Travelled there in March of this year, 4th time in Mexico but first time to Ixtapa, loved Ixtapa and would return but not to this resort.Pros:Private beautiful beach, all rooms face amazing view and friendly staff.Cons: Terrible food, am almost positive there was no liquor in any of the drinks, if you are there just for some rest and relaxation it will be perfect but there is not one thing to do at this resort...no swimming in Ocean as water VERY rough on this side.

This hotel with it's friendly staff and oh so private beach was enough to bring us back a second time. Once again we enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and quiet surroundings, a place for grown up's who do not wish to party till all hours, not that there's anything wrong with that if you're so inclined. The staff are amazing, all very helpful, friendly and fun; they really go out of their way to ensure your comfort. The change in the all inclusive value is something that should not have occured, and we did find a slight reduction in the food quality over last year but all in all this did not upset our stay. Could do with updating the décor, and better lighting in the bathrooms.
The beach is worth it's weight in SAND awesome!

Room Tip: All rooms in this uniquely designed hotel are ocean views. Hats off to Ricardo Legoretta outstanding...

My wife and I have stayed here on many occasions and it's always nice. Beautiful, peaceful resort with great service everywhere. Even during peak season it never feels crowded, you never have to wait for anything or compete for a lounge chair. We went all-inclusive for the first time and thought it was a good value and received the same great service as always. If you haven't been here in a while, some of the undergrowth near the pools are has been removed and the view is fantastic. We stay visit other areas of Mexico but keep coming back to Las Brisas Ixtapa. Mark Keele

My husband and I went for a relaxing 4 days. Mission Accomplished !!
Staff is excellent ! did I mentioned the fresh made tortillas at breakfast?
The beach is private and peaceful. One morning there were dolphins playing in our beach.
What?? seriously, not joke ! rooms have amazing patio balconies with amaca and 2 chairs overlooking the beach, at night what a star show, don't miss it !!
prices at the beach/bar were reasonable really enjoyed that.
I could have used a little higher celling in the bathroom and that did not take anything away from my stay, would go back any day and enjoy the amazing Ricardo Legorreta architecture.

Room Tip: Lower level rooms may miss a little view with the trees in front and you may hear the ocean more, wh...

We had stayed at Las Brisas in 2013 and found it to be a wonderful place and great value for our money. We had love it so much we went back the following year; to our disappointment! Similar to the previous year we went all inclusive. Well it no longer was the case; the same items that were part of last year menu for all inclusive were no longer part of the package. However; for a fee you could order it.

Your better off having dinner in Zihuatanejo!

In addition, the bar in the room has a charge. At check out we were asked if we had consumed anything from the bar that day.
We travelled with our 7 year old the previous year she had been allowed in the restaurants (Portofino, Las Brisas ll) this year they wouldn't allow her therefore; preventing us from enjoying the whole experience. They would allow you to order from their menu but you had to eat it somewhere. Like second class citizens!

My husband and I just returned from a six night stay at Las Brisas. This is our fourth time there and we were not disappointed. It is a great place to relax, rejuvenate and spend days reading and watching the waves. The rooms are simple but very comfortable and each room has its own patio with stunning views of the ocean and beach. There is a beautiful beach and a great pool area. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a place suitable for both couples and families. And of course, Zihuatanejo is a great town with wonderful restaurants. We are already planning a trip back next winter.

This is a tough one to review because there are elements about Las Brisas that are great but things that detract and make it important that you realize it's a value play. For a relatively low base rate, you get a fantastic private beach, great views in reasonably sized rooms in an excellent location between underwhelming Ixtapa and wonderful Zihuatanejo. But you have to avoid the all inclusive and frankly you need to avoid as many meals and "extra" charges as possible. The buffet breakfast I'm sure caters to the "I'm going to eat all I can from the moment I wake" crowd. But walking into Ixtapa for a great breakfast at 1/5 the charge makes sense. Dinners at the hotel are at best so-so, the high end efforts miss the mark by a wide margin. The comments about the pools and condition of the pool furniture are right on-- umbrellas are broken, tiles falling off the poolside. It's clean but it's run down or broken. But the view and location are still unbeatable for the money. Yes, if you want to spend $300-$400 a night there are some places that get it all right. My wife and I enjoyed Las Brisas because we accepted it for what it was for the money. If you do the same, it's a really great spot as a base for your vacation. Just get out for meals and explore the towns. Finally, the staff was generally very courteous and I found service to be very good at the pools and at lunches.
