This has to be my favourite Bar/Restaurant on Mersea Island. Great staff , great food (rather large portion's), varied choice of menu, very comfortable surrounding's. Not cheap but you get what you pay for which is quality . Great views & a good position for walking after a nice meal. I have eaten here on many occasions in the Winter & Summer and always feel comfortable . In the winter they have a lovely roaring fire in the Bar area and plenty of heating in other areas , in the Summer they have plenty of seating outside & of course you can sit inside.

You can hear the twirl of the bugees on the boats beyond the restaurant, if you are seated outside. The Coast is clean and minimal inside ( bar area) and offers a nice view of the water. The restaurant is further into the building, which is charming in itself. The food portions were quite big and the food once served was good fayre. It did take a long time to come, but they were spectacularaly busy. Staff were agreeable and welcomed children. This is an ideal place for families, couples or a group of friends. It really is quite appealing. It isnt super posh, but is of a good standard and I return frequently.

Went in on the spur of the moment only to be told that if we hadn't booked we'd have to eat in the bar. Luckily a table came available quickly and we soon ordered. I had fish and chips and my partner had scampi - both came quite quickly and were huge in size. Food was really tasty and excellent value for money.

Good choice of food and drink. Went with friends for a birthday celebration. All chose different menu and all enjoyed. Good location of the harbour front with lovely views. Family members have visited too and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Good place to go for a special celebration or just a quiet, romantic dinner as I recall.

Me and my family have been coming to this place for many many years and we love it. Great local food - they pride themselves on buying local fresh produce! Great service - the staff are all so nice and friendly and so accomadating! The food is freshly cooked and prepared and your meal, your experience truly matters to them - I've never had a bad meal or a bad time here - whether its a quick drink watching the tide roll in, or a long leisurely meal by the fire in the winter this place is the best!
