Spent the last weekend here with my wife and two sons 6 and 3 it was 5 stars all the way.

Sometimes at the more high end places you feel that the kids aren't that welcome.

I didn't feel it once here the staff, facilities, food were all brilliant they have a good thing going here.

Our daughter treated us to a champagne afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel and grounds are spectacular, service very good and the tea was scrumptious - particularly good scones and thick cream.

We had a one night spa break booked here as a chill-out reward to ourselves. I rocked up pretty stressed on Thursday afternoon straight from work. My wife had checked in first and left the key with reception. My first experience set the tone for the stay, I mentioned at reception that my wife had left a key 'Aaahhh - Mr Hxxxxxxxxxx? Yes, I have it here, shal I show you to your room?' and was whisked off to the room without further ado.

The spa centre is excellent and relaxing. Easy to order a drink and get it brought. Lovely wood burning fire outside by the hot tub. Cannot fault to spa centre - even had deodorants, shaving cream and free razors on request.

The room was excellent and well equipped (the variety of tea's was most appreciated). The bed was very comfortable (not the usual 'harder than oak' stuff)

The barman was excellent and managed the trick of remembering your name for the whole say, as did our waitress. The cocktails were excellent and the dinner, while pricey was first class and could not be faulted.

When I say 'effortless', I mean that everything that happened was the way it should be. I am sure they may have been running around in the background, but we only saw the 'swan' on the surface - not the legs going like hell under the water. We never even saw housekeeping, and yet they kept the room immaculate at all times - everything was simply done - no fuss, no mess and no trolleys blocking corridors.

I really cannot find any fault, other than having to check out and not stay longer (oh and of course the bill itself, but I guess quality does not come cheap).

A wonderful relaxing Old English Cotswold retreat type break. Highly recommended for couples, although there were a few families there too.

We took a mid week spa break at Calcot and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a lovely room, the Norfolk, very comfortable bed with high thread count bed linen, double walk in shower and double ended bath. The spa is very well thought out with a decent size pool and very well equipped gym. The outside hot tub is set in a courtyard with loungers and a wood burning fire. Our treatments were also enjoyable, the treatment rooms are very comfortable with heated beds and the relaxation room ideal for maximising the benefits of a soothing treatment. Generous sauna and steam rooms overlook the indoor pool and adjoin the relaxation room. The Conservatory restaurant was exceptional, both in cuisine and service. I'd recommend ordering a cocktail, I had the best martini in years! The only downside was that we stayed one night and despite it feeling as though time had stood still - I can always force myself to stay 2 in a hotel of this standard.

Room Tip: If you can, push the boat out and book a deluxe room.

Went to Calcot for three nights in June for work and took the family along. The business facilities were excellent and it provides a lovely setting for getting away form the office. Everything ran smoothly and there was always someone from the hotel on hand if there were any issues.

This hotel is probably the most family friendly I have been to, with the pools, the kids club, the rooms, the high tea in the gumstool inn and the general attitude towards children from the staff.

There is no doubt that the hotel is expensive (one of the guests had their helicopter parked in the grounds), but felt it was justified by achieving a rare balance between luxury (for the adults) and keeping the children happy.

A beautiful and relaxing stay in the middle of beautiful Cotswolds - who could ask for anything more?
The rooms were comfortable, the public spaces were comfortable and well-appointed, and the restaurants served plenty of delicious food! If that weren't enough, the spa offers plenty of options for all exercisers, as do the lovely rolling fields in which to walk. If one chooses, bikes are also available for a country outing.
The whole resort is nicely done, and works well for families as easily as it does for couples.

Such a great hotel! Happy to share our positive review. Great family room, nice outdoor pool, great garden. Nice restaurants and wonderful breakfast. The hotel has a kids club for the little ones, a 'teen zone' with games, a spa and a golf course nearby for the adults.
Great location to experience the Cotswolds and make a trip to Bath.
Only suggestion I could make to the hotel is allowing teens to use the games in the evening as well.
