“Very interesting”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

A delightful, very interesting, small museum. The introductory film was very informative, and gave me a greater understanding of the Picts. Great use made of a relatively small space, and some nice items in the shop. Very helpful staff.

“Small but informative”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

What a great little museum this is and it's free! Exhibits are well presented and informative on the Picts.
Staff very friendly and keen to help in any way. There was a very interesting and educational video with the choice of three subjects to choose from.
Nice little gift shop.
A good visit for young and old alike.

“Well worth a visit.”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

Free entry which is always good for families, but please leave a donation if you can, and you may be asked some tourism survey questions, that we were pleased to answer.
We also found the lady on duty when we visited to be warm, welcoming and informative. It's a VERY long time since I heard of the Picts and the Scots in school, and it was good to learn more about these mysterious people, and the Pictish trails throughout scotland.
There are plenty of things to see although this is quite a small museum, and parking is free. The museum is on two floors, and if you can't make it upstairs the staff are only too pleased to describe for you with the aid of photographs what you would see upstairs. There is also a video that can be viewed. Children can have activity sheets and can also complete rubbings with crayons of Pictish symbols. Well worth a visit in my opinion, if you have the opportunity, check the website before you visit
