“First class service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2011

We just returned from a week at the Eldorado Seaside Suites and it lived up to all the reviews. We had a garden view suite that overlooked the sw up bar and for the lowest level room it was great. Large walk in shower double sink vanity with a very comfortable king bed and a jacuzzi. Not bad for an entry level room!
The food was good in all the restaurants but we quickly learned that you are seated according to you room grade as we were consistently led to lesser tables even when much better ones were available.
The big downside is the beach. It is very narrow and most has a stone breakwater preventing access. Further south it is better but lacking the soft sand. We walked south off the resort to enjoy a better beach.
The service was excellent especially Tiburcio at the pool bar! The staff were fabulous from the manager who tool the time to greet us personally down to the groundskeepers.

I will not write a long review as I cannot add anything to the previous review, which sums up this resort excellently. For me the postives were the fantastic service, the food, the manicured grounds and the adults only experience. Slight negatives were the beach/sea, which is quite shallow although good for snorkelling and the balcony which was quite basic. although this is more than compensated for by the fact that you will not spend a lot of time there when the grounds are so beautiful. Overall a fantastic holiday which was exactly what we wanted.

My review will be short and sweet. From the moment we arrived to the time we left the staff was fantastic. The Shows were great ,the food was amazing and the Bars were fun.Small resort with big impression.Ask to see Rodrego the Bartender and get him to make you his shots that taste like Toffee. They're not on the bar list. Can't wait to return and see the staff that we now call friends.

We just returned from a week stay at the El Dorado Seaside. I have to say this was our 7th year in a row that we have visited the Cancun/Cozumel/Riviera Maya area and our first visit to an adult's only resort. That being said, I can not compare this resort to any resort that we have experienced so far. You can not compare a family resort to an adult's only.

We arrived early so we were unable to check-in to our room, but being experienced travelers we always pack beach clothes in our carry-on baggage or wear them under our clothes so that this is not a problem. We were greeted with smiles and taken to an invidual check-in desk (rather than the traditional reception desk). It made check-in very personal and was a nice touch after a long day of travel. You don't wear wrist bands at this place (which was nice) and we were sent on our way to explore until 3:00. We didn't make it very far when we found a lone beach bed and decided to lie down. We both fell asleep and an hour and a half later we woke up already feeling relaxed and refreshed! We headed back to to the lobby to check in and were pleased to hear we were going to be in a beachfront suite. I'm not sure if it was because we mentioned our anniversary, but I have to say being that close to the beach was like upgrading for us!

Our room was located in block 28 which is near the far end of the resort. It only takes about 7 minutes to get from there to the lobby so it is not a very large resort by any means. We are used to walking miles per day to get from our room to the restaurants to the lobby and the beach. The only miles you will put on here will be because you CHOSE to! The room was cool, clean and beautiful. The drapes around the bed and jacuzzi are a really nice touch. The closets are large, but only a tall top shelf. We have had more shelving in other resorts. There were only 6-7 hangars so bring extra hangars if you plan to hang all of your dinner clothes. There are 4 small drawers in the big entertainment center in the room that you can store your clothes. That worked fine for us. The bathroom area has a really long counter and full wall mirrror with double sinks. The toilet is in its' own closed stall and the shower stall is closed with a glass door. There is a fridge, room safe, dvd player, flat screen tv, coffee maker and ice bucket in the entertainment center. There is a seating area with a small couch and coffee table. They are very decent sized rooms. Balcony has two chairs and a little table.

The grounds are gorgeous! Well maintained, clean and so green and colorful with flowers. The palm trees are so thick that it almost creates a canopy above all of the walkways and provides great shade on a hot day. There are beds and hammocks scattered everywhere among the trees and the beach. Many private spaces to just be alone in the quiet if you wish.

There are personal conceirges located along the walkways in little buildings. They are there to answer any questions that you might have or help to arrange anything when you are there. Very friendly and outgoing staff. You can find beach towels in these buildings as well as in small bins near the pools.

The service is fantastic. We tried to count how many times that someone would say "hola" to you as you walk around. I would be safe to say that not one worker would pass you without the smiling "hola"! Everyone is so friendly and happy. It creates a really positive place. How can anyone be miserable in a place like this?? We say to those people - "Go home!" At each of the restaurants they ask for your room number and then they check their list for your name. Sometimes the waiters would mention your name as they served you which made you feel like they really were there to make you feel special. The biggest thing that was my husband's favorite - waitresses on the beach! He loved having his beer brought right to his chair. They began to recognize him each day and know what he wanted.

The beach is average. It isn't really something that they can control or change so it isn't fair to mark it down because of it. Half of the beach is walled off by a short stone wall (which you can still see over if you choose to sit on a lounge chair in this area) and you are not allowed to walk or swim in the water there. It's really rocky and probably partly reef. There is still plenty of sand area behind the wall to sit on. The other half of the beach is nice. It isn't powdery white and soft like we have experienced further north, but it isn't really rough like some people say. You can still walk barefoot without a problem and there are plenty of areas to navigate in the water where you aren't stepping on rocks and reefy areas. It's doable. They have daily snorkel tours which I did not do, but I snorkeled on my own around the swimming area. There are a ton of fish so I was impressed, but I am not a very experienced snorkeler so my opinion of great snorkeling could be a snore for others.

Food. Where do I begin with the food?! A+, 5 Star! For starters, there are no reserverations necessary. You can show up to any restaurant during the serving hours and be seated. Not once did we have to wait for a table and at times we were the only ones there with the exception of one or two other tables. The freedom to choose and not be restricted to a timeline is top notch in our eyes. Who wants to be on a schedule on vacation? We tried all of the restaurants for every meal. I tried not to let myself order the same thing more than once except for one breakfast that I really loved at the Vida Garden Grill. I enjoyed every single thing I tried. You are not limited to one thing on the menu. You can chose as little or as much as you want. You can have two entrees if you want. Or three! We were hesitant to try to the Mexican and Asian as we weren't sure how spicey it would be. Not at all. Even if you don't normally like that kind of food you have to give it a try! The worst thing that could happen is that you don't like it and you go somewhere else that you do like. And 24/7 room service included. Nice. We did that on our first and last nights there and it arrived hot and with a smile.

The dress code was somewhat confusing. We dressed according to their guidelines, but each day/night we saw people completely disregarding it and being allowed in and seated anyway. At dinner we saw men in t-shirts and almost everyone (men/women) wearing flip flops. My husband was one of a handful of men wearing closed toed shoes. One man looked as if he was wearing swim trunks to dinner. The guideline for breakfast/lunch was "casual/elegant" but how can you be both? Basically, as long as you are dry you will be seated. Pretty much anything goes. We completely overpacked because we weren't sure what would be accepted. I always say to use your best judgement. We always respect the guidelines because it is the right thing to do.

I have read some of the bad reviews of this place and I wonder if those people even stayed at the same place?! There are two types of people - the ones who see the glass half full and the ones who see the glass half empty. I feel sorry for people who look for things to complain about and then let it ruin their vacation. Lighten up. Take a step back and enjoy the slower pace of vacation. Why be in such a hurry and nit-pick the little things to death?

We would absolutely stay here again - hopefully sooner than later - and will highly recommend this place to our family and friends!

From the minute we arrived at 10pm, we were treated like honoured guests. The reception staff are real pros who know how to make people feel welcome and comfortable. We were brought to our room quickly and our luggage followed shortly after.
This place was made for relaxation. The beach beds are heavenly. The staff are friendly and warm. The room was spotless and cool, which was great, because you will need a place to retreat to when the sun cooks your brains.
And most importantly, the food was beyond belief! Every time we ordered something, we were thrilled with it. We especially loved Klay Talay for dinner (excellent sushi in Mexico? Whoda thunk it???), Arrecifes for lunch (stuffed papas con pollo...yummy...) and Vida for breakfast (something for everyone on this menu).
Again, I can't say enough about the staff, who seemed genuinely happy to be working at this stunning resort. A few who deserve special mention; Pablo from Klay Talay, who went over and above to make our experience unforgettable, Super Dario from Vida, the smiliest waiter alive and Rolando from Arricefes who was quiet yet attentive.
Drinks were plentiful and delicious. We rarely had to wait more than a minute or two to get one and they were always yummy.

Overall, we were very pleased with this resort. This was our first trip down south and though we have nothing to compare it to, we know what we like, and we LOVE the El Dorado Seaside!

We returned home from our vacation on April 12/11. It was the best vacation ever. We arrived late on April 4/11 and our room had a damp smell. We stayed there for the night and asked to be moved the next morning. Within 15-20 minutes we were in another room without any problems. The staff were very accommodating and pleased to help. The service we had during our week there was just over the limit. The weather was great, food was five star and the drinks were very tasty. If you want to get a bed on the beach then you will have to get up at 5:30am. I got up at 6:00am one morning and went to the beach to get a good bed and there was only two beds left at that time. No big deal though. The day trips we took are only a stones throw away. We visited excaret and it is worth every penny. If you are staying for the show from 7-9, you won't be disappointed. It was just wonderful. This was our second trip to El Dorado and it won't be the last. There was a lady who worked in one of the restaurants named Brenda and she was a very delightful person to have serve you. Lucy and Estella who delivered drinks on the beach were also wonderful. Great job girls. When they took my order they were only gone ten minutes and a fresh drink was ready. Great job done girls. My husband snorkled every day and the coloured fish pictures he took were great. There isn' t anything bad I can say about this resort. Everything was just wonderful. It was a very relaxing vacation. I walked the beach to the other resort which took us only 20 minutes and got to visit there also. It is hugh compared to El Dorado but that isn't a bad thing. Too big for my liking. Once you visit you will see it is great at your own resort. You have to take a trolly to go to the restaurant because it is so far away. Not my cup of tea. Anyways, I can't say enough about El Dorado. It definitely is a five star resort. Visit and you will see.

I cannot say enough about this great resort . We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived . The staff is the best with special thanks to Luis at the main swing bar, Lorenzo at Sandwicheria , Lucy our ever wonderful beach server and Denis at Mia Casa .
We had doubts about travelling to mexico because of the bad press being shoved down our throats but you have to take charge and go for it and never look back . We never once felt at risk during the trip and wont hesitate to return . Our room was amazing and only steps from the ocean . Room service was quick and friendly and always wanting to do more for you .
The beach is small but a short walk takes you to a gorgeous stretch that we spent hours on ,
Everyone we met seemed to be under the same spell as us and never met any guests that were not happy about where they were .
We plan to return every year to El Dorado Seaside until we get our own swing with our names engraved ! Thankyou all the staff and Management at El Dorado Seaside you made our 25 th anniversary an amazing one .
