“Absolutely fantastic - the best place we stayed in Mexico”

We stayed at Villa Lilli as part of a longer trip through Mexico - we had planned to only stay in Puerto Escondido for a couple of nights, but quickly extended that when we saw Villa Lili! It was far and away the best place we stayed in Mexico, our room (one of the Master suites) was huge, with a gorgeous hot-tub and the whole place was spotless, but Adelina and her excellent team really made our stay - they were endlessly helpfull.

Villa Lili, a place that attracts and astonishes for its warmth and simplicity. Away from the convention, Villa Lili is a concept for those who, as me, are seeking a place for rest and relaxation. The magic is within the details.

With just nine rooms, Villa Lili has creative and innovative facilities, which are suited to the climate and are environment-friendly. Along with easy listening music, indirect lighting, and comfortable lounge chairs and couches, common areas create a homey atmosphere, properly for enjoying a tasty breakfast in the morning, an afternoon at the pool or a bedtime reading. With an impeccable maintenance, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and details that give each a distinctive personality.

Its location is very suitable. Located within one of the most exclusive zones of Puerto Escondido, it is near the Boulevard Benito Juárez (where you can find shops of all kinds: small restaurants, cafes, bars, convenience store, laundry, etc.) and quiet beaches. Moreover, since Puerto Escondido is a rather small town, staying at Villa Lili you can also have on hand (with a travel of not more than 10 minutes) the main attractions and strategic points.

Not being enough, what distinguishes Villa Lili from other hotels where I have stayed is the attention I received. Adelina, the hostess and owner of Villa Lili, is responsible for providing a personalized treatment, based on a genuine concern for the well being of the host. She recaptures the essence of hospitality, in my opinion, something not so easily found. Adelina not only ensures your comfort at the hotel by providing, for example, delicious and varied breakfasts or clean and functional spaces, but she also shows great interest in your overall stay. She suggests places to eat, easy access to local attractions and she makes sure to be always available to meet any request that may arise during your stay.

Without doubt, Villa Lily is a different place and worth of staying. It is an experience that only in few places can be lived.

We just returned from a three week stay in Mexico. We flew into Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa and made our way to Puerto Escondido by bus. We had no accomodation booked when we arrived and had planned to stay for a "few days" before making our way south to Huatulco.

That all changed when we discovered Villa Lili.

Adelina took us to see Villa Lili because there was no room at Quinta Lili (which we also loved) and it was, quite frankly, like stepping into an oasis. The hotel itself is beautiful, the yard is stunning, tranquil music playing in the background.....this was it for us. We ended up staying nine nights...and here's why:

Yard: there is a lap pool, yoga mats, area for sun, area for shade, communal kitchen area and Adelina's impressive orchid garden.

Rooms: we were lucky enough to have a tour of all of the rooms during our stay, all were different, all just as charming and clean as the next. We stayed in the "Nemo" room for the majority of our stay. It has a jacuzzi tub in the room, comfortable king size bed, private balcony (beautiful sunsets and view of the ocean from here), fridge, wireless internet, good shower and very clean.

Breakfast: included in the price and is served from 8:30 to 10:30, at your liesure. There was fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee/tea, fresh juice and a hot Mexican dish. We typically just needed a small snack to get us through to dinner.

Location: five minutes from Playa Carrizalillo which, in my opinion, is the nicest beach in Puerto Escondido (and we saw them all). It's a small, quiet beach, good for swimming and lounging, surfing lessons are offered and food and beverages are readily available. There are many good restaurants within walking distance and others that are short cab ride away (note: every recommendation given by Adelina was a good one....we did not have a bad meal during our stay). We walked all over Puerto Escondido from our hotel and very rarely took a cab.

Service: here is what puts Villa Lili over the top. Adelina and her staff. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful and Adelina worked tirelessly to make sure that we were always taken care of. The first day of our stay in Puerto, Adelina sat with us for over half of an hour going through a map of the area, providing recommendations of where to go and what to see. We used this map a lot! She wore many different hats in the time we were there....from chef (breakfast), to chauffeur (she took us to tour Villa Lili, transferred us from Quinta Lili to Villa Lili and took us to the bus station when it was time to go), to computer scientist (she helped us out when we were having problems with our computer), to tour guide...always with a smile and always with enough time for "one more question".

We will definitely be back!!

We stayed two night at Villa Lili as part of a long trip through Mexico. It had large and meticulously clean rooms and the proprietor Adelina was very helpful and friendly, and speaks English very well. Two ladies take care of the cleaning, and of cooking breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was excellent! First there is a traditional hotel breakfast of fruit, bread and cereal, but this is only the starter before a delicious Mexican breakfast that was different every day. I am a vegetarian, and this was no problem, and the vegetarian food was great. I can very much recommend Villa Lili!

Villa Lili is situated just a 5 minute walk from a nice and calm beach in Puerto Escondido. It is a lovely place with very friendly staff. The owner (Adelina) is making you feel “at home”. When you arrive she tells you all about the places to see, where to eat the best food (and we tried them all!) and what Puerto Escondido has to offer. We simply loved the surfing and releasing baby turtles into the sea (where Adelina took us). Isidra and Josefine (the cleaning and breakfast ladies) are very nice and friendly as well, and they prepare a great breakfast every morning! There’s fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and a Mexican special (different every day!).
There are different rooms at Vila Lili. We loved the one that we stayed in. It is big and spacious, which is why we think that the place can be good for all (families, couples, friends)! The kitchen is open for everyone if you want to cook your own dinner or lunch at home…so there’s no need to go out and eat every evening. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi in the room as well which can make your stay extra romantic :-) Vila Lili is also very relaxing which we liked a lot. We definitely recommend you to stay at Vila Lili! We are sure that you will not regret it and we will definitely try to go back to Puerto Escondido and Vila Lili!

First of all I have to claim that me and my girlfriend were the first ones to make a baby during our stay. That was about 2 weeks after the opening. We're of course very happy now and thankful for that surprise present we took home from vacation.
The atmosphere was very familiar in Quinta Lili. Adelina was training the new service team very well and therefore we had a very comfortable stay. The mexican style breakfast is included in the price and served with fresh juice and tasty coffee. If there was something we didn't like (e.g. my girlfriend doesn't like fish) we were offered alternatives.
Adelina had useful tips for trips, dining and surfing.
In the rating I gave 4 points "only" for cleanliness, service, and location.
This does not mean "it's not clean in Quinta Lili". In fact it's a very clean place to stay. It was just the pool water that could have been of better quality. The location is very nice, especially because from the upper apartments you have a nice sunset view to the ocean. It's just a little far from the town center. The service team was just learning everything and was eagerly tyring to improve.
Alltogether we had a very nice stay in a really great hotel which we can only recommend to people visiting Puerto Escondido. You'll feel very welcome.

After a pretty flight over the mountains from Oaxaca my husband, daughter and I were met at the airport and whisked to Villa Lilli in about 10 minutes. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by Adelina (owner), shown our spotless rooms and given an orientation map and preview of dining spots and activities in the area. Then we sat down in an immaculate outdoor kitchen where we had a wonderful breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, yogurt and local fruits. This was followed by a hot Mexican specialty. (which changed every day).
The serenity and peace of the villa made our stay very restful and yet we were able to enjoy all the beach activities close at hand, including the release of the turtles.
When Adelina drove us to the airport for our early morning flight we felt we were saying goodbye to a good friend.
We highly recommend the Villa Lilli experience.
