexico for the first time February, 2011 & stayed at the Grand Mayan.
It was gorgeous. We had a 2 bedroom master suite that was unbelieveable. Weather was perfect & everyone at the Grand Mayan took excellent care of us. The pool area is beautiful, very relaxing. This is a great place for adults to spend a vacation. I would not go there with small children, not much for them to do. We are looking forward to going there next year.

We just came home from a 7 night stay at the Grand Mayan in Cabo. It was gorgeous! But let's start at the beginning: Airport: Be careful of the sales con artists in their airport - they are very agrressive. Don't give them any money - just say no to whatever they are offering! The drive to the Grand Mayan is very short from the airport - maybe 20 minutes. We rented a vehicle but I would suggest taking taxis - much cheaper in the end. The resot was spectacular! Beautiful entrance, very helpful concierge and doormen. They asked us only twice if we wanted to attend the timeshare sessions. We said no both, and they never pressed us after that. They were not at all agressive at our resort about this. Our room was perfect - beatiful view of the pool and water. Kitchen has all of the cooking and utensils you will need. Small fridge, but it was big enough for all of our groceries. Pools (3) were fantastic. Water is a bit cool, but refreshing. Lots of chairs to lounge in on the pool deck - and lots of space so that you never felt crowded. The service staff were very attentive - they offered beverages, but never were rude or aggressive. Lots of activities (volleyball, salsa dancing, yoga). The beach was amazing - beautiful soft sand for easy walking. We saw whales on a regular basis. The water was cool - you can swim in it but at your own risk (no lifeguards). We bought all of our groceries at the MEGA store - only 5 minute drive from this resort. Very affordable. There is also a Starbuck, Subway, Burger King and other fast-food places within a short drive walking distance. It's only a 20 minute walk to downtown where there are lots of vendors selling shirts, bags, souveniers - fun to look around. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great experience overall!
