Having returned from The Hut this afternoon, I can honestly say this was one of my favourite holidays to Cornwall. Staying in The Hut was a new and exciting experience and exceeded expectations. It's set in a fantastic location on Treworgeh Farm and I'm very envious of Holly and Andy! A great base to explore nearby coastal villages and woodlands and escape from everyday life.

Holly was welcoming on arrival and the hut was all ready and kitted out with the essentials and more and as soon as we saw the hut we felt at home. Our biggest challenge was negotiating the horses from the hut to our shower block, one of them had a lot to say throughout our stay - make sure you bring a torch and some Dutch courage for the midnight dash to the toilet!

The three nights flew past and the weather was great for us, fantastic way to spend the Bank holiday. Would love to come back at some point in the future!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay here at the Shepherd’s Hut, and thank you for taking the trouble to share your experiences with this lovely review. We think that the horse you mentioned had been separated from her long time stable friend for the first time during your stay – so perhaps that explains why she was so chatty! We have recently put up some extra fencing so the midnight dash to the loo will be free from horsey obstacles now! We would love to welcome you back in the future – perhaps you could try our new Lambing Hut next time? It’s in an equally peaceful spot on the farm with more amazing views.

Thank you again for your review, best wishes from
Holly and Andy

Such a lovely place to stay. The hut is perfect, in the middle of the countryside, we felt so relaxed and comfortable there. I have a vivid memory of our first morning, it was sunny, we opened the door and just enjoyed the view on the fields from the bed, it was so quiet and cosy!

We also have to mention Demelza the super friendly pig, she's so cute and fun, a real bonus to this place! :) (we attached a pic ;) )

We did not have a car but the train station and public transports from Sandplace, 15minutes away, were super effective.

To summarise it was a perfect balance between nature, simplicity and comfort, it was hard to leave!

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review! We are glad you enjoyed your break in the countryside - Demelza certainly enjoys having the company so I am sure she was sad to see you leave. We are glad that travelling by train worked well for you - when the line is fixed at Dawlish the journey will be even more picturesque as the tracks run along the sea shore for several miles there with wonderful views. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

We arrived for our Valentine weekend with our Weimaraner, Dylan in one of the biggest storms of the century with 80 mph winds! However, once we had settled in and got the wood burner on the go we were toasty and secure in the little hut. Hearing the rain hammering on the roof, listening to music on the wind up radio and snuggled up in the very comfy bed it was glamping at its best. The hut was perfect and the views spectacular. It really was a great place to step off the treadmill for a while. We loved it so much we are rebooking later this year to experience the hut in the summer.

Wow, thank you for such a lovely review! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. The fact that you enjoyed your stay despite the frightful weather on your first night really makes us happy – the location and the view make it a lovely place to be on a sunny day as you will have seen on the Saturday and Sunday, but that you enjoyed it even with a tempest outside on Friday is wonderful to hear! We look forward to seeing you again in the summer…

This beautiful converted shepherd's hut really exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful five day stay during the last week of August. Nicely set aside from the rest of the farm/cottage complex, we felt as separate as we wanted to be from other humans and very much at peace, particularly in the evenings. The trio of horses in the adjecent field were a bonus for us as animal lovers, even though they did manage a midnight break-in into our enclosure on the first night of our stay - so maybe improved fencing wouldn't go amiss to help avoid similar fun and games in the future!

In terms of location, it was perfect for us - no more than half an hour from the attractions we wanted to see. If you visit, we'd recommend the nearby Monkey Sanctuary, the Cornish Orchards cider shop just down the road, the beaches at Lansallos and Looe Island off the coast of Looe. But there is plenty more besides and lots of good local walking for the adventurous.

Big thanks to Holly for doing such a great job of the hut. We will certainly be recommending the place to friends, and we may even visit again in the future.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post such a lovely review of and a great photo of the Shepherd’s Hut. It sounds like you really made the most of your stay here. We are sorry the horses were naughty and broke in to the garden, but thank you for letting us know! We will add fencing improvements to our list of jobs to do over the winter. We hope to welcome you again in the future when your neighbours may be sheep or goats, or perhaps the horses again!

My boyfriend, his springer spaniel and I stayed here for a week at the beginning of July 2013 and, I have to say, we all loved it so much that we really didn't want to leave! The setting was absolutely perfect, with gorgeous views across the valley to the outskirts of Looe, and our closest neighbours were 3 horses and a nanny goat - can't ask for better than that! The hut itself was absolutely delightful, the furnishings were perfect for the setting and the small details like a wind-up radio and torch really made a difference. We loved having a barbecue using the firepit, but we were a little bit disappointed that we couldn't use the wood burner - the temperature didn't go below 28 degrees the whole time we were there, but we're definitely not going to complain about that!

This little hut was perfect as a base for further exploration of Cornwall, but we were equally happy to spend time just chilling out and reading in the tiny garden around the hut. Definitely go and check out the shop up at the farm, we bought some of the most delicious free range eggs we've ever had while we were there! The apple juice from the local orchards is also worth purchasing.

Alex and Jo were really welcoming and friendly, but were not "in our faces" the whole time - I think we also saw them a couple of times in the whole week we were there, but we knew that they weren't too far away should we have needed anything.

Words really don't do this place justice - I would just recommend it to anyone that wanted a few days or more of simplicity and tranquility in beautiful surroundings!

We just loved the idea of a Shepherds Hut to stay in, as we have our own beach hut in Dorset which we love. This really is a fantastic place to stay - the hut itself just beautiful and nestled in a very quiet corner of the site (well.... complex of pretty , quaint cottages) Lots of lovely touches to make things extra special, access to the pool which is stunning and the mod cons of an WI FI info room and produce stall. The view from the hut was lovely and we were not overlooked at all - just by Harvey the horse in the field next to us! Highly recommend this beautiful 'glamping' spot.... and for those who'd rather have a few more home comforts close to hand, their cottages are stunning too.... we will be going back for sure.

The Shepherd's Hut was the perfect spot for my solo weekend trip to Cornwall. It had every amenity one could ask for superbly engineered into a tasteful (practically luxurious) and surprisingly spacious room, including a large and very comfortable bed, a well equipped 'kitchen,' a toasty wood burning stove and glorious views of fields and Looe beyond. The very large and modern 'bathroom' is only a short walk away and also has a wood burning stove, thick towels and even a small refrigerator. In comparison to a wide range of hotel, B&B and other 'glamping' experiences, my stay at the hut ranks as one of my most fun, unique and memorable travel experiences.
