“Lovely quiet park”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

Just come back from our first family holiday on the Isle of Wight and couldn't have been happier with our stay at St Helens Holiday Park. This is a lovely small quiet park with outdoor swimming pool and small play area for the kids. St Helens is also a great location to visit other locations on the island. We did have one small problem with the caravan and this was repaired in less than 1/2 hour. The pub in the village called The Vine did some lovely meals and the local shop stocked fresh bread and croissants for your morning breakfast. Overall a fantastic holiday which the kids really enjoyed.

We've stayed here for 4 years now and absolutely enjoyed each time. Are going back again 2015. Grounds are well kept. Games room could do with more maintenance as some machines got stuck and are prizes lost. Pool area did have sun loungers in 2013 that were not there this year, would have like to have had access to them. St Helens is a lovely village with great local shops and doctors sugery that we used twice. St Helens beach is beautiful and its neighbouring Bembridge is also beautiful. I miss this place all year and would love to stay longer.

Room Tip: You don't get a choice of static cabins. Some are nicer than others - newer and smell less of do...

Stayed for a week with the family 2 kids aged 11 and 2, a quiet park, nice and clean, kids loved the pool and play areas, plenty open space to play too. Cars are parked in nearby car park on site so not next to caravans which is great for kids. Stayed in a shanklin 3 caravan which suited us apart from a musty smell in the main bedroom and some visitors in the way of ants! ! Never saw any staff apart from check in but we were given a number to ring 24hours if any problems. A good site to visit if you don't want the entertainment on a night.

The caravan site was perfect for us. There was no club house or entertainment which meant it was very quiet in the evenings. My children loved the swimming pool and the play areas and it felt very safe for them to explore. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The caravan was spacious, clean and comfortable. This is definitely a holiday I shall be booking again.

We have been go to St Helens Park for a number of years now, and the past few years they have let us pick our caravan for the following year so we have tried a different one each year and as we have a dog we are limited to what caravan we can book but the lady had always been so helpful. so 2012 we were told about a larger caravan in the other part of there site so we booked it, We turned up the following year only to find we had been moved to almost right next to the kids play area and pool, now our dog is so friendly he loves saying hello and getting patted on the head but where we were was right in the middle of the short cut to the pool so all week we had a very excited dog. So after a quick email they gave us a choice of 6 caravans for 2014 so we picked one up in the top far corner out of everyone's way, That was until we arrived this year and had been moved again we were put just 1 caravan away from where we were last year.
don't get me wrong its a lovely park great for the kids large and small with great playing areas and the pools nice (so my son said) but just don't pick a caravan hoping that's what you will get because as we were told they are selling so many that they are no longer available to hire...
Needless to say we are not going back next year time for a change

We have just returned from a weeks stay at St Helens Park and we are already planning our return! We have three children (aged 6, 9 & 11) who absolutely loved the pool - which is small but never felt over-crowded - we were very lucky to have amazing weather and the pool always felt warm and very clean. This was our third visit to the Island but our first stay at St Helens and I don't think we will stay anywhere else now! The site felt very safe for the children to run around, the staff were friendly and it was a great base to explore the rest of the Island. If you are looking for a base with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere then this site is for you!

Stayed her in late July, 2014. Family of four, 2 kids aged 3 & 9. First time on holiday for us in a caravan.

Staff were very friendly, caravan was good & clean (albeit a bit small and with hindsight, we would have booked a larger one). The site itself is spotless, there is a nice pool (which we always found to be clean), a field at the top of the park with football goals and a badminton net, there are a couple of kids play areas around the site which are good for the younger kids. There is no clubhouse on the site and personally, I think that is one of the real plus points because it keeps the noise down to a minimum in the evenings. The site is close to local amenities, there is a good pub, a small shop and a newsagents within 5 minute walk. The beach is only 10-15 minutes away, less if driving.

We decided that caravanning wasn't really our thing but even so, I would find it very difficult to fault this site. If you like caravanning, I think you would be hard pushed to find a better caravan site and I am sure you will be more than happy here.

Room Tip: I would go for one of the bigger caravans on the Western and Northern side of the site.
