Description: Pecks Restaurant was established in 1984 and still offers it's famous "Dinner at 8" concept, where all diners start a theatre of food at 8pm, and a sample dish of each option on the menu is presented by waiting staff and described, so that diners need never make the wrong selection. The menu is 5 courses on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 7 courses Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unusually, and despite an extensive wine list, Pecks still invites diners to bring their own wine, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, with no corkage charge.Pecks are dedicated to achieving the very best, and never stop pushing the standards even higher. All our dishes are freshly prepared by a kitchen brigade led by Head Chef Les Wassall – a Pecks veteran of over 10 years – highly skilled in complimenting classic British cooking with innovative and assured modern touches. In recent years, Pecks has opened at lunchtime, offering an impressive a la carte menu, and a daily plat du jour menu representing outstanding value for money - and more recently for afternoon tea.A firm favourite for discerning diners from far and wide, Pecks celebrates over 25 successful years with a fresh lease of life and numerous coverted awards. The restaurant is located close to historic Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire and below the famous landmark Mow Cop Castle, just over the Staffordshire border. Recently acquired by its most enthusiastic customers, local businessman Andrew Pear and his wife Sue - who liked the food so much they bought the restaurant. They are determined to continue in the vein that has made Pecks the venue of choice for generations of diners celebrating special occasions and the stylish makeover inspired by Sue provides an elegant backdrop to acclaimed standards of cuisine and service.

Somewhere we have always said we must go and so glad we finally did... Dinner at 8 with 7 courses.. Food was of an excellent standard.. Dishes were brought to your table and described to you so you cld then make your choices.. Service was excellent without being in your face and the setting itself was impeccable, simple elegant decor, clean, light and airy.. Overall I would say this place is for a lovely decadent treat for special occasions or for a great dining experience ... I got the impression some people were regular customers and it was fully booked, always a good sign!! You might need elasticated trousers though to accommodate all that lovely food!! Lol!! But I doubt you will be disappointed...

This was our second visit and we decided to book with another couple pre christmas. Our first experience we really enjoyed and the second visit was equally enjoyable. This is definitely a great dining experience that we had not previously experienced as the choices available are demonstrated around the dining tables individually and a full explanation given of the meal. The pecks pudding choice was amazing and you instead of having to make a decision of one choice you could have half a portion of two instead. This was great as you were spoilt for choice. The half portion sizes were great also. If you still has not had enough pudding you can forgo the cheese and biscuits for more pecks puddings. Personally we enjoy the cheese and biscuits. Staff were very efficient, the restaurant was busy with it being December and our friends also thoroughly enjoyed the night. We will definitely be returning.

We booked as a group of 8. We arrived due to an illness, a group of 7. We were met being told that it was unfortunate you will lose the deposit for that person. Looking around the restaurant later that evening there was plenty of empty tables, basically everyone was seated in the conservatory. My point being, we hadn't cancelled all the booking, they were not losing out on a full cover, I'm sure they would rather not have someone who had been taken ill earlier that day to have eaten with them. Our drinks bill out weighed the absence of missing person being £126.45 for wine, cocktails and beer.
I always prefer round tables, as a party of 7 the narrow table seemed very crowded and not very social.
Having said that our party was happy with menu, staff pleasant, and if we dine again it will be on the 7 course later in the week, which we have been to before with a fuller restaurant.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, excellent service. Been going for last 5years, never been disappointed. Love the cocktails and the delicious pecks puddings! You get what you pay for here, therefore you can't compare this to the run of the mill establishments.
