This is a small 3 room inn that is a comfortable place to stay in Barra, and hosts both gringos and Mexicanos. It is near enough to the center of everything (meaning a short walk) but away enough to be quiet. There were 2 beds, a dining table, and a functional kitchenette with a refrigerator that has a freezer big enough to hold a bag of ice (which is key there!) which you can conveniently get from the Oxxo store about 1 block away. There was an air conditioner, which was key in late May. The pool is small but provides the needed cooling off, and Marsha (the owner, from California originally,) is great. It is not luxurious, it is functional and affordable, and we liked it a lot.
Note – if you use the water taxis over to the Wyndham Grand Hotel, don’t stop at the first place the taxi guys hang out at. Walk on down to the boatmen's cooperative, Sociedad Cooperativa de Servicios Turísticos. They have posted prices, in the range of 30-35 pesos each way. We stopped at the first spot, didn’t negotiate, and paid 50 pesos each way. And they had a laugh on us (the extra 15 pesos is about a dollar)
