“Ok but could be improved”

I stayed in whitbarrow with my husband and our 2 children aged 21/2 and 4 months. The grounds, pool and resort where well kept. Our accommodation was Kirkstone 5 and from the moment we checked in there was a stench of stagnant water/ blocked drains in the upstairs- maintenance arrived promptly and were helpful but after 3 visits in the first 5 days we gave up trying to get the problem rectified- the smell made you feel the accommodation wasn't clean but it was in fact very clean- fixtures bad fittings tired and need refreshing- restaurant mediocre and could be improved - pool great, staff friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Avoid Kirkstone 5 - it stinks!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and we stayed in the Ullswater Suites.

Our apartment was spacious and was tastefully decorated. It had everything that you would need for a stay here, including a fully equipped kitchenette. The patio area outside was lovely, with stunning views. We ate our breakfast out there both mornings, so peaceful. There are also some ducks that are very friendly and like to come up to your patio doors to have a nosey in!!

We used the restuarant both nights, excellent food and reasonably priced. There are a couple of pubs nearby that you could drive to if you wanted to try those too.

The facilities at the hotel were good, the pool was a nice size and easy to access from the Ullswater suites. The sauna and steam room were good, but maybe a little bit on the hot side! The only downside to the whole trip, was that the jacuzzi was out of order for the full duration of our stay, it would have been a great way to relax with great views of the surrounding countryside! Mini golf was also good.

The hotel is in a good location, only a short drive from Ullswater Lake, Penrith and a few other places. We stopped off at Ambleside on the way up, lovely little place.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definately choose to stay there again when visiting the Lakes!

Stayed in the Ulswater. Room well fitted out and comfortable. Only points that let it down is ventillation on hot day as no fan or air con and although there was french doors and one window they are all in the same wall so air can't circulate. Pillows are totally flat and winter douvet as only cover. Reception, bar and restaurant are air conditioned. Pool is awkward to get in and out of if your not tall and fit due to height of first wrung on vertical steps. Wifi failed for 19 hours due to micky mouse service provider who doesn't work after 5pm.

We have just returned from great weekend at Whitbarrow Village and it just escaped being a five star due to a few little faults which can easily be rectified. One was a bit of grass mowing on the pitch and putt which was great fun and the crazy golf needs some attention as it looks a bit shabby. Our 1 bed apartment in Skiddaw 8 was spacious and well equipped but the furniture was a bit dated and the bed and pillows weren't the best. A luck of paint on our balcony was also needed.

However, the standard of care and attention, cleanliness, the quality of the shared amenities, particularly the pool, the restaurant which we ate in and the bar, were all absolutely excellent. Every single member of staff we met were brilliant particularly the waitresses in the restaurant on Sunday night were amazing, friendly and funny and couldn't do enough for you.

We loved it that much that even though we're already vacation owners in the Caribbean, we decided to purchase the starter pack because it's a great deal. As did our brother and sister in law who loved it too. I can see many more trips to Whitbarrow and other Seasons resorts coming up in the years to come.

We can also recommend the nearby Sportsmans Inn for food and a pint as we ate there on Friday night excellent quality and value.

Room Tip: Our friends stayed in a studio in the Ullswater block which was brand new and absolutely gorgeous th...

Just returned from a break here . we were in an ullswater suite which was very comfortable and had everything needed for our stay even the fabulous view from balcony over the fields added to this holiday. The staff were always friendly and helpful when information was required in all areas reception ,bar and restaurant . Leisure facilities are top rate with no charge to use . Would highly recommend this village and will certainly have another holiday there.

Went with out three young children midweek for four nights. We had a fab time. Lovely clean apartment, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher! We ate in every night, so can't comment on the restaurant. The reception staff we found really nice, especially sue, she made a big effort with our children. Pool was gorgeous. Almost empty everytime we went (we went five times!) loads to do with kids around, puzzling museum, gruffalo wood, wildlife park - to name afew. The grounds were really peaceful, nice park, woodland walk (although very short!), little duck pond, crazy golf. We had a brilliant time. And if u like running there's a beautiful run too.

On our arrival we were given the keys to Troutbeck 25 on entry all looked good but after unpacking the smoke alarm went off 3 times in an hour and 2 lights did not work,i went down to reception and reported faults 4 days later nothing had been done. The accommodation was great a few wee minor faults a few of the carpet runs were worn but it is a well used property, the double bed is far to small and needs replaced if you are 6ft or taller then take socks.
The cooker and everything else was fine.
On the reception:- The management needs to send the receptionist to a customer relations course the were awful and looked unhappy, THE CRAZY GOLF IS IN NEED OF SOME TLC,nice pool and sauna. We will go back. ps the pizzas are not very good.

Room Tip: Take plenty of bread for the ducks
