We enjoyed our second stay (a year later) at Damson Dene. The glowing log fire, cosy sofas and lovely warm, friendly attitude of all the staff was as wonderful as ever. A good sign that most of the staff we'd got to know on the Channel 4 documentary were still there - and their service as immaculate as a year ago.
This is a great place - in a beautiful setting, with a combination of comfort and professinalism. The standard of the food is very high - a lovely menu for dinner and beatifully presented food. Breakfast is excellent and to sit by the windows looking out onto the pretty garden is a lovely experience, Such a warm and hospitable place (where even our dog is made welcome) is a great find.

Room Tip: Our room this year had a lovely view over the hills, complete with lambs. I think it was room no. 24...

What a lovely review, thank you! We are so pleased that you came back to stay with us again, and that you enjoyed it just as much the second time. And they do say third time lucky, so we hope to see you again next year for an even better break!!

My friend and I recently stayed at the Damson Dene and we really enjoyed it. The room was clean and fresh the staff very helpful and the food was lovely. I reported a light not working and it was fixed that same day whilst we were out. The pool and leisure facilities are very good and we used them during our stay. We will definately be going back there as it is so friendly

Room Tip: If you need wifi access it is best to have a room upstairs rather than down as the signal is better

staff very helpful & friendly we got a very good offer which they had on at the time . Also they do tastecard & you get 50% off evening meals , it is quite central to explore other areas around. Weather was lovely so that was a bonus too .

Room Tip: Ask for one on reception level no stairs to have to climb .

We've just returned from a 2 nights stay at the Damson Dene Hotel and are trying to work out when we can return! We arrived to a lovely reception area and was met by the smell of fresh flowers then a lovely burning wood fire surrounded by cosy leather settees with tables set out with the day's newspapers. The receptionist was friendly and helpful who checked us in asking if we would like morning papers etc. We then did a quick tour of the hotel and set off out to discover the lovely surrounding area. The first night we were booked in for the evening meal and could choose the time we preferred - 18.30-20.30. We chose the later slot as we didn't want to rush back, however we returned and showered early and had a drink in the hotel bar which is very comfortable with views of the hotel's gardens. The meal was absolutely excellent, a 3 course which absolutely fabulous - (anyone going to the hotel must book into the restaurant at least one night to experience the fine food they have on offer) compliments to the chef! We then retired to the bar for a nightcap or 2! After a good nights sleep (we had room 11 which has a 4 poster bed and lovely views of the countryside) we made our way down to breakfast, again greeted by the burning wood fire and friendly receptionist wishing us a good morning. The breakfast was great which definately set us up for the day, fruit juice, cereals, fruit dishes and also a full english, all buffet style, complete with toast and tea/coffee served to our table by the helpful waiters/waitresses. Wayne was a delight just how you expected after the channel 4 show, witty and very easy to talk to who also served in the restaurant and also the bar.........mmmm we never did get the photo of him which we promised the kids (next time Wayne!!) lol. All in all a BRILLIANT couple of days (we've stayed at some amazing hotels and can't wait to visit the Damson Dene again) anyone out there thinking about booking this hotel my advice to you is "do it" you seriously won't be disappointed - thanks for a lovely couple of days - Michelle & James

Room Tip: Room 11 comes complete with 4 poster bed and jaccuzi, is also very spacious

It was great to book a 3 star hotel and be really impressed rather than book a 4 star and be disappointed !

The staff were excellent (as all of the reviews had said) food was lovely and we enjoyed the spa facilities and massages.

We definately plan to return and are pleased to see that well behaved dogs are welcome.
