On our arrival we were given the keys to Troutbeck 25 on entry all looked good but after unpacking the smoke alarm went off 3 times in an hour and 2 lights did not work,i went down to reception and reported faults 4 days later nothing had been done. The accommodation was great a few wee minor faults a few of the carpet runs were worn but it is a well used property, the double bed is far to small and needs replaced if you are 6ft or taller then take socks.
The cooker and everything else was fine.
On the reception:- The management needs to send the receptionist to a customer relations course the were awful and looked unhappy, THE CRAZY GOLF IS IN NEED OF SOME TLC,nice pool and sauna. We will go back. ps the pizzas are not very good.

Room Tip: Take plenty of bread for the ducks

A short (taster) break with the family was absolutely fantastic. Staff throughout the site were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The grounds are well cared for, a recent planting of new flowers and tending to the lawns gives the impression that Seasons care and this is a common theme throughout. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist upon our arrival, (in fact every member of staff we met was a credit to the company). Our house (3 bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom!) came with fresh milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee and a pack of biscuits! It looks like the whole site is being overhauled bit by bit, our house was certainly well cared for and the level of cleanliness was top drawer.

Facilities include a swimming pool, a kids' pool, sauna, jacuzzi, crazy golf, a restaurant (with a takeaway pizza option!), a children's play area and DVDs to rent. It's also perfectly situated for access to Keswick and Penrith.

On the value of our visit I'd give this a 5 star review, but didn't sample the restaurant so don't feel honest in giving full marks. I do however highly recommend visiting Whitbarrow Village, we've stayed at Centre Parcs before and overall felt a little ripped off and less relaxed than we'd expected. Given the opportunity I'd definitely return.

As Seasons owners, we have had many visits to Whitbarrow - whether for a weekend, a Monday to Friday Short Break of a full week. We stay in one of the three bedroomed cottages which are spacious and modern. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and balcony, the second bedroom is a twin room and the third bedroom has bunks. There is also a family bathroom and, in some cottages, an additional downstairs toilet. The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with all cookware as well as microwave, hob, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The cottages are child friendly with a high chair and travel cot provided. There is also a clothes airer, iron and ironing board and cleaning equipment. All bed linen and towels are provided apart from cot bedding. There is private parking in the newly resurfaced car park. The Leisure facilities at Whitbarrow are excellent with a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and gym. There is a play park and lots of grassy areas and a crazy golf course. The Clubhouse has occasional entertainment and an excellent bar and restaurant. We have eaten in the Eden Restaurant many times and it is good value for money. There is a Games room with pool and table tennis. Whitbarrow is a great base for a visit to the northern Lake District but I would recommend that you have your own transport if you want to visit further afield. There are great walking routes and places to visit and we never have difficulty in occupying ourselves on a stay. There is no shop on site so it is best to bring basic provisions with you until you can get to Penrith or Keswick to stock up. Alternatively you can arrange for a Tesco delivery to your cottage. Whether you want to explore or simply relax in the Leisure Centre, Whitbarrow is an excellent base for a holiday.

Went for 2 night stay with the wife , and found the hotel room spacious and spotless, with all amenities of a lodge, with the added luxury of a hotel room. Very comfortable and relaxing. Stayed in one of the Ullswater Suites, which is housed next to the reception together with a swimming pool , gym, restaurant and bar. Though we didn't use the pool or gym, they looked top class. The restaurant and bar were fine. 2nd night they had a duo performing...really good. The complex had crazy golf and a putting green, and a small children's playground.
The set-up seemed mainly aimed at older customers and families with small children, and seemed perfect for that, as not a great deal for the older child to do.
The complex is a few miles away from villages or towns, and has no shop of its own, and breakfast in the Hotel suite is Continental only( delivered to your room), otherwise you need to go to the nearby Sportsman Bar or to a town for breakfast.
As we used the hotel as a base to tour the northern Lake District the place was ideal for us, and we enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I stayed here in mid May 2014 and were very pleasantly pleased with the resort.
Being a special offer, we were accommodated in a 3-bed - two bathroom mid terrace cottage which was well appointed with all the necessary items required to make the holiday go well. Well equipped kitchen with all you could expect in your own kitchen at home.
Being England and in mid May, the weather spoilt the stay; being cool, drizzly and overcast most of the time. However this location would be and absolute delight in the height of summer and we hope we will be able to take advantage of this in the future.

We had a fantastic week at Whitbarrow in the Lakes in Feb 2014 which cost us around £500 at that time we were offered a promotional talk in exchange for a free weekend trip to one Seasons holidays complexes. We went to this talk but we decided that it wasn't for us at that time.
We were given a voucher and it was clearly stated that we had done the promotional part of the deal.

We therefore booked our free trip for this a June weekend back to Whitbarrow. I was contacted the day before going whho wanted us to come to another promotional talk despite hearing basically the same thing only 4 months ago. When I explained that we had had the talk and had been informed that we wouldn't need to come again the manager became very rude stating that we would need to pay for the weekend instead. He would not have any discussion on flexibility especially as we have three young kids, but demanded that we come for another 90min talk.

We therefore cancelled the trip that we had been promised and had been looking forward to. It seems strange to me that a company that relies on its customers can have such a breach in honesty.

We had gone to a promotional talk on a holiday which we had paid for wasting our time when they knew clearly that we would have to go to another talk. Their customer service in the reception and complex was great but their service in the sales department was atrocious and it was clear that they could give a damn once they realised we weren't interested. My main advice would be not to trust what the sales reps tell you.

We stayed at Whitbarrow in No.20 Troutbeck a spacious 3 bed Apartment. It was a very quiet looking out onto grass and trees. There were many birds, as well as the resident ducks with 3 very young ducklings, house martins busy building their nests etc. We were 2 senior couples and found the accommodation very suitable. Although the fitted fridge was out of order they had supplied us with a large fridge freezer. We would agree with other reviewers that the restaurant/bar was very good, food and prices. Some people commented that they were disappointed that there was no Wi-Fi in the apartments, but there is free Wi-Fi in the bar area with comfy chairs, so no real problem. Any queries reception staff are very helpful. A bonus is now the car park is tarmacked, so much better. For dog owners who can't bring their dogs to Whitbarrow, there is a small Kennels within easy walking distance. We have been many times in various locations around the village and will be back!
