we live in cornwall but we wanted need abreak away and we found this place online, i arranged this for my boyfreind as a suprise and although it was little expensive it was worth every penny. The attentional to detail on all the small things like the bubbly, chocolate and lit candles was so secial. The cottage is the perfect mixture of old romance and modern day luxuary. It was every thingi hoped for and more it was truely breath taking. The owners zoe and phil are really lovely and very helpful in trying to make you feel welcome and the truly enjoy there business and guests.

Just returned from a week at Honey Hedge. The attention to detail by Zoe & Phil is second to none in both the beautiful interior design & the additional luxuries provided. The setting is lovely & the peace & quiet provided the head space we needed. Quality base for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall, wish we were still there !

We first visited the cottages at Kymaurah on our Honeymoon, a stunning week in December where the sun shone all week - perfect for enjoying sunrises from Lamorna View's giant picture window, and cloudless night skies in the hot tub, spotting stars whilst sipping champagne!
Zoe and Phil, the owners, made sure we had such a good time that it was less than 4 months before we were back again, to try a different cottage!

For our honeymoon, we stayed in Lamorna View, a large self contained cottage to the south of the other two on the complex. It has a private car park space and private garden, with sun loungers, table and chairs for eating out and of course, the amazing hot tub.

Inside the cottage is very stylish, the cuddle couch is incredible (we have since bought one!) and great to have a large TV, DVD player and Sky TV if the weather isn't so good for going outside.
The kitchen is small but has everything you need. The bathroom is of the wet room type and has a giant waterfall shower. The antique bath tub is also great, but be aware as it is a couple's property, there are no doors - it's all open!

Zoe and Phil's hospitality is splendid, as mentioned in other reviews there is a bottle of bubbly on arrival and chocolates, rose petals on the bed and even a food hamper for us in the kitchen as we were spending a week there. They will then leave you to your own devices (save a daily quick hot tub check which they try and do when you're out anyway), but are always available if you need them - just text them and they always get back to you. We were delighted to receive a spare pair of wellies from them to borrow, as we hadn't thought to pack any with our wedding luggage - which made things a lot easier when going for walks in Cornwall in December!

They are also friends with a local chef, Darren, who prepared a delicious meal (fresh Cornish Sea Bass with an Asian dressing) for us and hand delivered it to the cottage, and even more kindly the cost of this was subsidised by Zoe and Phil too. Great stuff! Leaving this place is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Second time around we tried the Dovecote, a smaller cottage adjoining the main farmhouse (but you wouldn't know anyone else was there when you are inside). The hot tub area at the Dovecote in particular was so hidden, we had no idea it was there at all when we were at Lamorna View! The styling is more rustic and gothic, which is lovely for the winter time, and we spent a lot of time on the large sofa by the fire. There is a fridge and microwave but if you are after full kitchen facilities then choose Honey Hedge or Lamorna View. To us, this was just encouragement to once again utilise the services of chef Darren Broom (this time we had a three course meal with wine - outstanding - he even did bespoke veggie food for my wife and a totally different meal for me), and also to visit more of the lovely pubs and restaurants around the area.

The Dovecote also has a little metal heart which you can place in the window if you need the fire re-stoking and the cottage servicing - just leave it there when you go out, and come back to luxury. Wish we had one at home!

Although smaller than Lamorna View, there is still ample space at the Dovecote, helped by the way it is laid out, and the lovely furniture chosen by Zoe and Phil creating distinct areas within the cottage.

It should be mentioned that the cottages are quite remote, the Lamorna Wink is possibly the only walkable pub, although Mousehole isn't too far down the narrow country roads. Having said that once you're in the hot tub it's very hard to want to go anywhere else!

We walked back from Paul (near Mousehole) one night and Zoe and Phil very kindly offered to pick us up, but we fancied the walk... (Should have taken them up on it in retrospect though!)

Definitely visit Land's End if the weather is good, the sunset is always breathtaking. The attractions are a bit tacky but the Land's End Hotel does good beer and good fish and chips and is perfectly placed for the sunset. Also the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek is fabulous, and Mousehole is just about the quaintest place I have ever seen. Again, great fish and chips in the Ship Inn too. The King's Arms at Paul is also excellent and only a short walk from Mousehole. St Michael's Mount (go in the morning - less tourists) is a must on a day with good visibility too, and there are so many more attractions we haven't even discovered yet.

I am a film maker by trade and showed Zoe and Phil some of my photos from our first trip - they asked us if we wouldn't mind doing some more, and we had a lovely evening taking photos, drinking Prosecco and chatting with them over at Honey Hedge (the third cottage) and even though they had already treated us with a lovely evening they also gave us a free extra night in the Dovecote.

It's very obviously a passion project as well as a business for the owners and it really helps make you feel special when you stay there. We are going again later in the year to try the third and final cottage, Honey Hedge, and if it's anything like the other two, we'll want to move in!

p.s. mobile signal very patchy but found I could get full 3G on Three when outside at Lamorna View - but put the phone away - this is a time for love, romance and hot tubs, and it's perfect!

Honey Hedge cottage is accessed by a very long narrow lane but when you get there it is amazing. The whole area was lovely and quiet and the hot tub in the secret garden was enjoyed quite a lot of the time but it felt nicer sitting in the lovely heated water whilst it rained on our first night. We managed to pull our selves away the next day to walk to Lamorna Cove then onto Mousehole then back to the hot tub after a long walk.Whilst we were spoilt for choice with the hot tub there was also a beautiful slipper bath and an amazing shower, this is truly a great way to spend some romantic time with your other half.On arrival we were shown into a very romantic candle light setting with red roses, chocolates and a bottle of bubbly on ice and a card, what more could you ask for.The stay was just what was needed and made even more enjoyable by a hamper hand made and delivered by Darren Broom full of exciting and new things to try ours lasted 2 days there was so much food.Zoe & Phil were never far away if needed but it felt like we were on our own most of the time can't thank them enough they have created a truly idyllic place to spend time with the one you love. they go even further with the little extras to get you going the tea, coffee, milk & sugar and the cooking oil, herbs and dishwasher tablets I could go on for ages you really could turn up for your holiday contact Darren Broom and not venture outside it would be soo lovely.

Room Tip: There are 3 cottages Honey Hedge has the hot tub enclosed so can be enjoyed what ever the weather.

We stayed in the dovecote cottage, which was cosy and nicely converted with all the stone walls exposed and lovely flagstone floors. We were on our honeymoon. The hosts leave nice little touches like a bottle of cava on ice, roses and chocolates and candles lit. The cottage is reasonably basic, a little sink and a toaster and microwave and a small mini fridge. There is no bath, but the shower is a nice large stone tiled one. Do take your own products as no shower products are provided. We also could not find a hair dryer. If it's fine you can cook on the BBQ outside on the little decked yard, where there is also a lovely hot tub. From there are views of the sea and at night great for star watching. The cove is about 25 mins walk down a steep footpath. Lamorna Cove itself isn't very nice, tacky gift shop, cafe, overpriced car park. However, you can start a lovely coast path walk from here and go all the way to Mousehole, a beautiful walk. There were no walking guides left out, which would have been useful. It would have been nice if a few maps were provided for guests to borrow, and guides to the coast path and maybe tips about local walks. Apparently a pub, the Lamorna Wink, is nearby and within walking distance but we didn't know how to walk there. The hosts greeted us on arrival and we didn't see them again. Despite me signing all our email exchanges as ms and ms, as we are a lesbian couple, they kept replying to me as mr and mrs. They seemed slightly shocked when they saw us and did not offer any congratulations despite us booking the cottage for our honeymoon and having come straight from our wedding. However, they explained the basics about the cottage and said we could contact them if needed. The cottage is pretty self explanatory so we actually didn't need to contact them and although we looked for them when we left to say goodbye we couldn't see them though they were around taking care of the other cottages.

Zoe and Phil put their heart and soul into their business and their passion rewards as the three cottages at Lamorna are beyond 5 star luxury.

Natalie and I spent our Honeymoon in Lamorna view. The first night was cold and rainy giving us the perfect excuse to snuggle up on the cuddle couch and light a fire in the burner.

The remainder of our week was warm Cornish days, filled with moonlit nights that cast a silver shimmer across the sea. We spend many an evening in the hot-tub watching stars in the sky with next to no light-pollution. We switched on the TV once and that was it! We spend the rest of the time exploring the many attractions nearby from shopping and Seal watching in St. Ives to catching a play at the stunning Minnack Theatre and spend a delightful afternoon on the world class Porthcurno beach, there are very few beaches in the world that are better!

So many places out that serve great food, Ben's Kitchen @ Marazion and Beach @ Sennen Cove were our favourites.

I do completely understand why so many people come back year after year and so many several times in a year as I know Natalie and I will be one of them.

Room Tip: If you want a private chef book early as Darren from the Wild Larder gets booked up weeks and months...

WOW~!!

Zoe and Phil are the perfect hosts, always available if you need them but new intrusive.
The cottages are amazing, log fires, cuddly sofas, amazing views, super hot tubs. Everything is well thought out with so many little extras which go a long way. We will be back.

We went fishing off a boat the Mermaid and caught some fish for tea, brilliant.

The sea views from the cottages overlooking the cliff top are really beautiful, the ONLY thing you can hear are the birds singing!!

Thank you.

Room Tip: great local shops including a super fish shop just up the road with a blue door ask Zoe
