“Wild dolphins and matting turtles”

Great experience. Leaving at sunrise to watch dolphins in the wild and matting turtles. The dolphins are not easy to find but the boat drivers keep at it until they find them.

“Top day with Omar”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

If you are going fishing go with Omar. He is a total professional who really knows the waters off Puerto Escondido. Not only did we catch a monster sail fish but we managed to have a lot of fun catching 10 bonito 4 of which ended up on our evening barbeque. While we were on the boat we were lucky enough to see over 30 turtles ( 3 mating pairs) and a pod of dolphins that we circling a school of baitfish. Throughout the trip Omar explained what he was doing and why we were doing it and gave us information on the wildlife of the area. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.

“Exceeded all expectations :)”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Firstly, fishing aside, going out on the boat with Israel the captain and Yonni (or Johny as its pronounced) was great. We all had laughs, their English was great and both made me feel really welcome from word go....then the fishing....wow! Landed 4 sail fish in the 4hrs, trawling is never guaranteed but these guys delivered and made it my fishing experience of a lifetime. Cant thank them enough!

“Best experience in Puerto Escondido”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 via mobile

I went out with Omar three times during my stay in PE.
The first time we dident catch anything unfortunately, the second time we catched a mahi mahi and the third time we catched two! big sail fishes, the biggest around 45 kg.

Even if we dident catch anything the first time it was very interesting and a real adventure to be out with Omar, his son and Johny! Just to be out on the ocean is for me calming and makes me grounded and present.
We saw dolphins, turtles, fly fish, snakes, bonitas and blow fish.
He tried different lures, different areas and fresh baites to try to get something on the hook but nothing worked.
His knowledge about the ocean and fishing is stunning, Omar have so much passion for fishing which is a pleasure to see!
He speaks great english and have many intresting stories to tell.

This was the best experience i had in puerto escondido!
Even if you havent done deepsea fishing before and are unshore, i can truly recommend to go out with Omar beaucause it is a great experience and a great guide! For me it was the first time and i'm hooked big time, part of this is beacause Omar and Johny!

I hope to come back for fishing with Omar and Johny soon!

“Turtles and more...”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We booked with Omar to go and see the turtles. The taxi picked is up at 6:50am as arranged (you pay for either the taxi to or from and Omar pays for the other) and dropped us at the beach where our guide for the morning , Jonhy, enthuastically greeted us (a passionate man who loved to show us the beauty and wonder of his town and country). After we helped push out a couple of boats into the water we jumped into ours and away we went.
Jonhy brought us all along PE's beaches and explained to us which ones were good for swimming, surfing etc, then when the sun crested over the mountains he paused allowing us to take photos of the spectacular scenery before us before telling us to put on our sunscreen as even at this hour we could get burnt (as a member of the pasty skinned I appreciated this).

Then we were off looking for turtles mating (best way to see turtles as they stay on the surface), it didn't take long for us to stumble across our first of many pairs of mating turtles. This was followed by a pod of dolphins which was the highlight of the tour as they whiz zed around the boat and leapt from the water. After being mesmerised by the dolphins we were offered to take a dip in these prestine waters which we happily obliged to. Then we made our way back, spotting more turtles as Jonhy pointed out reef divers, places to snorkel with coral, good beach restaurants and whatever else we saw on our way. Once back at the beach we were bid a warm adios and jumped in the cab home to review the photos.
