“Very nice place!”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Stayed for seven nights here with my two children. Quiet, beautiful place. Perfect place if you look to get away from busy tourist areas. You need a car to get here. We made day trips by car to various places. Clean and comfortable room. Poolarea is lovely! Surprisingly good breakfast Italian style served every morning. Outdoor self cater kitchen for the guests, it was perfect for us since we like to take care of ourselves, prepare our own food when we feel like it. Nearby restaurant served very good food to a reasonable price. Owner and staff at Borgo Pida were very helpful and caring but not intrusive. The owner and his spouse speaks english but not the rest of the staff. This was sometimes a bit "frustrating" since I don't speak Italian. Over all we really enjoyed our vacation and would really recommend this B&B to others visiting Trapani! /Family from Sweden

We stayed here in May 2013 for four nights. The hotel is situated close to the airport but we didn`t hear any noise.Good breakfast buffet, very nice swimming pool and big garden. No hotel restaurant but quite close to Fontanasalsa Azienda where we enjoyed a few evenings with great live music and fantastic italian food.

After reading some of the other reviews commenting on the great service of this place, and really looking forward to staying here, we are doubly disappointed with this B and B.

We stayed two nights here recently - and absolutely loved the location, the pool and the planting amongst the flowers, olives and fruit trees.

However. The service was non-existent. It is/was the very end of the season, and we were the only guests, but I question why they took our booking in the first place?

We were met by, I think the owner, who briskly showed us our room and left us to it, informing us that breakfast was served on the verandah....And that was it. We didn't seem him again until we were packing up the car as we were leaving. We pretty much didn't see anyone else either for the next couple of days.

There seemed to be about 4 varandahs that we could see, and it took us half an hour of searching for it, (or for the owner) the next morning to find the breakfast room - eventually we found it tucked around the back of the property.

Breakfast was good, but on the second morning, we got to breakfast at about 9.00am, and it was completely empty - they hadn't even remembered to prepare anything for us! We again tried to search for the owner and rang the reception bell several times. 30 mins later, we found the lady who had served breakfast the first day and got something but this put us very late on the road after hoping for an early start.

We had been hoping also to use the facilities during our stay - there was tennis and table tennis, but no rackets or balls and table football which my son was keen to play. However, the lady who served breakfast didn't have much English, and unfortunately our Italian is not great. My son did eventually manage to get one game of table tennis in while waiting for breakfast to be prepared by meeting another chap who seemed to also to be in charge. He was very polite and business like, but by this time we were leaving.

It was an unfortunate stay, and very weird. We felt ignored, to the point of unwelcome. This was such a shame as it is a very beautiful setting and really wanted it to be one of our highlights. If you are going to stay here, I think it would be better to go at the height of the tourist season, when hopefully they were more geared up for hosting guests.

ciao a tutti
Toto

We had a seriously great stay at Borgo Pida.

The room itself was airy, fresh, with nice bathroom, comfy bed, and nice balcony with table/chairs to eat and drink. The view was very nice, looking out onto Olive Groves and the tennis court on-site. Every morning when we were out our room was cleaned top to toe as well.

The grounds were very nice. Lovely clean pool area, nice Jacuzzi, tennis court with rackets to use, even a little outdoor gym area with weights bench and step machine. An outdoor BBQ as well which is nice if you want to cook yourself in the evening.

Animals on-site including horses, a dog, cats, poultry. Nice to go around and see the horses especially.

Breakfast nice, and plenty to fill you up in the morning.

The staff were great, especially the grounds man there (I forget his name). He didn't speak English, but was very attentive. He even gave us fresh tomatoes and salad grown on site when we were making a BBQ on night, and we didn't even ask him.

Try the Borgo Pida White Wine if you can. They make it themselves and it was really good! :-)

Also, Toto (the owner) runs a daylong boat tour, on his private boat, around the Egaldi Islands - 40 EUROS per person and well worth it. We did it and it was such a good day out. The sea was picture postcard blue. We stopped to swim off the coast, ate great food, and saw some great small island villages. And Toto gave us a running commentary throughout, so we got to know all about the local history too.

As well, My gf was celebrating her birthday when we were there and they gave her a present in the room to say happy birthday - They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and to treat her on her birthday!

I cannot fault the service we got from Borog Pida. Would definitely go back.

Realistically you need a car to get about. But for me that is one of the advantages of the place, it's isolated which means peace and quiet, and real time for relaxing! But Trapani and other places not far away if you want to go out and eat in town!

You'll like it there!

Very nice staff, friendly, clean, many things to do (tennis, gym, playground and so on). We were so satisfied with everything! In the evening it was quiet and we slept well in the room with AC. Good breakfast. The pool was great and the whole place was nice and tidy. Many animals like cats walking around. It's fairly close to the airport but you need car to get there. nice restaurant just a short walk away and about 5 minutes drive to Trapani. We would love to go back!
