“best place to buy handcraft items.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2013

whenever I visit Puebla this is one of the must place to visit b/c it offers items that are from all over Mexico at reasonable prices. Don't ever settle on the first price given and do shop around before settle on buying. Some items look like a typical souvenir items but if you do looking around you can find a hidden gem at great price!

“Parian flea market”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2013

The Parian Market use to be a great spot to visit, it has come down a little. You will be able to find a decent souvenir. Like in all folk markets in the world you can certainly bargain for a deal. If you are walking around downtown Puebla is nice to visit. I wouldn't bother a special trip for this.
Ciao.

“the usual suspects”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2013

A tourist market like many others in Mexico. Lots of chotchkes, nothing special. Find a real mercado, or go where the stuff is made (mostly somewhere other than Puebla).

“the same stuff over and over”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2013

very close to the barrio artista is El Parian, a large outdoor market selling cheap knick knacks and souvenirs. Unfortunately most of the gifts are of very poor quality or expensive for what you receive. Take the talavera pottery for example. The word "Puebla" is written in cursive on hundreds of these plates but in a sloppy manner. The tiny ones look the worst. Some things look interesting but as you move to the next vendor and then the next you see that it's mostly the same stuff over and over and over. One guy gave me a small discount on a gift

“Market with Nick-nacks and Souveniers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2013

Fun market to walk through and pick up some souveniers. Most of the shops sell the same sorts of things. There are also lots of nearby shops with Talavera too.
