“An out of the ordinary weekend”
Reviewed 18 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

There is something special in spending a weekend in a historical building and for that reason we loved Orton Hall. The main lounge was cozy and full of caracter and the apartment in itself was very comfortable. The village is delightful and we had some lovely walks around it. Also quite strategic to visit either the Lakes or any of the villages in the Eden Valley.
If we didn't give it a five stars is because we thought that the kitchen and bathroom could do with some updating, but again for the price it was worth it.

PS: Do not miss a visit to the Chocolate Factory in Orton. Great treat!

“Secluded and quiet”
Reviewed 27 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Orton Hall was lovely. We have never stayed anywhere like this before and it was wonderful. Very peaceful relaxing and tranquill. The features of the royalist suite were amazing we felt like Lord and lady. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Wild rabbits on the lawn outside. We used the spa about 20 min drive away that was also perfect. I would recommend or ton hall as something different from the ordinary we had a wonderful stay and would return again.

“Orton Hall”

Orton Hall is just like the pictures. Couple downsides unable to access wifi/internet, and tv could do with updating so have more freeview channels.

Easy to get to , Orton hall is set in beautiful gardens and country side. The rooms are clean, inviting and decorated with style, you wake up to rabbits playing on the front lawn and various different wild life going about their day. An idyllic breath of fresh air. Well done on the organization, we have never had a problem with reservations, directions or keys etc!

“Outstanding, beautiful and tranquil”
Reviewed 22 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Myself and my wife stayed here in 2000 bc (before children), and decided that we would let our 11 and 9 year olds experience the Royalist Suite. In case anyone reads this and doesn't know about the secret that the Royalist has I am not going to give it away. All I can say is my girls loved it.
Orton Hall is perfect for recharging the batteries, set in the Eden Valley just on the very edge of Orton Village there is not much to do apart from take in the views, enjoy the countryside, amble down to the pub and have a beer/wine and a bite to eat. Me and the girls explored the grounds, played some games and generally had a really relaxing break.
The accommodation was easily able to sleep the four of us and the main bed is really comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom are fine, although the kitchen is narrow so the girls were banned while I cooked.
The bonus of having the use of the Spa, a few miles away in Penrith was excellent.
If you want the opportunity to refresh and recharge in the beautiful Eden Valley with the chance to explore the Lakes then try and take in Orton Hall and find out what is the Royalist Suite's secret
