To start, our room was wonderful... we had a 1-bedroom suite, & it was clean and tastefully decorated. We chose to do the all-inclusive for our stay, starts at three days on up, and because of this, our room was stocked on the first day with bottled water, sodas and beer! The servers at Pina Colada restaurant were wonderful! The servers for the palapas were great, too! Lovely beach & lots of pools. Bathrooms were all clean & stocked. We'll be back for sure!!

Room Tip: One side of the hotel is lagoon side, the other is ocean/pool side. Our view was partially both. I t...

It was nice but not the best of the best. You get what you pay for. We didn't have any problems, it was just an average hotel. WARNING: stay away from the margaritas - they taste like pickles. Or try them for just 85 pesos and see for yourself. We were a bit disappointed with the drinks from the bar, as they seemed to all be made from store bought mixers (and bad ones at that). The nachos, however, was amazing. If you go here, get the nachos. We had them for lunch every day.

The beach was great. The snorkeling off the beach was even better (we saw a turtle!). There's a dive club inside the hotel and we went to rent snorkel gear at like 11am and they guy gave it to us for half price ($5 for a mask and fins per person).

Everything was clean, and our stay was awesome.

Dear Omni Puerto Aventuras Guests,
Thank you for your review regarding your stay with us.
I have reviewed this information with Alejandro, our Food & Beverage Director, and it is time for me to taste the margaritas as well, to make sure they do not taste like pickles (they should have a nice sweet and sour flavour, but not the kind you mentioned).
Yes, the nachos are wonderful, as well as many of our culinary delights.
We appreciate your visit with us and hope w ehave the opportunity to welcome you back in the very near future. Your first margarita is on the house!
Sincerely,
Scott Balesteri

We loved the Omni Puerto Aventuras. We like smaller resorts that are more laid back and this was exactly that. Rooms were very nice and spacious and loved the two way indoor/outdoor shower and our very own jacuzzi. If you are looking for a busy resort that entertains you then this is not your place. This is a more go at your own pace. The food was very good and the wait staff were very personal. Breakfast was included and was a highlight everyday, other meals were very reasonable. Hotel is in a gated community so there are other restaurants and convenient stores. The hotel does not frown on bringing in your own beverages to drink. It was our anniversary and they left us a complementary bottle of wine with cheese platter (thanks). The snorkeling is very good and a very large area. We would love to go back.

The Omni Puerto Aventuras is located inside a gated community with privately owned condos, a marina, a dolphin explorer park, and several shops and restaraunts. The hotel consists of 30 guest rooms on three levels, some facing the marina and others facing the pool and beach.

We arrived at the Omni around 1pm and were greeted with cold wash clothes and bottles of water. Check-in was fast and effective. A bell hop was ready to take our bags to our room. We stayed on the third floor facing the marina. Our room had a king bed and was very clean. The hotel provides two fresh beach towels daily included in your room price. We received a nightly turn down service which included freshening of our towels and toiletries.

As others have commented, staying on the marina side can be noisy with bands from nearby restaurants but it didn't bother our stay too bad. We actually quite enjoyed sitting on the patio or swinging in the wonderful hammock on the warm evenings.

The rooms were great with plenty of space and the showers were really well designed.

The lobby is simple and the hotel has put its efforts to the amenities and the staff.

We found the hotel and restaurant staff to be very cordial, well spoken (Spanish and English), and well presented in their attire. Several of the staff made great effort to remember our names, and even our schedules including any tours or events. One morning we had to leave very early and they had our breakfast boxed and ready to go when we came down. The people at the Omni really made the trip special.

The food was great. From traditional Mexican dishes to more continental selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you simply could not beat the Omni's food. Whoever suggested the nachos by the pool bar in the afternoon could not have been more right. Great value and wonderfully prepared.

Drinks can get expensive at $60 pesos for a beer. We took another's suggestion and got a cooler at the OXXO across the street for $65 pesos and a 12 pack of beer for $150 pesos and took it to the beach every day. Still, they make a fantastic natural margarita well worth the $80 pesos they charge.

The beach is small, and depending on the day the beach could be empty or packed. The beach club at the hotel makes it a bit unpredictable. At high tide the snorkeling is great. We saw a ray, a conch, a turtle, and hundreds of fish. Take your own gear though as renting can be pricy.

The pools were clean and well sized for the hotel although they did not designate a kids pool so some days there were children running everywhere. I considered this hotel to be more of a couples hotel.

The fitness area was well appointed though I admit, I only looked at it. We didn't use the dive shop or the spa but they were always busy and appeared very professional.

Would I go back? Without question. If for nothing other than the chilaquiles.

Room Tip: Spend the money and get a beach view.

My Pros:
Price was very good, staff was friendly, rooms were spacious with good amenities (hammock, small outdoor Jacuzzi), small size hotel, gorgeous beach, good food, safe (inside gated community), near small independent stores & restaurants, free wifi, my room had a patio.

Cons: smallish beach (but really nice), uncomfortable beach chairs, bad water pressure, beds on the hard side (but good enough), wifi was very hard stay connected.

I would return!

Absolutely agree with everything the review mentioned. Love love love PA, especially Omni. It's like a small community - OXXO across the street, lovely and lively dophins, great selections of reasonable and good restaurants, live music here and there. Kind of remind me the old days when everything is within walking distance and everybody knows everybody. Lovely path to highway 307 (a lot better than the hotel zone in Cancun). Omni's breakfast is excellent - the terrace overlooking the Caribbean is heavenly. Room service breakfast is equally full size and detailed. Will certainly return.
