Holiday Inn Morelia
Ranked #39 of 67 Hotels in Morelia
Reviewed 5 February 2013

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Morelia for 14 nights on a business trip. Let's start with the good:
Staff: The staff was really helpful and tried to meet my every need.
Location: the hotel is located right accross the street from a mall with several restaurants and shops.
Breakfast: the breakfast buffet is great with a variety of mexican dishes, fruits, cereals, etc.

The bad: now let's review the bad.

Internet service: although it is free, it kept coming and going, in other words, it is not suitable for business purposes.
A remodelling is urgently needed: dark hallways, old fashioned design, leaks in the roof of the cafeteria, a gym poorly equipped, bathrooms with old-looking design, and an overall 90's look, are reasons to urgently remodel the Holiday Inn Morelia.
Noisy A/C: when turned iff a loud buzz kept you from sleeping. when turned on, the noise of the A/C kept you from sleeping as well!

I live in hotels. From Motel 6 to Peninsula. I enjoyed 6 days at the Holiday Inn Morelia. The building may be aged but the room furnishings are new with central HVAC, flat panel TVs, wireless internet and beautiful pool/lawn areas. The beds are very comfortable, showers have excellent water pressure and rooms have very good illumination and sound proofing. I found the staff always polite, friendly and helpful....they took ownership in my stay. The 2 restaurants provide a wide variety of menu options. And the location on Camelinas blvd is superb. I plan to stay again on my next visit to Morelia.

Old installations, expensive food and fees, it has a bar accross the Street that plays music loud on the weekends till 3am. Noisi guests. I payed 120 Dollars a night and moved to another hotel the next day for 100 dollars 10 times better tan this one. I wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone, i would have prefered to have sleped in my car. Really really bad. They leave the dirty towells infront of the romos when they are cleaning.

Room Tip: Do not go to this hotel

Stayed there for just one night. The hotel is very old, which you will notice right upon arrival. Service is just fatal, no one is willing to help with your needs which is particularily important when traveling with the family.

Bathroom and room in general is outdated and dirty the pool, elevators and general facilities show the pace of time and let everybody notice they have been there for a while.

Air conditioning at my room was extremely noisy and didn't do the trick of cooling the room at all, we had to try to sleep with both the noise and the heat.

Location is great, just in front of a mall and with most restaurants and interesting places within walking distance.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!!

Although the exterior looks modern the lobby area has a local colonial style look. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had the usual amenities but I did notice the walls were bare without photos or paintings of the local surroundings. Otherwise no complaints. The food at the buffet was quite good.

We had to overnight in Morelia before flying out of their airport first thing the next morning.
It has a lovely lobby and bar and was located across the road from a fabulous mall.
Walking to our room from the reception desk was like going into a cave, but the rooms were clean and looked OK. I would stay there again just because of the location.

This is a very nice hotel. I stayed there about 7 times. They have live Latin Jazz in the lobby bar.
Everything is first class. You won't be disappointed. It is situated
below a large hill with many beautiful houses. Accross the street is a
nice and very modern shopping center.
They breakfast buffet is one of the best in Mexico. Downtown is 10 minutes away.

This is a great hotel.
