Ate here twice during our recent trip to Ixtapa. The new family running this restaurant is doing a tremendous job. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about their food offerings. Ask to see the seafood tray....beautiful. Jesus was our waiter both times and did a wonderful job. I had the tuna twice and was not disappointed. Dessert was chocolate pecan pie with ice cream. Go, Go, Go!

The setting is on the main street, but still very cozy and romantic. The staff are so friendly and want to make your experience special. Food is outstanding. Best Tuna we have ever had. Have to have their signature dessert!! Chocolate pecan pie! Yummy!!

We vacation in Ixtapa for two weeks every year with friends. Soleiado's is always on our list! This year was a special treat as its under new management and what an improvement!! The whole feel of the restaurant from the food to the service is- for lack of another word- PERFECT! The key? It's family fueled! Mom (& ninja son (inside joke) at times) are in the kitchen while dad welcomes guests! The menu offers the best cuisine stateside or in & around Ixtapa!
My favorite setting is a Chilean wine, pork and my favorite desert (this pecan/chocolate pie warmed slightly with ice cream)
DO NOT miss YOUR experience next time you visit Ixtapa!!

We have been coming to Soleiado for 17 years. We have always called it our go to place for a good meal. There were some problems but they have been resolved with new manager (hopefully new owner). Some of the past wait staff are still there and keep service moving well. A new talented chef has added some new items to the menu and kept some of the old standbys. It is a comfortable setting for an elegant meal. I would highly recommend it as a place fine dining!

We have been going to Soleiado for a very, very long time. It was our main restaurant in Ixtapa when we wanted a true dinner treat. At that time the restaurant was owned by a Canadian couple who ran the place and did the cooking. We enjoyed their work and we enjoyed chatting with them. The food and the place was great in so many ways. And then something happened in 2012. We ate there that year and no owners present and the experience was well…it wasn't Soleiado. We heard various versions of the reason for this after our visit and it sounded as if the owners were having some family/personal issues and the restaurant was not their priority any longer. We hoped that this issue was not that serious (they had always been very pleasant and I enjoyed chatting with both of them) but we did not return… until this year as we heard that Soleiado was "back".

I am unsure if there has been a change in ownership (it feels that way) but there certainly has been a change. Different than 10 years ago but just as great. More and new menu items and a great specials board. A couple of challenges with the front of the house (new staff?) but the manager (new owner?) was on top of things and came to their rescue. Really loved the food we received and the overall experience (including wonderful live music but not the unwanted visit by the very loud horse drawn carriage...not Soleiado's fault... it does open to the road).

Happy to return this restaurant to one of the ones we regularly visit.
