“Not THERE YET”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

Had an evening meal during our stay at Hope cove and compared to other Hotels the.
service was poor food not that great compared to others ,may do better sticking to pub grub .
We ordered HOPE COVE lobster ,very disappointed with what we received, apart from dipping sauce which was excellent .
They need to up there game to compete with other restaurants in the area.
Not so sure if it is fresh local fish ?

Disappointed

“Good food but rocky service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We enjoyed a lovely meal here whilst on holiday in hope cove, my review would be that this place is excellent, but I'm afraid the service was lacking. It was almost as so this night was the first night they had been open, there was no organisation. The lady that originally served us was very kind and polite but during the evening a younger girl joined her to help out and I don't remember her speaking a word to us when taking our plates and handing us menus. The summer is fast approaching and I feel the service just needs to move up a notch

“Excellent food, great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

We have been visiting hope cove for nearly 16 years, and this was our first visit to this fantastic restaurant. The recent change in ownership was the reason for our visit. When we heard that the previous manager of the local pub we used to visit on a regular basis and had taken over the Hotel, we had no hesitation in booking a table. It was no surprise that the quality of food (especially the locally sourced fish) was outstanding, coupled with the friendly first class service led to a great dining experience. Given that a lot of restaurants in the area would be considered by the vast majority to be over priced, we were pleasantly surprised by the good value that the restaurant offered. All in all we will definitely be visiting the restaurant again, hopefully this week if they have any tables available.

“Great grub in an unexpected place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2012

This is tucked almost out of sight on the road leading to Hope's beaches, but is well worth investigating. Great food - crab starters are great; burgers excellent. Two gripes: slightly slow service when we went even though it wasn't busy (take a drinks order quickly, for Heaven's sake!) and no fish on the menu! Grilled fish would be perfect near the sea, surely!?!
For all that, the food was super, and the waitresses very helpful once we had been served. If you're down for a week, make sure you seek this one out!
