A nice welcome and the house is charming. Our double room size was fine, chest of drawers, wardrove, washbasin. Breakfast excellent.
I have only rated it 3 stars for the following reasons:
Small double bed (only 4ft 6"). This is too small and the room could take a 5ft bed. Cheap pillows and duvet and the duvet was a little small for the bed, ie it didn't overlap the sides of the bed enough so my husband and I had a tug of war every time we turned over in the night. The room was not en-suire which I had not realised and at £70 per night I would have expected it to be. Shared bathroom was very small with a small shower cubicle. The bathroom is shared between 3 double rooms so there was often a wait at peak times (morning/evening). I would have expected another seperate lavatory. No shared sitting area for guests so you have to stay in your room. Overall I didn't think it justified the price.
We had tried to get into the Gurnards Head which has small double rooms at £95 per night but this does include an en-suite. Unfortunately they were fully booked. We did eat there (and have done 3 times before) and also enjoy the food - thoroughly recommended.More
