“Exceptional Holiday”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

We booked this holiday "blind" using reviews etc, and arrived on a Saturday about an hour before check in time. The park is pretty spectacular, from its views to the facilities and upkeep. We all loved it: From my 5 and 9 year old, who were able to wander freely to the park (a bragging point for the 9 year old when she returns to school apparently!) safely; to the 38 year old who could fish to his heart's content from the sea wall a few minutes walk away, as well as from the sea a little further; to the 36 year old who experienced such peace and quiet that I'd return in the blink of an eye... quicker if possible! This truly is a very special place, and much as I would like to share our perfect van number, it will remain our secret! Just the best.

A bit of extra info for the area... Tesco Extra 5 mins drive; The Vine Pub 3 mins walk - simple, good food; Sally's Riding School - £25 pp for 1 hr... but good experience and taken on the beach; Owl and Monkey Haven - well worth a visit and food good value; Needles Park - bit like Blackpool at Land End but on a smaller scale, although the kids enjoyed filling their plastic shapes with sand, and we all loved the chair lift... ghastly queues to get into the park though; Blackgang Chine - quaint, tipped it down while we were there so queues were fine, but only two rides really; Osborne House - we all loved it, and could easily have spent longer in the grounds so advise a good picnic! Weather was awful whilst we were there, and if it had been better, could easily have spent hours on the beach at Puck Pool Park (great beach and surroundings), or simply around the beach by the caravan.

We loved it!!!

We have recently returned from yet another stay at the Old Mill Holiday Park. This is our 8th visit and we have enjoyed this stay just as much as our first! Lovely quiet caravan site with fabulous views across the Mill Pond and Harbour and the actual caravan itself is in beautiful surroundings. The beach is within a 10-15 minute walk and we spent many a happy hour crabbing on the bridge across the Mill Pond. The site is immaculate and the caravans contain everything you could need for a comfortable stay. There is an on-site games room with a table tennis table, pool table and various other things to do. A very useful laundry room with excellent facilities. The staff are very friendly and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. I thoroughly recommend this Caravan Park.

We booked this site after reading previous Trip Adviser reviews and were not disappointed. We have stayed in various caravan parks in the past both in the UK and abroad. Old Mill seems to be the most well maintained, peaceful park with outstanding views across the harbour. We had the most chilled out holiday ever. The games room offers a pool table and table tennis table which was enough entertainment for our 11 and 14 year old. Simple things like cleaning products in the caravans and also tea and coffee sachets were provided. Also liked the communal rotary washing lines. Was nice not to have cars passing the caravan too, so trolleys provided for carrying luggage from car park were ideal. Picnic tables dotted around park were nice too The Jolly Fryer fish and chip van visit one evening was also a treat and very tasty.

The walk across the National Trust land to the beach only took 10 minutes. Crab fishing on the harbour path was also fun.

Just reluctantly come home after a 4 day break at the Old Mill Holiday Park and what can I say, I loved the place! We stumbled upon it by accident having been let down by another site and we were all amazed. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite, and did everything they could to accommodate us despite the extremely short notice we gave them. (I called at about 6pm the night before due to being let down by another site, we were in our caravan by 10.30 am the following morning!) Our caravan (we had number 25 in the upper park) looked brand new and was spotlessly clean, comfortable and luxurious. Little extras like sachets of tea, coffee, milk etc just show they cover every base to make sure guests are happy. Large screen TV with DVD player for the kids and large shower and two toilets were also welcome features. The park itself is spotless and beautifully maintained. The views over Bembridge harbor are breathtaking, and the short walk over the mill wall to the beach was a highlight of day 1. The kids loved the play area, plus cars are not allowed by the caravans so we could allow them to play happily and safely outside. Handy trolleys are provided to transport luggage to and from the car park so fear not, this is not a problem. There is no club house or arcade for the kids but there is the outdoor play area with pirate ship, zipwire, swings, slide etc, plus the large village green with another play are is just a short walk away. We ate at The Vine a couple of times, good food at reasonable prices. Everything about our stay was perfect and we will be booking to come again just as soon as we can. Shhhh, don't tell too many people about this place....!

Again another brilliant holiday at the Old Mill Holiday park, the caravan we stayed in was luxury indeed. The site is kept immaculate the vans are excellent comfortable, roomy and well appointed with little extras that make a holiday memorable, views to die for over the harbour at Bembridge. Walks a plenty We should,nt be saying good things about this as we would like to keep it just for ourselves but that is being selfish we were recommended here by our neighbour and can not keep away As a previous reviewer has put it is like coming home as the welcome you get, you feel as though you are family I, we feel sad when we have to pack up and come home But we will be back The Upson-Smith,s

Cant speak highly enough of this caravan park. Went on the recommendatons of previous reviews. Park is kept to high standard, stunning views over the harbour and the caravan was a delight. Many little extras i.e. welcome pack of tea coffee etc washing up/cleaning liquid second tv in main bedroom. Car parking although not by caravan not an issue as very near and trolleys available to help you. Such an enjoyable stay at this park.
