“A real country cottage”
Reviewed 8 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This cottage was lovely and clean with great decor. It was in easy walking distance of carsington water with its many activities . The children were encouraged to look and play around the farm and to check on the ewes that were lambing. The cottage had loads of
little extras that enhanced the experience e.g binoculars, books. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

“Pleasant , clean cottage be prepared for rural location.”
Reviewed 5 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Nice short stay, clean cottage. Bit chilly in downstairs area as only 1 radiator but then think we picked the coldest days of the winter to come. Right in middle of working farm yard so be prepared for associated noise. Wasn't a issue for us though. Would recommend .

“Luxury on a farm”
Reviewed 17 February 2015 for a stay in October 2014

My husband and I stayed for two nights with our 9 year old and almost 2 year old over Halloween. We all absolutely loved this short break!

The cottage is small but beautiful and the decor is spot on. We said that if we owned a holiday cottage, it would be just like this! We felt at home straight away and within minutes we felt relaxed.

Despite the cottage being so old, it was warm and cosy and really clean. There are lots of windows with beautiful views and we all loved laying on the floor upstairs to look out at the animals. Our two year old was over the moon to see cats, dogs, chickens and sheep when she woke up - Old MacDonald x 100000!

The owners were friendly and there for a chat / anything we needed. Despite being attached to the main house, we didn't hear anything from them - hope they felt the same!

The kitchen was well equipped and there were games, DVDs, toys, equipment for baby / toddler. Perfect.

Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back again.

“Lovely, peaceful holiday cottage”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

A well appointed cottage with thoughtful owners who even provided a Christmas tree for our snowy holiday stay. All amenities in place including dishwasher, washing machine and wifi. The cottage is ideally situated for visits to Carsington water, Ashbourne, Matlock, Bakewell and surrounding areas. There is lots of info in the cottage regarding things to do and places to visit alongside books/ dvds for lazier days. We will definitely return...

“Feels like home”
Reviewed 30 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We spent this weekend at Owslow Cottage to celebrate my birthday. It was such an amazing experience!

The landlords are so amazing, welcoming and warm people. I can't express in words how thankful we are for everything they did for us! We will definitely come again at some point and will express our appreciation with some gifts!

The farm is beautiful, there are plenty fields, animals, massive lakeside (although make sure u find the right pathway cause we were lost in the fields haha, but had fun).

The house is very clean, spacious and beautifully refurbished. There is everything you need! We wish we could stay for longer to enjoy the runaway from busy city life. But even two days were worth it!

Thank you so much for unforgettable weekend!

“Great relaxing environment”
Reviewed 26 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The cottage is located in a very quiet area, away from busy roads. There are lovely walking/cycling routes and pretty towns around to visit. The cottage itself is part of a working farm run by very friendly people and is perfect for a couple or a small family. We (4 adults and baby) enjoyed it very much!
