I will definetly recommend this resort! This is an amazing gateaway for couples and families. There is tons of things to do plus the service was just amazing. All staff was very friendly to us even though they were barely speaking English. The room was very cozy with jakuzi and fireplace as it was promissed in the voucher that we bought. For the price that we payed the place was over the top nice and we had an amazing gateaway!

What a wonderful experience, from the beautiful scenery, well-appointed comfortable rooms to the exceptionally friendly staff and unbelievable food. If you are looking for a place to relax and re-energize, this is it. Take one of the canoes out to explore the long uninhabited shorelines of this quiet little lake nestled between two mountains and you will immediately fall in love with the environment.

The rooms are exactly what you want for a wilderness get-away, comfortable and clean. If you wish a larger space or to mingle with other guests the great room, restaurant or balcony are all very welcoming for anything from conversation or table games to just quietly enjoying a good book. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, we truly felt well taken care of and appreciated throughout the duration of our stay.

Your biggest challenge will be on deciding what to have for dinner from a very well-diversified menu offering something for all tastes with much of it prepared in the classic French style…no shortage of butter or cream here. I highly recommend the Chèvre with the House Tomato (jam) followed by the Duck Confit.

Congratulations to Jean Jacques and his staff, well done on all counts, looking forward to our next visit to Couleurs de France.

My first time ever writing a review and I must say I am shocked by all the negative comments. This was a quiet, romantic escape. The room was clean and had everything you could need. let's keep in mind its a chalet, who needs a microwave? a litle silly to comment that you need a microwave. the food was a 5 star plus rating. my fiance had the sanglier and i had the duck. the staff was extremely friendly and we never had to wait for a thing. yes the room doesnt have a shower but you make the best of it.LOL we took the canoe out for 2hrs and it was such a quiet peaceful experience. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an escape. we will be booking our wedding there next August.

if you are going for a romantic getaway, be sure to not have to go to the bathroom as there is no door separating the room from the stall and the walls are not all the way.

Our room was right under the dining room so all we could hear was the thumping of people walking and the loud laughter of people who had too much too drink.

There was no fireplace in the room as advertised. We didn't eat supper there as there was NO vegetarian option and the price for the rest of the offering was on the very high side.

The bed was Ikea style ( not confortable at all) and we had great patio door but other guests would just walk right in front of our room to see the lake and thus could see us on the bed.
We decided to watch tv but it was a very small tv.
There was so much ice on the entry that we actually got stuck and had to be towed by a ATV that a guest was using. ( and yes I have winter tires).

Once everybody went to bed, it was very quiet so we could have slept beautifully if it wasn't for the mattress.

It would be in need of a lot of renovation to block the noise, close the bathroom and offer a large tv and internet.

Good thing it was a Tuango deal and we paid half price.

I got a deal on Tuango (a Quebec deal website) for a one-night stay at this place.

It was easy to find, lots of signs on the road. There is a long unpaved road to get to the auberge though, with lots of potholes so that was not very enjoyable. We were on that for about 5 minutes.

Check-in was a little confusing. When you walk in to the main chalet, there is no indication as to where check-in is. There's something that looks like a desk at the front entrance, but it turns out check-in is at the very end of the main floor of the main chalet. One of the employees told us that's where it was. The owner showed up a few minutes later, and greeted us. Seems like a nice guy, and showed us to our room downstairs. He did make a bit of a face though when we said no when he asked if we'll be joining them for dinner.

As soon as walked into our room (number 10), we wished we had a room upstairs as we could hear loud footsteps and talking (we were right under the "restaurant" area" where people eat). The bonus of being on the first floor though is that we had a nice view of the lake (patio doors) and direct access to the hot tub. I bet this place is amazing in the summer.

The reason why we decided not to have dinner there is because of the price and selection (I'm a very picky eater). Before arriving at the auberge, we stopped at Bistro Chez Pepere for lunch, literally a few minutes drive away. The food was so good that we went back for dinner. I can't speak highly enough about this place. It was quiet as well since we were visiting off season. After dinner, we wanted to go to the convenience store but both were closed (it was just before 9pm). There isn't much in the area so we went back to the auberge.

By 10pm, it seemed that everyone was in bed, there was barely any noise, and thank god, no one walking upstairs. The auberge had actually turned off the lights in the living room and kitchen area, which was great for us.

Breakfast was ok - You can get eggs and bacon, as well as juices, yogurt, fruit salad and cereals.

As another reviewer mentioned, the deal was supposed to include a fireplace in the room, but we did not have one (not that we cared). Also, the room doesn't have a shower, only a tub (jacuzzi). There is a shower head but it's the type that you have to pull out. There is no door to the shower, simply a curtain, but that was fine for us as a couple.

Nice place but could definitely use some renovations.

It would take only some tweaking to take this property so-so to fantastic. On one hand, you have an amazingly beautiful location and awesome facilities, on the other hand, issues with room comfort, food and small but important details. I would love to see the place taken up a notch, it would be a great getaway spot for a few days and I would surely become a regular visitor, especially in the fall. This is a very long review, posted in hope that my suggestions wil be considered.

Lots of flies in the main chalet rooms during some times of the year - I am not sure what could be done about it, maybe not house people in the worst parts of the place when the chalet is mostly empty. Or offer regular vacuuming BEFORE the client complains. Very warm in rooms, windows don't open, just the patio door, which I was not willing to leave unlocked at night because they are all easily accessible. Noise travels in the main chalet and conversations in the lobby reverbate through the building.

The atmosphere is great in the chalet, beautifully decorated, but what about the television that is on at all times of the day in the eating area, even during dinner???
Dinners are included in the price, efforts are made in making this a nice meal but there are hits and misses. Having a French owner, we expected solid fare but the food fell short of the mark. One example: people at other tables complained of too much vinagar in the house salad (and I agree) but the owner did not seemed fazed at all. Soups were very thin, on the salty side. Many main dishes require paying extra, otherwise limited in choices. We were satisfied with our main dishes. Same sides two nights in a row. Coffee is just OK - not up to what is served in France so this is surprising. Breakfasts are the most disappointing, lots of store bought items (ex: small boxes of cereals) - it made me think of something meant to feed large groups. What about some local cheeses and some imagination with the egg dishes?

Maybe the owners don't want to invest in these improvements. They seem to have enough clientele from Europe. Maybe one day I will try again for the pleasure of enjoying the location, but in the meantime I spend my fall vacations somewhere else.

Terrible experience. I have stayed in many many places and some 40.00 a night motels have way better service and facilities. Here's the list of awful things:
Given smaller and different room than what we paid for.
No fireplace as booked.
Dead flies and insects in bath.
Blinds in washroom broken so we could not take advantage of Jacuzzi bath as people walking outside can see us naked.
Water is cloudy and disgusting.
Could not use balcony as snow was not removed.
Employees never smiled and are utterly unhelpful or unwilling to help.
Nordic spa was closed and exercise and game room inaccessible again because snow was not removed.
Pipes would rattle very noisily for 5 minutes every time toilet was flushed.
Breakfast just boxed cereals and some toast. Fruit salad is canned and we could tell it was old.
Waitress was worst most rude waitress I have ever experienced. She never smiled and actually gave us some faces which made us feel like we were bothering her.
No thank you's or your welcomes from every single employee.

How this place stays open I'll never know. I'm in the customer service industry so maybe I'm expecting too much but at the bare minimum you should be thanked when checking out.

Worst customer service experience I have ever experienced especially for the price. BTW skip the overpriced crappy breakfast.

We wanted to go out and do many things as they advertised but just ended up hanging out in room as everything they offered was broken, not open, or inaccessible.

Find another auberge in the area and avoid this one like the plague.

Don't think they can fix these problems as all the employees apathy towards guests seems to originate from owner or management.
