“Great hotel, great hosts.”

We stayed at St. Benet's Abbey for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by Kate, a member of the staff there, who was very welcoming and made us a complimentary tea and coffee upon our arrival. JJ, who along with Lyn, own and run the hotel then appeared and had a chat before he showed us our room, which was large, clean and very characterful, with probably the largest bed I have ever seen! Everything was laid out in such a way as to show that real attention to detail was being made. After a comfortable night we had breakfast, which involved a buffet of cereal, fruit and juices if required followed by a traditional or vegetarian cooked breakfast which was cooked beautifully. We would thoroughly recommend St. Benet's for a quiet and relaxing small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere, located ideally for exploring Cornwall.

Our second stay in this quality characterful establishment and once again a lovely tranquil setting for the weary traveller. A welcoming & relaxing place to come home too, for the businessman, the tourist and romantics. Ideally located, promoting easy reach of all the Cornish highlights. A wonderful private gem.

Room Tip: As with any Hotel there is a variety of room preferences, best to ask JJ orLyn for advice.

My partner and I stayed here for the Easter Break with our daughter and had a lovely time. The owners JJ & Lynn were very welcoming and told us the best places to go as a family. The food was great and the family room was perfect for us. Definately will be going back in the future and will be recommending this place to others to stay. To know that the owners have been here since November and is still very new to them, you would not of known, I wish them every success for the future and hopefully will be back soon.

From JJ's welcome to Lynn's farewell we were continually made to feel at home by these two very obliging hosts. We stayed here for three days and were very glad we chose this B&B/guesthouse. The lounge was a wonderful place to sit in front of the open fire, backed up with central heating. We even shared it on the first evening with the host's extended family that was visiting. Our room was very spacious, with a most comfortable super king bed. The breakfasts were cooked by Lynn and served by a very friendly local waitress. They were exactly what was ordered, with very fresh produce. JJ and Lynn were closing the house down after we left for renovations. JJ told us about some of their plans for the future and we wish them every success. If you are visiting the area after January, then this is the place to stay. You will not be disappointed.

The new owners are so passionate about the Abbey and when their vision for it is in place, it will be outstanding. Wonderful hosts, interesting & engaging with a strong desire to make you comfortable. Excellent room, lovely & quiet , with the biggest most snug & comfy bed you could imagine. Breakfast served at a lovely pace, not fussy & over the top, just natural. A good full English breakfast, qaulity produce with endless coffee. I did struggle with the wheelbarrow full of toast that was provided, no shortage of food here guys.!!! We will be regulars to this unique hide away.

We were 2 nights here and loved our stay! The new owners (JJ and Lynn) looked after us so well. Really exciting hearing about this wonderful building which is a mix of quaint and historic but inviting and comfortable. The grounds are very pretty too. Lovely room, great nights of sleep and excellent breakfasts. The location is perfect - at the edge of the village so quiet and a rural feel, but close to a good road network and a good local pub and good fish/chip shop!

Room Tip: There is a room on the ground floor which is lovely and suitable for people wanting to avoid steps

Brief stay at St Benet's shortly after the new owners took over - absolutely splendid! The Abbey itself is very quaint and unusual and with the upgrades JJ & Lynn (the owners) apparently have planned this will undoubtedly be a real `find'. Although it's in a very quiet village St Benets is almost equidistant between the Eden Project, Padstow and Newquay Airport all of which are less than 30 mins away. We'll be coming back!
