Fabulous weekend. Meals although quite small, were extremely tasty, fresh and well presented. Service quick and efficient. Relaxing atmosphere in lounge with roaring fire.
Other guests appeared be in similar relaxed mood helping the overall relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Our dog was welcomed and well-behaved in return!

The 'hootenanny' cheese from Knotty Ash was beyond compare and to be recommended ! A quiz was organised by the manager for after dinner and proved to be unlike any other quiz we've participated !

Overall, a lovely stay.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay

What a great review, thank you! We do our best to create an atmosphere that allows our guests to relax and unwind and we are happy to hear you were able to! The Hootenanny cheese is delicious and fun to say too. All of the local food we use is of great quality and expertly prepared, so we are thrilled you enjoyed it!

Dinner was superb; we could not fault the service or the presentation and the taste was lip smackingly delicious. The roaring logfire in the lounge was welcoming and relaxing. Our hyper active collie was made most welcome, even given treats from the kitchen by Wayne, the Manager which she thought excellent. Walking in the hills around the hotel was pleasant but it would have been nicer had we been able to relax in the hot tub afterwards but it wasn't very hot. Good value for money though.

We appreciate your kind review of The Damson Dene Hotel. We do love dogs here and are lucky enough to have so many well-behaved varieties! The local area is a great place to go for walks and we are not far from all the wonderful places the Lakes has to offer! We hope you come visit us again.

Just spent the last 2 days at the Damson. Lovely quaint hotel, with genuine warm staff. Service was good but not overly attentive as having to press a buzzer to get bar service is not ideal, but at least the guys came running! Food was hot and tasty, but portion controlled!! Sticky toffee pud to die for!
Room (32) was clean and tidy, but a bit tired looking, and was a tad on the small side.
but the best bit by far was the wood fire in reception with the huge sofa's to sink into and snooze whilst enjoying a glass of red!
Left feeling a lot more relaxed than when we arrived!

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view as i believe there are rooms that look onto walls

Hello Mr. Elliott and thank you for taking the time to review the Damson Dene. We are happy you got a chance to relax and unwind by the fire. You aren't the only one's to doze off on the sofa's there! Thanks again and we hope to see you again!

What a nice hotel - clean, comfortable, warm and very welcoming. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a large car park and duck pond. We were greeted with a roaring fire and friendly receptionist. The pool and gym aren't massive but they don't need to be and the jacuzzi was really warm. The staff were great and gave good service but it was the food that we will remember the most. Our evening meal, which was included in our deal, was delicious, with the sticky toffee pudding being mind blowing. The breakfast was just the same with good quality bacon and sausages and the coffee was hot and strong which was needed after a night drinking the scrummy chilled Pinot. Would we go again? Oh yes, on my birthday! (hint hint)
