What this hotel boasts in its splendid architeture and history, the front desk staff boasts in dullness. First, We arrived at night, and I had a printed card from the State's website of tourism where you "supposedly' get a discount", I called to make sure to get my discount, and they told me to present it at arrival, then at arrival no one seemed to know what was that card, even when the picture of the hotel appeared there.
Second, I called to ask if the hot springs of Ojocaliente, right across the hotel, were still functioning, but the lady at the desk did not have the slightest idea of any touristy information.
Third, the phone message that a friend left for me was not relayed until a day later by the front desk attendant.
Now, the bell staff, the maid, the servers and busser at the beautiful restaurant were very attentive, very nice, kind people happy to work.
It only seems that the management, and front desk staff are all snobs and incompetent.
It is true that the gym has only one machine, and that on the weekends there are loud parties. In our stay on a friday, there was a really loud wedding going on.
The restaurant is exceedenly beautiful, and there is a breakfast buffet on sundays that is absolutely fabulous!!!

Room Tip: Weekend might be loud due to parties, and weddings, so stay weekdays. Sunday buffett at the restaur...

We stayed for 5 nights (Sunday through Friday). This quaint, historical hotel is very pretty and clean. The food was not so great—everything tasted very much the same, and was greasy. Sunday through Thursday it was very quite; I think there were only a hand-full of guests. Friday night was a disaster! The Hotel turned into party central, and a loud band “boomed” until 3:30am! At 2:00am we was offered a room further away from the music. We left for the airport at 5am, and had difficulty getting a detail of our bill, which had errors. I requested credit for the final night, but was refused. Be SURE to request a non-smoking room (if they have any), because we did not, and that was a problem also. This place could be a lot of fun for a wedding, family reunion, or party. The staff was usually nice and helpful. Other than that, I’m sure there are much better places to stay in this lovely little city full of gracious people.

they are currently working on the exterior of the hotel to make it look more posh, but other than that the service was awesome and I am sure when the work is done to the outside it will look more spectacular

De Andrea Alameda Hotel
Alameda Esqu. Tecnologica
Col. Hereos
20170 Aguascalientes, Ags. - Mexico

I'm suprised that the Aguascalientes section of the website does not include this fabulous 5 Star hotel. It was the original hotel before all the chains arrived in Aguascalientes. The rate/ night was 900pesos which was very reasonable. The rooms were large and very unique compared with the cookie-cutter rooms found in chain hotels. The staff was helpful, except for giving directions to the hotel. I've included directions from the airport below. The dining room was beautiful and very unique. The gym was practically non-existent. It has the feel of an outside courtyard, complete with a fountain in the middle. There were however some slight signs of wear here and there. The shower head in my bathroom sprayed too wide, which resulted in water all over the floor. I did notice that the second night they had replaced it with another head. The problem was not completely corrected, but they made an attempt without me saying anything. The pool was slightly dirty. If they did a little work to freshen up the hotel here and there, it would certainly be one of the better hotels that I have visited. The hotel is near the old hot springs for which Aguascalientes is named. You will need to take a taxi in order to reach downtown. Currently, they are doing construction on Alameda street, so the directions that I am giving take you in the back way...

Directions from Aguascalientes Airport
-Go North on 45 toward Aguascalientes
-Take a right on Av. Convencion (This is two lights after Bodega Aurera which will be on your left)
-Go through 7 or 8 lights (You'll go over a large bridge) and cross Av. Lopez Mateos. (There is a PEMEX station on the corner)
-Take a R on an unnamed road that has a large Coke sign on the corner building (The street goes diagonally away from Convencion
-Take the second L and then the first R
-You'll have the hotel on your R
-Continue around the hotel to the entrance.
