“A True Gem-Can't Wait to Go Back!”
Reviewed 15 June 2010

My husband and I spent three nights at the Chateau with a large group of friends for a wedding, which also took place at the Chateau. I will start by saying that I am a very harsh critic of hotels and have traveled all over the world and I can honestly say that Chateau Bela is on my top 5 list of places that I have ever stayed. This hotel is luxurious, yet still remains very comfortable and cozy at the same time.

The chateau is the vacation residence of a German Lord whose family lost the chateau during WWII, but have recently repurchased and refurbished the entire building and property. The building and grounds are immaculately kept. This is honestly one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Every detail has been attended to, from fresh flowers in the room each day, to luxurious robes and bedding.

The romance and ambiance of the hotel is amazing! Each morning I woke feeling like a princess who was waking up in her very own castle. The hotel also boasts an amazing wellness center equipped with a large gym, massage/beauty treatment area and a very large sauna/steam room spa area. The sauna area has lovely lounger chairs with pillows and mattresses and there are always large pitchers of water with lemon wedges for guests. There is also a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool overlooking rolling green hills and the private walking path.

The entire Chateau is extremely beautiful and the owners have done and excellent job of keeping the structural and decorative integrity of the chateau in tact, while providing their guests with the most luxurious and modern amenities. At the same time, the hotel is extremely cozy and comfortable without being pretentious.

In addition to the physical beauty, the staff of the hotel took wonderful care of our entire group of around 55 of us. The wedding was superb, as was the food and attention to detail. Basically, there was nothing the hotel staff wouldn't do for our group.

We found the food at the Chateau was also superb! We had several group meals as well as breakfasts and lunches and every meal was fantastic. The Chateau also has its own vineyard and makes their own wine.

We were pleasantly surprised with Chateau Bela and we cannot wait to return some day! The look and feel of the hotel is very special and I feel very lucky to have discovered this gem!

Must say that whole weekend was far the best relax for long time. Starting from nice welcome at the reception, clean and cozy rooms, and helpful employees not ending with really good food.
Very pleasant surprise was the great selection of wines in Baldacci restaurant as well as the presentation of really tasty food. It has to be said that after the “typical" presentation of the traditional food in most of the Slovak restaurant this was "a breath of fresh air” on the plate.
Only one thing that should be improved is the advertisement - to bring this gem out of the darkness.

What a discovery! This is not a typical hotel, it is a castle with a very special atmosphere, relaxing and beautiful , not far from Bratislava. The generous rooms, the friendly service, the sauna-area, the pool outside and all in all the feeling like in the museum made our weekend unforgettable. The hotel is well worth the money, we will definitely be back.

What must be one of Slovakia's best kept secrets which makes for a lovely getaway from the city life.

From Bratislava, it takes 2 hours by car or 1 hour by express train( and they offer to pick you up from the nearby Sturovo train station. Train costs €7.70 one way)

The Chateau is immaculate in presentaion and cleanliness. The rooms are veryspacious, tastefully decorated and have wonderful bathroom facilities with courtyard or countryside views from it's elevated position.

The multilingual staff are all friendly and are happy to assist when ever needed.

The restaurant food is EXCELLENT reflecting the Slovak and Hungarian style cusine, with prices that won't break your budget.

The Chateau has it's own vineyard nearby, so it's easy to organise vineyard visit, wine explanations and tastings with it's onsite experts. So there is no shortage of quality wine.

It has a hightech surround sound cinema, full size snooker table, reading room and exercise/gym facilities.

They offer in house spa facilities, steam room and sauna.

It has a nice outdoor swimming pool, new tennis courts, rose gardens, 2 lakes, walking trail and rolling hills which can ecco the counrtyside of tuscany.

It's a 15 minute driver to the Hungarian historical city of Estergom situated on the Danube River which can make very ineresting side trip.

The Chateau caters for individuals, groups, conferences, weddings(with is interconected church) . It has 44 rooms and if needed addition rooms can be found locally.

And to finish, the value for money aspect is incredible. The prices they are offering will not stay as low as they are today!!!
